      Great idea that you share your knowlege , thank you very much! Will you cover how to use the Peekaboo against a Soutpaw?
      and also nuances like how much should a person slip (how big should the slipping movement be)? How to get to superior punching positions (angles) or rather from which positions are the combinations intended?
      How to defend Bodypunches out of the Peekaboo?
      Maybe you have some knowlegde about how Cus developed this style?
      I have read that he liked Beau Jack and Henry Armstrong- why did he felt the necessaty to develop this style instead of teaching their style to his fighters? the initial position of the crouch that Armstrong used protects the body and the weight is on the back foot thus creathing more distance towards the head and the stance is more bladed so it is initially a more advantageous position compared to a square stance
      - however as I perceive the Peekaboo the head must move the whole time (out of the opponent´s centerline) , another nuance would be timing- did cus intent his fighter to move their head constantly when in a threatening range or rather preemtively move the head or press the other guy and move the head only to counterpunch or both?
      Why did Cus create this unorthodox way of slipping side to side? Isn´t it possible to use the normal way of slipping punches with that stye?
      It puts a lot of stress on the lower back (Patterson Tyson both have lower back problems...)
      Also a big aspect: the peekaboo is a system however individualized factors have to be taken into account right?
      Patterson, Torres, Tyson they did not fought exactly in the same manner, could you also make a video about the custumization of the style to an individual(´s needs/attributes)
      Since you learned from D´Amato a video about Fear and the Mind would be great too
      Sorry I have written a lot but all this came to my mind when I saw the video and I had to write it down

    • @MjahedTV
      @MjahedTV 6 лет назад

      thank you for the kind reply!

    • @MjahedTV
      @MjahedTV 6 лет назад

      Another interesting video would be on pivoting and sidestep that is traditionally used in comparion to the Peek-A-Boo way of "twisting" (I am refering to the move that Tyson used against Busther Mathis) ?
      It would also be interesting to hear a D´Amato Student comparing Joe Frazier´s style to the peek-a-boo style.
      Can´t the arms be down to protect the body?(Guard be adaped?) Guys like Herol Graham and Toni Canzoneri did not have their hands up as they used their elusive qualities (Hip and footwork )made up their defense, I ask this because I think that bodyshots can prevent a Peekaboo fighter to come forward as the head moves but he body can be hit, or am I mistaken something? (It did not win him the fight but James Tillis did some good bodyshots against Mike )
      Could you comment on the following statement by Stacey McKinley a former trainer of Mike Tyson:
      "What Cus really did was - Mike’s natural stance was like a boxing stance like Joe Louis. What he did was he took that stance and he reversed it. He reversed Mike. And when he reversed him it was hard to figure out. Well, what is this kid doing in the ring?
      For Cus to come up with that was totally genius. Mike, you know what? Now I understand. Because I knew Blackburn was from Detroit. So we all from Detroit, we’re all Detroit fighters. Eddie Futch, Jack Blackburn, we knew all those boxing guys worked together. That’s why we got a different technique for boxing. Cus learned from Blackburn. Mike ain’t but 5-foot-9 1/2. He ain’t 5-11. He took the perfect style and he reversed it. Mike doing the same thing Joe Louis was doing. Or those fighters that box with that style, but the only difference is it’s reversed. And once you learn it’s reversed, then I got a chance to know him"

      i would love to continue with boxing and kickboxing but at 47 it would be foolhardy to risk brain damage and be assured head trauma causes brain damage,the evidence is overwhelming and as a physician assistant I cannot advocate it.I switched to wrestling and bjj after 40,its not worth the risk now.

    Thank you for your insight into the peak a boo boxing style from Cus. I have been fascinated with this style since it is my favorites boxers style - Mike Tyson. I think it is the perfect style for a shorter boxer and its the only style beside Floyd's that I know of that actually utilizes counters, slips, weaves on the inside. Since Cus died and Tyson doesn't teach boxing, I think your the next best thing. Keep up the great work.

    I have been having issues with my style and stance as of late, I favor my right hand as my jab but I also favor it for my hook so I'd fight southpaw, but it does work. When I'm in orthodox, it still feels uncomfortable but when I tried standing squared up and throwing a few punches, it felt comfortable and more natural. I think I'll train from now on with the peek a boo style and see how it goes, I love it so far.

    When i got ko first time in a streetfight i got flash ko and he kicked me in the face 2 times and that woke me up from my ko . I could not see for a long time after that , my balance was messed up and it felt like i was stuck crossed and looking upwards but i wasnt. He kicked my jaw and my front teeth got all chipped up. I have not been KO since then but i have been beat up by afew (3 ) dudes. Now ive been peekaboo train ing for the last month now. I have 18 combos i do , 3 punch , 4 punch , 5 punch combo s and those combos end with hooks or body hooks and i have to bob and weave after every combo and it makes your hips and thighs tight and solid. I love the peekaboo training.

    • @is1hair
      @is1hair 5 лет назад +9

      I’d assume it would be as natural as an orthodox fighter. Tyson was ambidextrous and applied the style to him in a way for both stances.

    • @christopheranderson8875
      @christopheranderson8875 5 лет назад +3

      Busiest Bee - Tbh it would be the same as an orthodox, because the Stance meant you could have equal power on both hands. And Tyson was knocking people out with his left and right hand.
