For anyone visiting the Dynjandi waterfall: Pause to notice the tiny little creek that flows into the sea from this waterfall! It is amazing what a magnificent display can be created with such a minuscule amount of water!
Lucky to have visited Iceland 🇮🇸 4 times since 2016. The only area I haven’t visited is the Westfjords. Looks absolutely amazing. Definitely on my bucket list one day.
Thanks, glad you like it! No but there are fjords / cliffs on every side. It might be there are some small falls but nothing major that we stopped to hike / see :)
did you visit the Hornstrandir Nature Reserve and if so, did you hike Hornbjarg Cliff? that's one of my top choices when I visit Iceland someday, too, I hope to see some artic foxes when I'm at the Westfjords. did you see any whales there?
No we didn't see any whales unfortunately, but did see Hornstrandir Nature Reserve. We didn't do the full hike but we did hike along the Latrabjarg cliffs. Hope this helps :)
Haha it is very beautiful! It is quite expensive (I paid the equivalent of 15 euros for a soup one day!!) but there are ways to get around that I think!
the trick is to try to avoid the tourist places i guess, but still you will always find everything expensive here. but great to sea this video. i am born and raised in ísafjörður, and just moved back there after 13 years in reykjavík
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it! I did, I have the wind protector over my Rode mic, but it was so windy you can hear it anyway! (gives you an idea of how windy it was lol)
I’m in the planning process for our 7 day Iceland trip in April. I can’t decide as to whether we do the whole ring road or if we should veer off and check out the Westfjords and the northern peninsulas. What do you think?
Haha I'm from Italy, but I went to an international school and have been living in London for 6 years, that's why my accent is a bit all over the place! And thanks, glad you enjoyed my video! The Westfjords are awesome, you're going to have a great time there!
Sorry but I can’t understand why did they say that’s the western point in Europe?! The Westernmost point of Europe is in the Azores Islands, which are part of Portugal. The Westernmost point of mainland Europe (which in itself would discard Iceland, as it is an island) is Cabo da Roca, in Sintra, 42 km from Lisbon, Portugal.
Enjoyed the video? Make sure to check out the blog post for more info and photos! gretastravels.com/icelands-best-kept-secret-westfjords/

I loved Iceland, I would move there in a heart beat. :)
I really loved Iceland too! Don't know if I'd live there (not a fan of the cold haha) but would definitely visit again! :)

So beautiful. No wonder my one true love Björk spawned from this wonderful country!!!
I really wish to go. However, is it as expensive as people say?

Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it! I did, I have the wind protector over my Rode mic, but it was so windy you can hear it anyway! (gives you an idea of how windy it was lol)

Loved this video as I plan my next trip to Iceland ( been there twice) with focus on the westFjords. What month did you film this in?
You're going to love the Westfjords! I was there for a week at the start of August :)
Two questions. First, your accent, where you from? :) Second, awesome video. Doing research for my trip in the fjords. Looks brilliant. Thanks!
