    I do hope that we get these types of trains when the line is extended to Navan - and that there will be better rail connections from the Irish Ferries & Stena Terminals at Dublin Port, even if it involves building new lines and/or converting existing lines around the Port to passenger use, as was done with the Phoneix Park Tunnel

    I'll be taking this very trip next month! Can't wait. Glad to hear the transfer in Mallow is easy. Thanks for posting.

      Mallow reminds me of Lladnuo Junction in Wales which is a much better transfer point than Chester when changing trains from Manchester Piccadilly to Holyhead on SailRail - Chester is a real pain as you don’t get enough time to change trains and this got much worse after trains to Liverpool started being brought in - although it says Transport for Wales on the ticket, I ended up so many times jumping on an Avanti train to get to Holyhead in time for the ferry - the point here being that even on Irish trains, changing trains is so much easier, even on the M3 Parkway line from Dublin Connolly via Clonsilla and Broombridge

    Dublin Hueston Station is a much more pleasant station than Dublin Connolly - it is to Dublin what Victoria Station is to Manchester (rather than Manchester Piccadilly)

    That's not a workhouse after portlaoise. Those buildings are in the village loughmore. The first building is an old mill on the river suir. Hanna Sheehy Skeffington (a noted suffragette and political activist) lived in the mill, as a child, while her father rented it. The second building is an old fortified house 'Loughmore Castle' of the Purcell family.

      I know I learned this after I shot the video it looked like a workhouse as we had a similar building in Galway, thanks for the clarification.🙈☘️

    Hello
    We would like to travel from Killarney to Dublin by train is there a regular schedule..
    That's reliable?

    • @travelbyplanestrainsandcruise
      @travelbyplanestrainsandcruise  21 день назад +1

      Hi and welcome to the channel 🤗 yes there is a regular service. This can be found at Irishrail.ie Just type in the destination point to end point in the journey planner and you will see the train times.I would suggest you Reserve a seat before you travel online as the trains will get booked out and if you can choose a direct train there is just one service a day for now or you can change at Mallow Co.Cork for the connecting train.I do hope this helps and have a great journey ☘️

    Though it was an enjoyable journey, appreciation of the countryside was rather marred by the camera being slightly out of focus.
