Don't get me wrong, I really enjoy the intro. What's got me more intrigued is that it says "gen:LOCK Season 1 Intro". The keywords being "Season 1",
"Volumes" were RWBY's thing. I'm glad gen:LOCK didn't copy it.
well that means that they already planed several seasons. when they started rwby they had planed several volumes ahead to i think
RvB was always seasons too, and you know there was no way this show would be a one and done with the hype they have pushed for it.
the unknow yea I believe RWBY has plans for at least 10 volumes if I remember correctly. Monty had the whole thing outlined for all the big things he wanted to happen.

This series already has me curious about the characters. Truthfully, I had Sinclair pegged as a traitor from just the poster of him and the others. And Chase's status as a barely living torso and arm in a tank was perfectly horrifying.
This has the same problems as uprising. Mechs weighing hundreds or thousands of tons floating around like ballerinas.
Soviet Onion that is a fair point, although I think there is a distinction between the holons and other mechanized armor in the show.
@@sovietonion3937 TBF they're obviously using a specific system (the wings on their backs that we haven't seen in-show yet) to do it, instead of "we're giant robots we do what we want"

Then there's stuff like Seed and Turn-A where the main character wants both sides to stop fighting. Even in the original series, Zeon wasn't really evil until Zabis took over and dropped that colony on Sidney.

Even if he was never directly involved, he was the one who transformed RT from purely an internet comedy production company to an up and coming animation company with a bunch of internet comedy productions as well. @@drpepperman2765 Well who every started red vs blue was like half the help, but when monty started adding animation, that's when RT's gears started to turn in click. The guy who made red vs blue simply placed the gears while monty adding in animation made them turn.

As somebody who has never seen Gen:lock and only knows of it cause of the Paladins collab, i find it amazing that the skins' weapons are perfectly accurate to the mechas' weapons

Saw them myself. I pegged Sinclair as a traitor, knew Kazu's mech would be the team heavy, Valentina would pilot a stealth and sniper style mech, Cammie's would emphasize gadgets and agility, and that Madrani and Chase would be the team flyers. Chase's injuries were perfectly horrifying and depressing. Being trapped in that pod must be a living nightmare.

@@npc2792 rwby is great. As with all fantasy, you have to appreciate the universe and its laws they've set up, not just focus on the writing and plot holes. I love rwby.
One subtle detail I just noticed at 0:46, you can see Chase in Miranda's Visor, looking back, before the camera pans out to the gen:LOCK team. Symbolizing that the bond they share is strong, even through everything that's happened. Chase is always ready to defend his friends, no matter the cost.

Watched both episodes and there seems to have been close to no compromises when making this. It looks mostly great, voice acting is solid and the writing so far is as good as it could be in this setting. Exciting to see where they'll go with it.
The Round Table Michael B Jordan is monotone and the ending to the second episode was dumb.
My only problem so far is miles doing the voice of the mexican mec guy, it doesn't feel right imo

Season 2 is currently on HBO MAX but the episodes will be on the RT website once the 90-day period is up. Meaning after the 90 days is up Gen:Lock Season 2 will leave HBO MAX and come to the RT Website. And from what I've seen on HBO MAX season 2 is actually pretty good.

As much as the constant advertisements have been irritating me, this show looks amazing.
Check out the first episode on the site. It surprised me, how good it was.

This series had a mix of voltron, gundam and pacific rim, I have to be honest, I went into this expecting something predictable, I was happily surprised to see some effort was genuinely put into making simple storylines stand out.

Technically any animated show is considered anime, at least in Japan. People get upset about that in the US for some reason. I agree that Avatar, Gen:Lock, and RWBY are good shows that rival the quality anime in Japan.
Please do not compare Avatar to RWBY....they arent even close in terms of greatness. Havent see Gen:Lock so I wont say anything about it.

Just wanna say after watching it that I really appreciate this show’s message. “Diversity is good and only makes societies stronger; also violent extremist monocultures are generally bad” is something I wish people didn’t need to be told, but as it stands, with things are the way they are right now, it’s comforting to see the people responsible for making our pop culture trying to spread positive messages like that.

If I had heard this tune on its own, I would've thought "meh, its ok but not really my style". However having now watched all of Gen:LOCK, this track is just perfect combined to the visuals of this intro. I have a theory that Chase is actually in a comma (or some other condition that means he's bedridden) because we always see him disappear and reappear (holograms) and at the end of the intro when we see Chases face it glitches and for a few seconds you can see he's hooked up to machinery and looks beat up. He even has some other differences like hair, clothes and eye color.

If anyone cares to know if it's good or not, check out the first episode for yourself. I personally was surprised by how good it was, writing, animation, dialogue, and all. It may take some getting used to the frame rate that they chose to go with here, but that's only the case for "out of combat" scenes. During combat, it's at a normal frame rate, didn't bother me at all though.
I thought the pilot and episode two were going to be released free then after its paid.(Episode one released first. Episode 2 a week later. Then first only.)
