He literally elaborated…
Doesn't this video define what it means to elaborate?
0:42 Flash of text at end: “You won’t be able to unsee the triangle”
I found this method a few months ago, and truly each time I look at my face or sometimes others in sharp lighting, I can see the triangle
This is even more prevalent in movies because of the deliberate lighting
Yeah, it's pretty weird. It's like an overlap that you start imagining being on faces, especially if you study it a bit too much.
Thats kinda annoying tbh
Nah if you are an artist it will be more annoying to see refrences in dialy life and while watching anime and movies

The thing about Rembrandt lighting is that there should be a soft edge shadow at the cheek (since it's a form shadow) while the cast shadow from the nose is hard edged.
And very often there is rim light or reflected light on the jaw line.
thank you for the tip
What's a hard and soft edge?
@@wizard1189 hard edge means line between shadow and non shadow is sharp, while soft the border is blurred
@@kellisuzuki8889 thx
I've seen this type of shading so many times, but I never knew it was named after Rembrandt.
Rembrandt was an evil genius of lighting.
It shouldn’t be
@@thevoidmagician6653 "dutch triangle"
Me: “This new art doesn’t look so bad.”
The drawing: “Did you forget what you came here to do? Give me the Rembrandt lighting.”
*I love how you included the Saul Goodman image.*
I did this by accident when we were told to do lino cut self portraits and I've never forgotten since when my art teacher pointed out "hey you did this thing thats kinda cool"
Dude I thought this person was just gonna rant for fifteen minutes about the rembrant lighting technique yet I found it short and informative!
I learned more about shading in this video then i learned anything in school
This is how art tutorials are supposed to be. Educational but quick to the point and easy to understand.
I sort of got that the triangle is somehow created by the shape of the face, but didnt know how exactly to make it. I think I once tried to google it a long time ago but it didnt help much. But when you broke it down to “shadow on the side of the face + shadow on the brow + shadow of the nose” I finally understood
I've been looking into shading better. This is a cool light angle.
This was always used in Avatar: The Last Airbender and I always thought it looked cool.
Quick and straight to the point. Nice
Him: Throws in a pic of Eren Yeager
Me: ah yes the king of 45 degree lighting
Thank you for the tip, been wanting to make this for some time, but I cannot take it seriously when you suddenly showed Saul Goodman's picture out of nowhere lmao. That picture breaks me everytime.
Thx for the effort man, learning something every day watching vids like these.
I love drawing this kind of lighting too, it’s just more fun and interesting! I had no idea it was called after Rembrandt tho, that’s a pretty cool fact
I love how straight to the point you are
Shading is the hardest challenge Ive had to face when learning how to make my drawings better
Straight to the point as always ♥️
I've been wanting to learn this shadowing for a long time thank you
Finally someone talks about this, thank you
Always had a hard time with shading, thanks for the tip 🙏
Lol

bro gave me a full math and art lesson thanks
For real
You're right, once I've noticed it, now I can't unsee it. Even in real life
Great tip once again =)
Thank you for the shading tips!
This is the most informative 42 seconds I have ever had
Wow a actual short and good explanation not a way too long exaggeration 👍🏼
Wow... straight to the point
Thanks for the tips!! I really wanted to understand how lighting works on faces and this really helped
Wow this is awesome! I love it 😍
then there's me doing the little cheek triangle on every drawing regardless of the lighting
I have never but will now search up lighting schemes, thanks!
I’ll try and do it, thanks for the video keep it up.
Currently searching for this in the middle of the night because of these random thoughts i keep having while trying to sleep
this is what i call a perfect video
Simple, easy, right to the point! thanks sir!
Nice video! So informative! Thank god this video and this channel appeared in my home feed!

*the fact that you chose the angry child for the manga/anime example makes me laugh somehow*
Bro that's Eren
Yoooo thanks for the quick lesson!!!, This helps a lot!!
This something they teach you on fotography, quite useful for sketching reference
wow rly short and to the point ty
We need more people like this
i accidentally picked this up at a young age from watching the dragon prince (which uses a lot of very hard rembrandt lighting) and didn’t know the actual term until i went to art school
bro u make me happy with the last part
"You won't be able to unsee the triangle"
Yo, I didn't ask to be called out..
He's right, I cant unsee the triangle
this was actually pretty useful thanks!
Thanks for the tip!
Why is this so true.
we studied this lighting for a full term in my first and second year of college so whenever i see it now i say "rembrandt" before i can even register what;s in front of my eyes
0:38 Oh I'm breaking them down alright. Breaking them down reaaal bad...
I always use it bc it's the first one I learned

Your voice really represent an artist life

0:37 he just did a Gottem with all of us without us knowing it
3d Saul Goodman was probably the best example.
Even though I’m not an artist I still like your videos
Only lighting i know is shadowing
Really cool, art teacher.
thank you so much, I'm working on a commission right now!
"You won't be able to unsee the traingle"
the fuckin saul goodman at the end broke me so hard
Why does bro sound so done with life 😭
The first thing I thought when I saw a triangle:
✨ILLUMINATI✨
Nope, I won't be able to unsee the triangle
I never unsee these triangles even in real life 💀
"You won't be able to unsee the triangle"
Oh God don't remind me.
I learned more in this video than my geometry class
Pretty cool
As soon as I saw saul goodman, the BCS theme played in my head
ooh , there was a name for it
ive always done it but i never knew why
Radical :DD
Thanks i didn't know it.
This video is like an experience bottle from minecraft, a fast way to level up
this video is a certified breaking bad reference
What this video needs to reach perfection:
-another 10minutes of content while he leads us on
-add this 43second clip onto the end
-fill with ads
This is my favourite type of shading and I didn't even know it had a name ToT
I love his videos they are so short
Bro literally has Peak Lighting/Shading knowledge for arts
The saul goodman pic caught me off guard lmfao
I found this tip when I got bored started drawing
WOO FINALLY
Finally I can draw Saul Goodman staring, thank you
