It's just me and my wife nowadays, but there is something I just can't stand about having to cut a rack of ribs in half to make them fit on the grill. That's why we have the xl and it is freakin awesome.
I live in an apartment in California and day 2 of cooking with a mini propane grill I was given a notice to stop. I got the pro connect and cook and smoke all the time now! Probably 90% of my meals I cook on it and it’s absolutely amazing ! Definitely worth the extra $$
Glad to hear Ninja made a solution for you! Thats what I love best about this unit. Its safe to have under my covered porch when I still wanna cook when the weather is sub par!
I have both and I definitely prefer the OG model !! The pro connect feels kinda toyish /cheap . Don't get me wrong I really like it especially the wifi Bluetooth feature but other then that it doesn't really impress me . The stand for the OG model is 10000 times better also . The stand for the pro connect is a pain in the butt because the legs don't fold and it's not a cart style where you can easily roll it around. They're both awesome because Ninja is awesome but I'd just prefer my OG any day!!!!
I agree about the stand for the OG model. Feels sturdier and has cool features like folding it up and going! The OG style is definite a more travel friendly version.
I also have both and I completely disagree with your analysis. I find the pro connect to be superior it almost every way to the original grill which I also have. Taller, larger cooking surface, improved pellet access. An excellent update. And the app works flawlessly for me.
And the stand really has absolutely nothing to do with the functionality of the grill. There are so many possibilities that are better than either the original or the newer stand. Not even an issue for me at all
On both, the stand looks like a poor design. I paid less and got a very nice stainless stand on Amazon that worked great and would function well for both units. It's not foldable and is on my back deck. Stainless top, two racks and a paper towel holder.
@@kopenml the size isn't really that much difference. The only thing better which isn't a big deal is wifi. But real cooks like to watch over their stuff instead of taking the lazy way out . The quality is definitely better on the original model. The pro connects aren't even selling as good that's why they went from 499 to 329 within a few months of being on the market. The original is still hovering at its original price of 349 !! The pro connect stand is garbage and takes up too much space. The pellet hopper on the pro gets jammed and is a junk design ! Everything about the original is better . But to each their own ! The pro also was so poorly designed that within 3 months they changed the control panel on them !!
Helpful, but i wish you'd shown the grills more -- like the space of the small one vs the larger. For example, would one whole chicken fit on the smaller one? And explained only the small one's stand folds up.
Thanks so much for putting this video together, I really appreciate it! I don't intend to use any "smart" features or apps, but the difference in size might make a difference. I'll usually be grilling for just two people, but I certainly want to be able to feed more when friends come over. Is there a downside to using the XL model when it's just dinner for two? Or maybe even one? Just in terms of heat-up times, energy consumption, what have you? Thanks again, you rock!
Im so glad it was helpful. I wouldn't say there is a downside to having the larger one, other than just a larger plate to clean, and a larger airfry basket to store somewhere when not in use. Haven't noticed a difference in preheat time or pellet use. I honestly wouldn't be able to tell you if it uses more energy. I dont know how to ready KW's.
Ninja Woodfire PRO XL Electric BBQ Grill & Smoker with Smart Cook System OG850EU.. I believe it’s almost the same but without app option. A comparison would be nice tho..
Does the dial that you use to select the cooking method have clicks or indentations? As a blind person, if I can count clicks to know which setting I'm on, that's more useful than just turning a dial and hoping I stop at the setting i want.
Hello! Unfortunately it does not. Im curious if the app has any features or if your phones accessibility features could help with that within the app on the Pro Connect.
@@KennasKitchen I just ordered the Connect XL as I got a good deal on it, despite it might be too big for me (i'm single), but I do have gatherings at my place with friends and plan to grill then too. And after I saw Ninja came out with a 50/50 grill/griddle plate, it made more sense to have the XL. I'm looking forward to using it. Won't get it till the 24th this month.
@@KennasKitchenappreciate the response but I went with the smaller one! Already have a traeger pro 34 which is a beast and the smaller ninja is still very fun to use! Have already done burgers (grill+smoke) and lamb shank (sear+smoke) and both turned out very well! Love this little thing so far.
I just got the xl pro. I also have the smaller one. With the xl pro does anyone have an issue where when checking the pellet smoke box or to refill the pellets (when it swings open) some of the ashes falls out on the bottom? How to prevent that. It’s really annoying.
Mines does the same thing… my other issue is that it’s giving my meat a really nasty over smoked flavor… i tried filling it half way and I didn’t taste any smoke because it barely burned. Have you experienced that ?
Its the adjustable stand with an additional side shelf attachment that I have. They do not sell the smaller one now, that the first gen outdoor grill is on.

Fantastic job Kenna! Definitely covered everything, can’t wait to see some cooks on the newest unit! Have a great weekend 🥂🥂
Thanks for the great review. Love from the UK
Thanks for watching! Love from KK

Sorry! I figured you can see the specs on the website but ill keep that in mind for future reviews. Thanks for watching though!!
Thanks Kenna. Good stuff on the two models. 👍
Thanks Andrew!!
Thank you I will be ordering one today..
Congratulations, I know you will love it!
Enjoyed the video. You did a great job. I bought a regular one with a probe before the XL came out and wanted to know the differences.
Glad it was helpful!

Thanks for the great video. What about a comparison of the 2 XL models?
Which other XL model are you referring too?
Ninja Woodfire PRO XL Electric BBQ Grill & Smoker with Smart Cook System OG850EU.. I believe it’s almost the same but without app option. A comparison would be nice tho..
What is the footprint of the XL, how big of a cart should I get, can you messure please? Thanks!

great content... this is why I sometimes hate RUclips... this channel should have wayyy more views
We really appreciate that!!
Awesome comparison! Travis didn't tell you he had you cloned? Sounds like a discussion is in order! 🤣
I know!! Atleast I’ve finally got some help in the kitchen haha
Thank you !!! You are extremely knowledgeable and helpful.❤
You are so welcome!
Is there any reason why the big XL version is only 1800 watts while the smaller version is 2500 watts?
Really wish they made a Connect version of the smaller model.
Yeah, they should have a connect version and basic version of each size in my opinion.

Kenna, Ninja offers a LIFETIME warranty for the Pro Connect XL for $99.00
Hmmm, that could definitely be worth it.
I have the original Woodfire
My wifi has issues outside of my house.... does it need to connect to wifi well for the Pro Connect XL?
I mean, you dont need to be connected to wifi for it to work, but depending on where your grill is, could effect the app control.
When I registered my xl connect model, it only said I had a 1 year warranty
Thats weird? The website currently says there is a 3 year warranty. I wonder if its an older, XL model?
Can you send me the link of that exact stand for the pro xl grill?
Because it’s work with electricity Do you have an idea how much is the electricity bill in a month after using this Ninja woodfire?
That would just depend on how much you use it, but I dont think it would be a significant amount.
Costco has the smaller base one for $299 or should I splurge on the bigger one for $369?
I think the larger one is worth the money!

Not seeing the coupon code 🤷♀️
Im sorry, I haven't been given one :(
Will the grill stand for the regular one fit the XL?
No, it won’t fit.
@@KennasKitchenDo you have any suggestions for foldable stands for the pro connect? Just ordered mine.
I cannot find the correct stand to fit the ninja pro grill. What stand are you using and where can I find it
The stand is offered on their website. You can find it under accessories here geni.us/KKWoodfireHomePage
Its the adjustable stand with an additional side shelf attachment that I have. They do not sell the smaller one now, that the first gen outdoor grill is on.
Perfect thank you very much
You didn’t say anything about the most important thing for this comparison ….why is this different about the 700 watts ?
When you buy it does it comes with stand?
No it doesnt!
Wait, ninja the Fortnite RUclips her.
Do all moms keep hair ties on their wrists?
Absolutely. Its like the Swiss army knife for moms!
They can quickly tie up their hair when they welcome their man properly.
