Great video. As I’m new at recollecting and haven’t collected in 20 years I’m amazed at all that’s happened in the green lantern universe. Hal Jordan was my favorite character late 80s into the mid 90s. I think I’m all caught up on him but didn’t realize all the different lanterns. Thanks for the informative video guys.

I would include Thor 384. There have only been 3 mortals who have lifted the hammer of Thor, Captain America, Beta Ray Bill and the 3rd is Dargo Ktor who’s first appearance is here on issue 384. It’s extremely affordable for around $10 in high grade. I can easily see this character in the MCU.

Tim Drake issue i found one low price as you said under for ten dollars. And that Hawkeye#1 issue I got that I didn't know that it was going to hot I just thought that it was luck when I found it for a low price

I'm in the medium zone, but there are enough cheap auctions and over stocks to find through travelling and visiting comic shops. Follow shops online and you'll see who overvalues and who prices their comics to sell. Bargains are purely a frame of affordability. Finding a key comic in good plus is a great find always. Buying up a whole recent series on the cheap, to speculate works, too. I bought a pile of X-Men twenty years ago, and now the books have increased. We need more long term collector trends, especially in off brands like Charlton.

I always think Jim lee when it comes to x-men and almost every popular shirt from retailers have his art on them so I started collecting all his artwork covers as I never get enough of them
Green Lantern 43 is one of the best covers from Blackest Night. I have never been a big Green Lantern fan, but I loved Blackest Night and it got me interested in finding out more about the Green Lantern corps.and its history. I really hope Blackest Night is adapted and done well, big or small screen.
I picked up Green Lantern Rebirth because it was the first Lantern book to look good in forever. I loved that run but I didn’t go any further but from everything I’ve heard I need to read it all. Johns did right by the Lanterns. Now I just have to come up with several hundred dollars

Best GL book to start with is Green Lantern: Secret Origin by Geoff Johns! The Grant Morrison run is cool but it's very Grant Morrison and not at all something that should be your first GL book
Unfortunately if they DO make it they'll probably water it down like the MCU did for Civil War...but I think DC has the rights to every character? I could be mistaken but I don't think DC/Warner Bros sold off any of their characters to different studios in the way Marvel did

I agree marvel definitely greater than DC in terms of high dollar slabs but DC is gaining as more pop up lately such as swamp thing 50 go for high $$$$. I for some reason think a lot of Batman books like 442 are going to become more collected soon.
That entire Geoff Johns Green Lantern run is fire! I would of included issue #9 1st new Tattoo man, and Batman turns into a Green Lantern, which the variant cover of that issue by Ethan Van Shriver is mind blowing.
Infinite Frontier 0, to get the immediate backstory about why Joker is on the run Batman: The Killing Joke to understand the beef between Jim and Barbara Gordon and the Joker Hope that helps! Also you could read James Tynion's Batman run but it's not entirely necessary to understand the Joker comic

@@Jamie-bj8gk the most relevant Batman run to the Joker series in my opinion isn't actually the current Batman run, written by James Tynion IV, same writer as Joker, but the Tom King run on Batman just before that. It will explain some of the backstory about Bane and his relationship to Gotham, but it's a really small connection. Plus it's almost 100 issues to read that entire run! It's not bad to get current on Batman, it's just a lot of work
I personally love the red lantern core. I also have been trying to get in the collecting a Comics, this has been relatively difficult. On the positive these type of videos have helped
And Larflees same issue I bought a bunch of the issue for 20-25$ each I expect it to jump when the cartoon hits but either way it has value cool debuts and great art.
Love the spotlight on these affordable books! Although now Hawkeye #1 with that yellow cover is going for closer to 30 but probably at the time you recorded this video it was under that. Also that first Jim Lee I picked up a year ago along with the Avengers cover in Uncanny 268 for 20!

The Johns Van Sciver stuff is great. Grant Morrison did a run recently have not read it yet but I love Morrison.

Lot of DC moderns are affordable because they never go up in value which also happens to be the best reason not to pick them up.
