    Edgar Wright, besides being a brilliant filmmaker, has a childlike enthusiasm and sense of wonder when talking about movies that you can't help but love listening to him.
    Thanks as always, Josh! You're the best.

      I know. He’s like Tarantino’s geeky little brother. Tarantino can be a bit of a nit picker when it comes to movies whereas Edgar lives everything with golden retriever like energy.

    As both a Canadian and a Torontonian, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World was my favourite film of 2010. So many Easter Eggs in a major motion picture about my city taking place IN my city, without it doubling for New York, or Chicago or another American city like it does 99.9% of the time. And to have a Canadian in the lead role, we don't get that kind of representation in Hollywood often!

    This is making me reminisce about my experiences watching Baby Driver and Last Night in SoHo in the theaters. Then trying to get posters for both films, afterwards.

    I think it is much harder to make a genuinely fun movie than it is to make one that is “thought-provoking”. Cornetto Trilogy, Scott Pilgrim, and Baby Driver are just fuuunnnn.

    Without a doubt, Edgar Wright is my favorite British director of all time, and "Hot Fuzz" is my favorite film of his.💯

    I’m so glad somebody is doing a more faithful movie version of The Running Man. I read and loved the book in the ‘80s and while the Schwarzenegger film is fun, it has very little to do with the book. It’s gonna be great!

    Do the films you want to do not the films you ought to do. Do something that is passionate, full of fire and energy.
    If you care a fan of a movie franchise, and you love it or like it alot. You don't have to join them to make or direct a film for the studio to fuck it up. You dont have to be that person for people to hate.

    terminator was not an original screenplay, they had to acknowledge the original story by harlan ellison in the credits

    The problem is that films cost more money to make than they have in decades past. Movie ticket prices are going up and the economy isn’t doing great, which means that audiences are going to the theater less - and when they do, it’ll be for something that they already have a relationship with. Films need to earn a lot of money just to break even. A studio can’t invest a whole lot of money into original films when they typically lose money.

    Edgar Wright goes off on Disney... without mentioning them, but obviously is talking about them, because he doesn't want to make a headline, but simply cannot help himself, but wants to hide under the veil of "Well I didn't say their name! So that makes it okay".
    Come on man, just say it or don't, this halfway house in the attempt to save face is ridiculous. You don't like what they're doing, that's fine, but this style of criticism from writers, actors, directors and journalists has become tiresome. Either pipe up properly, and say it with chest, or keep it to yourself.

    • @joewilson4492
      @joewilson4492 9 месяцев назад +3

      Right, yeah let’s tell him to go for it and potentially prevent future work with them, or certain actors because he has an opinion on them. Think realistically man

    • @J_Tevo
      @J_Tevo 9 месяцев назад +1

      @@joewilson4492 THEN JUST DONT SAY ANYTHING THEN!!!
      That's my whole point, if you're gonna heavily hint towards something, with obvious references that link to a specific thing, that everyone understands what you're talking about, you've already crippled those potential future projects, because we all know yu have an issue with Disney. If he does a Star Wars project in the future, these quotes are now already there!
      Not adding their name doesn't just hide the bullet holes he's just shot into the wall. You think Disney executives would hear this interview and go "I HaVe No IdEa wHO hE's TalkInG ABoUt". Of course not, so like I said, either commit to the criticism or just shut it.

    • @rickard3137
      @rickard3137 9 месяцев назад +10

      To be fair, his critique could easily be ascribed to many differennt studios and IP handlers, and he probably did try to cast a bigger net than just disney

    • @makeshift_python
      @makeshift_python 9 месяцев назад +2

      @@rickard3137correct. This is an industry problem rather than a specific studio. Disney wasn’t the one that tried kickstarting three separate trilogies of the Terminator films and watched them all underperform.
