Goalie Stretches To Do At Home

- No rinks are open, no playoff hockey on TV, quarantine needs to end! In the meantime stay in shape and continue to stretch and workout off the ice so you can be ready when it's time suit up again!
These are some great ideas for goalie specific stretching you can do off the ice. Hold all stretches for thirty to sixty seconds and be sure to stretch at least one a day! Twice if you can. Stay loose, breathe, and be ready to hit the ice!

I do many of these same stretches, some with slight variation, considering that I am soon to be 61 YO an I'm still kicking them out.
I have a small home gym in my basement and I use the steps to stretch, mainly for the pigeon stretch.

Haha that's awesome man!! Keep moving! I met a tennis player once that was 99 years old and he said the only reason he could keep moving was because he never stopped.

Raymond, that’s awesome it show’s a deep love of the game. Keep “Kicking them out” as long as you can man. I’m 57 and as long as the body is willing I will play till I cannot play any more then maybe I will take up playing forward or D it seems easier ;)

Do you do these in reps or just once?
Either or. If I'm warming up before workout, generally I'll do these once but hold them for 10 to 15 seconds. If I'm on a recovery day and stretching out, I may do a few reps but still hold 10 to 15 seconds each.

Hi Matteo! Fold one leg underneath you and stretch the other leg out behind you. Once you get more comfortable with it you can bring your chest down to the ground.
