Excellent session. I recently returned to finish a long abandoned PoliSci BA, was astounded at how little we discussed techno-politics. I brought this up multiple times with my professors and they agreed but did not seem particularly engaged on the topic. Tech LITERALLY is driving our politics at all levels.

I agree with you that this wars more or less a pointless discussion. Re taking Kiev, that could mean different things to diferent people. He was certainly a couple of miles away from Kiev but what he wanted, as I understand it was, to quash the current administration of Ukraine - Zelensky - intsall a puppet government that would slowly but ultimately suppress all free MEDIA, neuter JUDICIAL independence, destroy or drastically CIVIL SOCIETY and suppressed all Political Opposition same as he did in Russia so that he remains supreme untill he dies. Remember that if Putin were to lose control of the Media, The Judiciary, Civil Societies, and Opposition leaders and not to be able to somehow get rid of their leaders; what he did to Magnitsky and why he died (since everything is documented) would be enough to jail him for life. And now the illicit invasion of Ukaine - the invasion point alone - which no one supports including China, India and all; and the atrocities that obviously followed since today we can all see Huge Ukrainian cities completely burned and wiped out for ourselves on TV; that was a huge mistake which has placed him in real tangible dire straits. And unfortunately he cannot turn back time.

Brilliant insights shared, which resonate, on the topic of AI being used by, for example, authoritarian regimes.
Beyond the current and ongoing initiatives to regulate the (monstrous) capacities in AI, do we have any plans carved out to shortlist Governments, Corporates or Associations, who currently develop, deploy or emable the use of bad cyber governance or AI, unauthorised, illegal, and/or "tweaked" to the detriment of our inner most conscience and privacy, breaking all human rights, relationships, and chances at finding or establishing new relationships, new business, and new work, including in foreign, grand nations. The war in Ukraine is a polarizing issue in the states. One side doesn’t want to be involved while the other wants a repeat of Iraq and Afghanistan. The us could barely keep Afghanistan together. If they go in to Ukraine, it would be a disaster. The only way out is a settlement where Ukraine commits to remain neutral and stay out of nato and Russia withdraws from eastern Ukraine.

@@hoodlifter23LOL the media has been lying about Ukraine's so called "counter offensive". The fact is there has been no progress and Russia's Black Sea fleet is not any less effective today than it was a month ago. Russia is a military machine, its not some backwater country like Iraq. Ukraine is not even winning, its just that the Russians are not advancing as they have reserved troops in case NATO joins the war. Ukraine is stuck in a quagmire. With millions fleeing the country as refugees and young men dying in battle, the future of the country looks bleak. The only way out is a peace deal. Earlier Ukraine had more of a bargaining chip, but now they will have to agree to Russia's terms.
