Fleshtones, Romeo Void with Deborah Iyall's distinct vocals that make the band ! Interesting to see Patty Smyth with her original group Scandal ! Little Bagariddim is cool, mine is still in that heavy plastic outer sleeve. I have that Julian Cope, found it thrifting.. It's excellent !
Hey, that's right! I definitely remember having Little Baggariddim housed in that plastic outer sleeve. Long gone. Every home needs some Fleshtones, and Scruffy The Cat! Thanks for watching Jt, and hope you're having a good weekend. 😎🎶
Hi Ed, Every time I watch one of these EP responses, I remember more and more EPs that I have, including B52s, and some stuff I don't, like the Bluebells. If Craig Gannon was in that band, then yes, he joined the Smiths. I haven't thought about Material Issue for years. Excellent!!
That's him! But, I looked it up, he joined The Bluebells after this EP. This was a lot of fun to put together! One I remembered I had after the video was done: Lene Lovich 'New Toy' EP.😎🎶
Nice response video to Brian!great Fleshtones EP. Scruffy the Cat is a new one to me. I do like the Mesopotamia ep from the B-52’s . The title track is my favorite off that one. Nice Dream syndicate/ scandal etc..
Thanks, Shawn! Scruffy The Cat has a small catalog, and I recommend their LP 'Tiny Days'. Saw them live a few times back in the late 80's when they came to CT. Can never have enough Fleshtones. As always, appreciate the watch and comment. 😎🎶
Hi Ed, You chosen some really nice selections.. I've always been a fan of UB40. The Julian Cope EP is great, too. I'm not familiar with "Scruffy the Cat," but that is a fantastic jacket. You're right about the B-52s EP being the weak link in their catalog. It's great to see such a positive response to Brian's diverse EP collection. Cheers
Thanks, Mark! Scruffy The Cat takes me back to college and would catch them live when they passed through New Haven. I really was surprised at how many EP's I actually had. Brian puts the rest of us to shame, for sure 😎🎶
Had to subscribe after your first EP showing of Fleshtones! Great find! Wish I had that one! Romeo Void another great EP! The Bluebelles as well. I have that one! Cath is a great song! And yes Craig Gannon from The Bluebelles joined The Smiths during The Queen Is Dead tour and played on some singles: Ask & Panic. Julian Cope is a great one as well. Really great stuff. Enjoyed your video and looking forward to seeing more!
@toddthemod Thank you, Todd, for the watch and comment! I appreciate it! New to the VC here, meeting new folks, and having a blast. I got this idea from Brian @embryonicrobot. Have subscribed to your channel as well, and looking forward to checking out your videos 😎🎶 Ed.
Hey! Great video. You've got a pretty awesome collection. I actually have about half of those EPs too, including that Fleshtones one-such a great record, I really like them.
Thank you, Stephanie! I have a lot of Fleshtones, and have seen them live many times over the years as they come through CT. We've got similar tastes! 😎
Sick Fleshtones EP! I only have their live album from the 90s I think. Killer record. I think I have that Romeo Void EP. I need to revisit that sometime. I need to pick that B52s EP sometime. And great Cope! Cheers Ed
@@LowNoiseJasonSkilz No home should be without some Fleshtones, I always say! Check out Roman Gods, Hexbreaker, or Fleshtones Vs. Reality. Those are my favorites. Seen them live many times. That EP got me hooked on Julian Cope back in the day. Thanks for the watch and comment, J 😎🎶
It's cool how this has turned into a vibrant thread. I've seen a few of these now after Brian's originals. I don't have any of what you showed but it's always fun to see what you got, Ed.
Right back at you, Peter! You always bring a lot of interesting and unique stuff to the table with detailed and entertaining background info. I know I'll always see something totally new to me in your videos. 😎🎶
I love the Bluebells! I have the Sisters album (cassette) that includes Cath, along with Everybody's Somebody's Fool and Young At Heart. Fantastic! World Shut Your Mouth is interesting....I don't have that ep, but I have an album Julian released by that name, but the album doesn't have the song. The song is on the 1987 album St. Julian. Kind of like Queen and Led Zeppelin where they had albums with titles that matched songs that are not on the album with that title. If you can follow that. I enjoyed this look back at the 80s!
I definitely can follow that, Randy! I have the St. Julian album as well. Takes me back to my college radio DJ days. I played all of these again before making the video, and for most it was the first time in many, many years. You know me...I love my 80's!
Thanks, Craig! Pretty much all of what I showed I had not played in decades. Brought back a lot of good memories. The Scandal EP definitely rocks, as does Romeo Void's 'Never Sat Never'. Appreciate the watch and comment. 😎🎶
Great stuff Ed! I need to dig into The Fleshtones… heard them, but don’t have any of their stuff. I’ve got Mesopotamia, but don’t think I’ve listened to it yet. Yes!!! I love World Shut Your Mouth… pop perfection. Never heard of Scruffy the Cat. Great video, Jack
Thanks, Jack! For The Fleshtones, check out Roman Gods, Hexbreaker, or Fleshtones vs. Reality. Those are my faves, but the whole catalog is great party rock n' roll. Ditto Scruffy The Cat: check out 'Tiny Days' LP. I love that St. Julian album as well. Appreciate the watch😎🎶
Glad I could deliver, Morten! It was fun to put together, and I had more EP's than I thought as I mentioned. Every home needs some Fleshtones and Scruffy The Cat! It's pretty cool when one can show some artists that viewers are unfamiliar with. 😎🎶
@@onmyturntable7036 My pleasure Ed! Always enjoy your videos! It was nice here in Andover, MA as well. Wow, so I, for once, HAVE one of the records in these videos. The B-52’s one 😊 Otherwise, splendidly unknown to me!
