I just brought one myself now im waiting for the chieftain to come back in stock . Ive got the challenger 2 . Already . I love the chieftain as i used to ride on the back of one and my boots were starting to melt lol debusing and clearing the woods of infantry then hop back on the tank at the other side . Early 1980s showing my age 😂
Hi! That’s very cool, whenever you hear a chieftain it puts the fear of god in you! She screams!. And it’s a great model tank too, it’s accurate dimensionally, which is all you really need. The challys okay, the tracks might need one link taking out. Thanks for saying hi, and sorry for tardy reply, my jobs been nuts! And I’ve not had a chance to do any modelling, just that unboxing, there easy to film! Takes no time. Have a great week!
Tamiya goes together wonderfully. It is expensive though. It dose not have a smoke generator, BB unit or operational Coupala traverse. It dose have magnets to hold the rear engine deck in place as well as the top of the turret. The power switch. Battery and CPU are all under the engine deck. No need to remove screws. I upgraded my Centurion with ball berings for the road wheels. Metal tracks from DKLM and home brewed my own head lights with 1mm LEDs. Enjoy your Centurion that tank looks great.
Hi! I would get a Tamiya, but I’m a ginormous kid and like the bb function 😂. I’m really looking forwards to getting into the cent, I’ve got to finish the t-72AV I’m doing, then it’s all guns blazing on the cent. It would be good to compare the two side by side. Thanks so much for watching, it really does mean quite a lot, and makes the process of doing them worthwhile 🙂👍 Have a great Sunday!
I had a Tamiya Centurion on order for over a year, never got it. Hobby shops still can't get one 2 years later. The Haye Centurion is vary nice and I am glad I bought 2 of them. Changed the radio to to a FS-I6s radio, HL modified 5:1 gearbox and the IR emitter in the mantlet where the MG is, Took the BB system out for a Clark recoil. All so have 2 Hays Cheiftains both with YK50s boards and barrel recoil . 46 1/16 tanks so far
THAT! ...is a beautiful machine, I've been waffling back n forth about the different models available in this scale, and the qualities and features I'd like, this one doesn't have them all but it's such a fine example of that beast, a must buy when I'm financially able

It is great isn’t it! You can just get away with painting it, is really a good model. I’m thought there might be a way to mount the smoke unit to the upper hull, the newer 2 part ones.

Mine waddles at slow speed, the solution was to remove the inner bearings from the final drives. The shaft needs only the one bearing to support it on the outside
I've got Andrew to fit metal road wheels from the cheiftain on mine as it'll get a lot of use out doors I'm collecting mine on 23rd as I'm tank driving next weekend

Hi! Yes, as you know the m completely useless with electronics. It drives me nuts Clark doesn’t change his boards to the new style heng long wiring, the whole 8pin hull turret connector is so flipping dated. Elmod do an adaptor to make it plug and play, I wonder if it would work on the Clark board? I’ve got to get another Clark board and see, also to program it you need a fricking Sony tv remote! Why can’t he do a program on the computer to change setting. Good luck! If you get it all working let me know 🙂
I'm sorry that I beat you to it! I've changed over the transmitter and removed the smoker as it's a petrol engined tank. I'll be changing the gearboxes to the Taigen 7.1 gearboxes as they're much better than the standard Heng Wrong gearboxes. I've opted for a Visaton FR7 speaker to replace the Haya one and a proper volume dial. I have already changed over the turret roof and it was a bit of a pain in the arse, the cuppola operates by way of an N20 motor with a worm drive which is powered by a servo board and unfortunately it was hot glued into the turret. The track from the factory is far too tight so I simply opted to add another link either side and now it has a nice amount of slack. The controls are a bit nonsensical so I bound my own FS-i6S transmitter to the supplied board and now it's much better. The transmitter will have to be set to PWM and S-Bus and it's a breeze to bind! I hope you enjoy yours! Mine will be a lengthy project as I really want to make mine into an AVRE for my dad who was an Armoured Engineer for 3 years. Keep on tanking!
