Great video as always 👍 keep up the reviews. Just a Shame they are overpriced horse poo, with cheap henglong inards and a diet clark board . Looking forward to the next video 😊

      Hi Ben!
Thanks 🙂 I’ve got a little thing popping up soon.. if you know what I mean, but I have to beg to disagree.
I really don’t have anything to do with Haya, no freebies, because how would you know I wasn’t bigging up stuff and lying.
The Chieftain got me back into rc tank modelling, for the reason its dimension are accurate.
Most of the heng long, taigen, torro, Mato 2ww stuff is all wrong, wrong turret shape, wrong hight of road wheels, wrong dimensions (tongde Bradley for instance).
Haya doesn’t do that, so as a base it’s easy to work on.
The innards are heng long, but so is all there other much bigger brands with massive corporate whack, and massive unit sales. The more units you sell the cheaper you can make a product.
Haya a little company in wales, with limited runs on the vehicles they make, so more expensive, and the tooling for one tank design is I think in the hundred thousand mark, even being made in China (god knows how much over here!) and you need to recoup that cost and make a profit or what’s the point, the company would go bust.
The Clark board is the cheaper one, but to the install the better ones it’s even more expensive product.
The bonus I guess is you can easily swop it out for the better one? I hate the fact Clarke can’t be arsed to change his boards to the new standardised heng long stuff, I hate that you have to retrograde to fit them, and it was the only company Haya could find that did what they needed(that’s why the cent was held up for so long, it’s on the rctankwarfare forum)
The RTR tanks are expensive, if they were factory built, but there as far as I know all hand build by Haya in wales from the base tank, and converted in house by andrew and the other chap from the conversion kits.
Takes a week of time to build it, even at minimum wage for maybe say 20 hours its £270.00 and the paint and materials.
You could get the kit and stick it on a cheap tongde, with too small road wheels, and funky bazooka plate hights.
I’ve run my chieftain a lot, and never had a problem, I might try and fit bearings to the road wheels, but the arms seem to be holding up.
I also like to support a British based company, we don’t have enough of those 🙂
And again I have no affiliation with Haya, if they release something shocking I’ll say, but so far I’m happy with my purchases.
Hope your really well, and I love the work you did on the tongde cent, I was thinking about getting one and comparing them, just looking for a cheaper 2nd hand one.
Thanks for watching Ben, do you own a haya? You could compare them.
      Have a great week!

@mrtankalotrctankschannel thank you so much for a wonderful reply and with so much detail.
I am looking forward to seeing the future projects 😀
Firstly I must apologise I didn't mean to imply you were sponsored content or anything I know you do all the work behind your projects and videos, it's a major part of why your videos are so good.
I have been fortunate to cut several of the haya centurions to pieces for other projects. The bit that I was most impressed with was the bearings on the wheels and final drive it made it very smooth.
I am glad you got back into the hobby as we have these great videos and I would like a cheiftain myself to complete my british mbt family tree but I can't justify haya's price when I am essentially going to strip it and rebuild it even the kit versions are eye Watering expensive.
I do completely understand about costs for small business and especially when they have to develop a product they have to turn a profit. I think in my limited and humble opinion, they just are not worth it unless you really want that tank such as the cheiftain or the new spud especially when it has common components with other manufacturers and overseas development and production even if some is done in Wales. If we look at at other small manufacturers producing tanks currently alot are coming with very similar features to haya for half the price but including metal tracks, gearboxes, roadwheels etc and the built in boards (rebranded henglong boards) have servo elevation and recoil just like the clark boards.
On a side note (adhd brain) the after market gimmel.kit does fit haya and tongde very well 👌
Anyway back to the main feature. The awesome thing about the hobby is there are four centurions to choose from but only 1 cheiftain.... I am sorry if this went sideways 😅 really enjoyed a positive discussion with a good chap. Really liked the t72 by the way and hope to see your next project soon. Are you going to get one of the spuds ?

Arghh I forgot to get back, I was replying to comments by going through the comments on the studio, and I forget it doesn’t show reply’s to comments, doh!.
Maybe at some point, but I’ve not had the time to do sod all modelling for the last month, and I’ve got to get my mojo back.
Hope your very well, and thanks!
      Have a great Sunday!

looks great but sadly it pains me to see F1 style performance from RC tanks. When will this problem ever go away? (

You’re right, even the Tamiya stuff is far too fast. There slowly working on it with the heng long stuff, the Tamiya tiger to get it down needs reducers or very expensive gearboxes.
On the elmod you can completely control the touque and top speed, and IBU, don’t no about Clarke.
      Hope your really well! 🙂

She’s not a looker, and at the time probably an obsolete design at conception!
      Thanks for watching 🙂
