One of the campiest characters of this show-and THAT is saying something. :p Victor Buono, who played King Tut, was a classically-trained actor who starred in Shakespearean productions and received an Oscar nomination for “Whatever Happened to Baby Jane?” Despite this pedigree, though, Buono loved the role and came back several times precisely *because* Tut was so ridiculously over the top. He even happily bragged that being on “Batman” gave him the excuse to do something he’d been told never to do-OVERACT! :p Thanks for the laughs, Mr. Buono. :D
My favorite scene is where he abducted Robin , Robin says " You just wait until Batman gets here !!". Tut retorts , " You just wait Nah, nah , nah nah!!!, ...TAKE HIM AWAY !!!". His retort is done in childish tone.
Buono could overact with the best of them, but that's what made him likeable in this role. But he was a very versatile actor who could do drama, horror, and comedy with equal aplomb. He was great in Who's Minding The Mint as the Captain--that shot of him going down with the ship is classic--and he was amazing in Whatever Happened to Baby Jane? Pity he died so young.
I love the "Now dance for our amusement. Music! BAT Music!!!!". And he just happened to have a Bat Music 33 record on hand. Now that's a well prepared villain lol
dude. that's the joke. the whole point is that he is far from feasibly being king tut as possible. (tutankhamen was also 18 or 19 when he died). he has this delusion from being bonked on the head too many times.
If there's one series-only villain I would want to see in a movie this would be it. The only problem would be finding someone who could match Buono's performance
While King Tut is series only, in spirit I will always maintain that he was adapted into Maxie Zeus in every other medium because Zeus has Tut's spiel down to a T, sans switching Egypt for Greece
One of my favorite villains from the 60’s Batman TV show… Wish they could have incorporated this character in Batman the Animated series in the early 90’s…
If you have a handsome appearance & great personality, Nefertiti would desire some quality private time with you! My 4th ex-girlfriend Kim Beaudry ONCE told me: "BLONDES tease, brunettes please"! Meaning brunette women ♀️ are better & willing to fulfill a guys desires!
6:18 Yo that Egyptian DJ is the GOAT! He had "BAT" music ALREADY cued up before King Tut even called for it. He knows his crowds 💯 with Spidey sense precision.
My understanding is DC couldn't use Tut since he was created for Fox studios. Maxie was a work-around. I've never seen stories with him but understand he's played seriously. So whoever wanted to utilize Tut clearly missed the point.
"I kept my sanity by reciting the multiplication tables backwards." Classic.
Thought you'd unhinged me, did you?!
RIP Victor Buono (February 3, 1938 - January 1, 1982), aged 43
You will be remembered as a legend.
Victor Buono and I share the same birthdate Feb 3. I loved him as King Tut.
I can understand the main villain dressing a certain way but I always wondered how they convinced their henchmen to do it too.

He is like Brian Blessed in Flash Gordon. Just having a blast doing his role.
4:30 I’ll bet anything he just did that to try and make the actress crack 😂
@@KingGhidorah5464 I suspect she did crack... Just watch her turn away as Tut gets in her face. And then the edited, immediate cut says it all...
He was the Best of the villain gang
@@richardjezewski The only one who wasn't part of the big 4 who appeared in all 3 seasons.
ALL HAIL TO KING TUT

Tut retorts , " You just wait Nah, nah , nah nah!!!, ...TAKE HIM AWAY !!!".
His retort is done in childish tone.
Underrated villain.
He’s easily the most underrated comic book villain I’ve seen in tv or movies. Mainly due to Buono’s perfect over acting.
King Tut was the best original villain on the show.
Agreed, though Shame and Egghead both came pretty close.
@JimmyWhisperKing Tut predates Maxie Zeus.
So did the Bookworm.
@@nicholasfarrell5981what might’ve helped Egghead was the fact he was played by Vincent Price
He was the best villain in the show. He's my favorite, no questions asked!
I was so happy to see King Tut in the Lego Batman Movie.
That pharaoh dude ran a pretty tight ship. His concubine was pretty smoking too.
She married my friend's TV producer father. It didn't last.

I also enjoyed his performance as Count Carlos Mario Vincenzo Robespierre Manzeppi in the Wild Wild West TV show. Ah, such talent, such style
When did he die? How did he die?
@@masongarrett3066 Died in 1982 from a heart attack.
@@jessfrankel5212 Thank you so much
He was a truly unique character and he played the parts of outlandish villains with relish
The Great Victor Buono… a very talented thespian
I remember king tuts vehicle was a old Ford truck cheaply spray painted gold.. lol!!
Victor Buono owned this role!
I love the "Now dance for our amusement. Music! BAT Music!!!!". And he just happened to have a Bat Music 33 record on hand. Now that's a well prepared villain lol
I love Joker, Riddler, Mr Freeze......but Tut is the most over the top villian on Batman.
👍
❤ king tut too
the most whitewashed villain of all. they couldn't even bother to get someone who looked dark skinned. its very cringeworthy
No! Egghead is.

@@kristopherryanwatson good lord man go away
Between this role and Count Manzeppi on the Wild Wild West, Buono's role is unbeatable. Catch him on any show and he kicks it up several notches.
Loved him on Wild, Wild West, too!
Voyage to the bottom of the sea also.
As someone once said, when Victor Buono was made, the mold was ALREADY broken.
If there's one series-only villain I would want to see in a movie this would be it. The only problem would be finding someone who could match Buono's performance
John Lithgow comes to mind, but he's likely retired.
I'm thinking Nathan Lane or Jack Black

This man was 28 years old at time of filming
Yeah I am having a hard time processing that. As a kid I thought he crazy old dude.
A great character he nailed it.
King Tut is the king of all villains.
EYE SEE what you did there
5:24 exchange is actually hilarious. “Speed it up!”
My fav villian was the riddler. Frank Gorshin was great in that role with his heinous laugher!🤣
i liked gorshin. but i lived john astin even more - he was just super charismastic.
I loved king tut as a kid he was so funny
one the best villains there was all down how he was played. you could never replace such a wonderful actor such a victor buono.
You cut out the best part! When Batman and Nefertiti dance the Batusi!
this guy was just hilarious and a very big ham
Victor Buono - what a talent. Gone too early.
i loved the hammy acting by sid haig as the apothecary. i wish they'd had him in more episodes.
He was only 28 when he 1st played this role
Really;; brilliant
After Caesar Romero's Joker, His King Tut is my 2nd Favorite Batman villain character!!!
The only Bat villain Steve Martin ever sang about. (I think)
6:37 holy Star Trek sound effect, Batman! 😁🤣
some remarkably good acting in this series which was basically a live action comic book
R.I.P. Sid Haig.
He was so young here.
Sid Haig wasn't in this. He appeared in the next King Tut episode of the second season.
“Whatever will the dean say?” best line said by Victor Buono
King Tut, False Face and Egghead were among my favorite Batman Villains in the Dozier-Verse.
I went to school with a guy named Josh Baker in Holland Michigan and he looked exactly like this.
I was pointed to this old Batman villain. I was not disappointed. Thanks for posting this.
Nefertiti played by Ziva Rodann.
THANK YOU SUPER SAM HAD A LOT OF FUN WATCHING THESE XXXXXX
He's so hammy and I like it.
I love this guy....
king-Tut 4 president
thanks for this, love him!
I love it when the people on stage with Buono are trying not to laugh.
Loved him as King Tut.
“Nefertiti … we could have you filleted for that.” As campy as he was, there was a menacing undertone that was necessary to keep it all going.
5:41 me when my package is taking too long and I have to call them
Same 😂
King tuts acting is on point
Egghead, Lord and Lady Fog, King Tut - holy shooting guest stars, Batman!
My favorite villain in the entire series. I wish he'd been added to the comics back then, but alas.
1 good thing you can say about Tut he has a HOT chick in Nefertiti.

Just imagine, in the future, The Avengers and all other super hero movies will look how this does to us now.
Victor Buono.
first time for me to see , very funny
All hail Plankton
Ok after King Tut was ejected from the batmobile, there was no reason for Batman to punch him
❤king tut,& lee Meriwether
I remember I had a nightmare about king tut watching a Batman episode when I was about 6
Another important note, the Tut episodes were written by Stanley Ralph Ross.
2:49 This is a kids show?!?!
It's one of those shows that's for kids or adults but they will get different things out of it.
Damn I wish bollywood had the same video quality back then 😕
