      When you ask who really benefits by the Israeli-Hamas war the answer I come up with is China and Russia. It has has slowed aid to Ukraine and the west is spending resources in helping Israel and the Palestinians. The losers are Hamas and Benjamin Netanyahu, Palestinians and the Israelis. To some extent Ukraine also is losing in that the attention of the world which is now on the Israeli-Hamas war which benefits Putin.

      I would totally agree with you, he's a master manipulator and spends years laying the ground work to all of these Russian wars with propaganda and the narrative been fed to the Russian populace for years making them believe all sorts of nonsense as fact. Then usually kicks hostilities off with a false flag operation for the pretense of defending themselves and in so justifying said hostilities. The few dissenters are quickly denounced and silenced by harsh repression retaliation to dissuade any others from such actions bringing the rest into line quickly. This has worked very well for Putin until the FSB's dropping the ball with regard to Ukraine and it's will to resist Russia from it's perceived one to two week operation to takeover and reports to Putin that they would be welcomed by the majority of Ukrainians to the Russians. No doubt things have not gone to plan and it's been a catastrophe for Russia not that they will admit it

    Brilliant interview. Answered a lot of questions I had, about Strelkov, about the protest this week, Putin's lack of friends was very interesting too. "Putin's not a chess player." That's obvious. Konstantin on "Inside Russia" started off saying that he didn't believe that Putin died. Now, with certain events and comments in Russia, he's not sure. He said that if Putin doesn't announce his candidacy by December 13th, maybe?

    • @pierresaelen3097
      @pierresaelen3097 6 месяцев назад +2

      I was also thinking about Konstantin's most recent (and excellent) videos on this subject while listening to Mark about how Putin was playing his cards at that BRICs meeting, and I wondered:
      - was this the real Putin (I can't see any of his stand-ins to play this game as well);
      - was this an imprisoned Putin who's to collaborate to secure his survival;
      - was this a deadly ill Putin who knows his leash of life is almost over and wants to play it adroitly till the end;
      - was this a Putin who wants to stave off a coup by showing how great a player he still is on the international scene;
      - was this a Putin still firmly in control?
      For now, with what we know this BRICs Putin seems to contradict those other signals Konstantin referred to.
      Time will tell.

It´s isolation tactics and psychological torture, because if you tell someone about them, they´ll be like "What are you talking about? Are you having paranoia attacks or something? He´s such a friendly, kind man!" You´ll be alone with your vague fear, not able to get any help.

    Mark Galeotti is incredibly well-informed and always worth listening to. But it makes a difference if the interviewer is good too. Kate McCann asks the right questions, listens, doesn't interrupt, and lets the interviewee complete his answer. Galeotti describes the polarisation , either "with me or against me" ...British have decided. Here is Johnsons speech on 24 Feb 2022 ...defining "whose side we are on".
    Mr Speaker,
    I have just come from a meeting of G7 leaders, joined by Secretary General Stoltenberg of NATO, and with permission I will update the House on our response to President Putin’s onslaught against a free and sovereign European nation.
    Shortly after 4am this morning, I spoke to President Zelenskyy of Ukraine as the first missiles struck his beautiful and innocent country and its brave people, and I assured him of the unwavering support of the United Kingdom.
    And I can tell the House that at this stage, Ukrainians are offering a fierce defence of their families and their country and I know that every Hon Member will share my admiration for their resolve.
    Earlier today, Putin delivered another televised address and offered the absurd pretext that he sought the “demilitarisation and denazification of Ukraine”.
    In fact he is hurling the might of his military machine against a free and peaceful neighbour, in breach of his own explicit pledge and every principle of civilised behaviour between states, spurning the best efforts of this country and our allies to avoid bloodshed.
    For this, Putin will stand condemned in the eyes of the world and of history: he will never be able to cleanse the blood of Ukraine from his hands.
    And though the UK and our allies tried every avenue for diplomacy until the final hour,
    I am driven to conclude that Putin was always determined to attack his neighbour, no matter what we did.
    Now we see him for what he is: a bloodstained aggressor who believes in imperial conquest.
    I am proud that Britain did everything within our power to help Ukraine prepare for this onslaught,
    and we will do our utmost to offer more help as our brave friends defend their homeland.
    Now we have a clear mission:
    diplomatically, politically, economically - and eventually, militarily - this hideous and barbaric venture of Vladimir Putin must end in failure.
    At the G7 meeting this afternoon, we agreed to work in unity to maximise the economic price that Putin will pay for his aggression. And this must include ending Europe’s collective dependence on Russian oil and gas that has served to empower Putin for too long.
    I welcome again Chancellor Scholz’s excellent decision to halt the certification of Nord Stream 2.
    Mr Speaker, countries that together comprise about half of the world economy are now engaged in maximising the pressure, economic pressure, on one (Russia) which makes up a mere 2 per cent.
    Above all, the House will realise the hard and heavy truth that we now live in a continent where an expansionist power, deploying one of the world’s most formidable military machines,
    is trying to redraw the map of Europe in blood, and conquer an independent state by force of arms
    and it is vital for the safety of every nation that Putin’s squalid venture should ultimately fail and be seen to fail.
    However long it takes, that will be the steadfast and unflinching goal of the United Kingdom,
    And I say to the people of Russia, whose President has just authorised an onslaught against a fellow Slavic people,
    I cannot believe that this horror is being done in your name or that you really want the pariah status that these actions will bring to the Putin regime.
    And to our Ukrainian friends in this moment of agony, I say we are with you, and we are on your side.
    Your right to choose your own destiny is a right that the United Kingdom and our allies will always defend.
    And in that spirit I join you in saying slava Ukraini.
    And I commend this statement to the House".
    PASSED UNANIMOUSLY 24 February 2022
    (Transcript of the speech, exactly as it was delivered is on UK.Gov website)..
