I miss clasic MMORPGs when you really needed ranged classes in dungeons like mages for big BOOM BOOM with big DMG numbers. In new world nearly every 2h melee gets bigger numbers than me and they are more tanky than me. So yeah...I understand why some ppl don't need mages in dungeons. Up to M1 it's not a problem to find groups. For M2 and higher it's difficult.
Indeed. However, I believe that in a privet party Mage can still be useful and can drop a lot of damage. But then you need the other 2 dps to have Spear/GA/GS and maybe Hatchet. This way you will achieve good rend/weaken :)
Hello, i didnt notice if you say on the video or not, mayeb you do, but what about the perks on the gear? and the gear is with int or strenght? sorry for asking m8 =)
Apart from the 4 mentioned perks, you can take whatever :) Health would be nice, but not mandatory. Also for INT or STR doesn't matter, as you can slot your points to make the split.
whats the point of going 300 in str and int rather than just all into intelligence? Wouldnt you be sacrificing fire staff damage? also what gems would you use with this build? Thanks for the video btw I enjoyed it alot.
If you put everything in INT you will lose a lot of value. The reason for that is that each point after 350 will have diminishing returns which means you will get less value. If you split the points to 300-300 you will get a bit lower damage on the Fire Staff, but maybe x2 to x2.5 higher damage on the Blunderbuss. For gems I use T2 elemental on both. You can choose the element to match the weakness of the dungeon.
@@Lidiq- thanks soo much for the reply! That really cleared things up. I look forward to seeing what next you put up :D Also how did you get so much attribute points? Thanks for helping me
Hello, im a mage and im doing my build right now with full fire harnessing on every armor piece and i was wondering, should i focus on health and stacking 4/4 refreshing for max dps for cds OR should i go for 2/4 refreshing and go for some Elemental evasion + fire harnessing + health so i have some more resistance. I play fire staff with fire ball + dash + pillar and ice gauntlet with spike to mostly go for hard bursts of damage to one shot people. Thank you !
Health is highest value defensive perk and second to it is enchanted war. Aversion is not that good anymore while still can be used here and there. If you want to do damage 4 refreshing should be a must for any mage build. :)
@@magiclol1 If you choose to have Shirking Empower on your amulet instead of Stamina recovery you can also drop the Harnessing as you will have again high empower. However, not running stamina recovery is quite risky and many people prefer to have it to feel safe :)
@@Lidiq- i guess i could go the champions amulet, can't you stack fire harnessing + shirking empower ? I dont really have escaping problems with stamina as i have nimble + fire dash + ice block so unless its a 1 v 10 i dont mind not having stamina recovery
@@magiclol1 Empower is stacking from all sources. The cap is 50% but there are other details for it as well. I have a video about my choice of empower sources which might help :)
Correct. I play with T2 Topaz in PvP and hence I used my staff in that case. The thing that you are saying is no longer a case in New World, as they removed all negative damages vs enemy types. At the moment you can only have positive (fire vs Angry or arcane vs Corrupted) types and bonus damage. This opens up a bigger variety of usage for the weapons.
I've been ripping through M3s running Musket/Rapier, have to make my own groups though bc most people don't realize how much damage musket can pump now
Great explanation on Weaken debuff. It helps me.

Real, back then mages were damage dealers and melee took aggro.
Thanks. A good option when you are looking for variety in dungeon builds.

Is that a topaz gem on your FS? Angry Earth takes 40% less lightning dmg in mutations!!!

So you can’t run 3 enfeebling skewers cuz it doesn’t stack ?
Correct. Even worse, if you have skewer on weapon and someone does now, but he applies it, it might overwrite it and lower the weaken :)
musket goes through multiple enemies, without using an ability.
