If one wants to get the most bang for buck, the 14-140mm/3.5-5.6, along with the 25mm/1.7 are a worthy combination for a µ4/3 user…

I think you did a good job going over the "pros and cons" of a lens that hasn't received much attention.

Thanks, I tried to be as honest as possible.

@@TheBudgetFilmmaker That is appreciated, and I learned A LOT. I want to support you, and so I wanted to let you know I really liked the video (but just thought the title was click-baity).
This reminded me of how I used to be on a trek to find a perfect lens-sensor combination, but once I started to "always shoot with two cameras" (to save time in production and post, etc.) It started being much easier, because now EACH (OF THE TWO) CAMERAS DOES IT'S JOB (ONE "WIDE", AND ONE "TIGHT").
It is less stressful, when shopping, and when shooting, to do so...last time we chatted on my "Top 3 (Budget) Lenses for Filmmaking" video I mentioned some of those.

Yes, I know it's "click-baity", but RUclips seems to ignore straightforward titles that go "product xy Review". We all have to step up our title-game I suppose. 😄
Yes there are a lot of philosophies out there for different kind of jobs, but some things are quite universal.

@@silverlightphotoco No I am not offended, no worries there.
Most of my work is corporate stuff, so I often also have to write texts for those videos, but they are all in german. I am not as fluent in english, but I hope over time I gain enough experience to write my titles click-baity enough to not be registered as ones. ;)
Always glad to read your comments!

I pair the 14-140mm with the 7-14mm lens for an awesome ultra wide to telephoto do it all run & gun vlogging setup 👌🏽

    Thank you for this video.
I shoot a lot of wildlife video and pictures and have used Nikon cameras and lenses for years but when I told someone I wanted to upgrade to 4G quality they recommended I buy a Lumix G5 saying the pictures and video were second to none. I took the plunge and bought a second hand G5 and a new 14-140mm lens reviewed here. It was the worst thing I ever did! The camera is totally useless for wildlife because fast focusing is essential and this camera searches for ages and sometimes never focuses at all. To make it worse this lens doesn't hold focus when zooming making the package no good whatsoever. I'm not saying it doesn't take beautifully sharp pictures and video but don't get one for filming wildlife. Mine will very soon be on the market!!

Olympus 12-200 is another great option aswell. Although no lens stabilization.

I too have the first version that I used with a G3. Now have a G95 and thinking of adding the updated lens. Comparing the new lens to original, think it’s worth $500 for the update? Shoot primarily stills.

Main feature on camcorder it's keep focus when i zooming. This lense is doing that? In "somehow"

The lens holds focus from the far end to the narrow end with only slight shifts inbetween. It is of course not comparable to a dedicated EB lens (not to mention the missing power zoom), but it holds it's focus very well for a photo lens.

B-Roll footage from the documentary is in V-Log, rest in Like709 for quicker grading.

Depends. If you shoot a lot of low light and don't need a long range, maybe consider the Olympus 12-40 2.8. Constant aperture and very sharp. The 14-140 has an amazing range but is not very good in low light scenarios.

I want to buy this camera with the same lense but im afraid if it's not a good brand not a good choice i want to use it for RUclips and I'm stuck between this one and canon 200d/ Sl2 can anyone help a brother in need 😢

      @TheBudgetFilmmaker  4 месяца назад +1

If you want the best quality, this combo is in a totally different league than the 200d, which is a lowend consumer camera. No comparison really.

Yeah, Panasonic didn't really make any new consumer cameras and are more focused on the mid to higher end market.
