- So in this video I attempted playing KOF '94. This is my first time playing a KOF/SNK game. Obviously I get destroyed by the CPU and absolutely lose my mind. I had fun tho, and it made for a pretty great video! Lmk what other SNK games I should try next!

There are 3 inevitable things in life.
1. Death
2. Taxes
3. Choi and the Psycho Soldier team being annoying to fight
Can't blame you for RQing, those games are hard as hell... a few tips if you ever want to try again though...
1. You should block way more, sometimes is better to wait for the CPU to screw up and capitalize on that.
2. You throw by going forward and High Punch for Forward Throw or forward and High Kick for Back Throw.
3. Stop using a lot of unsafe moves in neutral, you got your ass kicked way too much because of this.
4. Use your dodge move and your power bar, they're there for a reason, specially the power bar can make your moves stronger just by having it full, and you get access to a super by using it.
I hope this helps if you ever try again on any other 2D Fighting Game... oh and BTW... Level 4 is the CPU Level, it can go up to Level 9 😆

@@OnscreenmoonFull meter and heavy attacks make your hits much more powerful. Don't bother with the supers. Also the art of fighting team is powerful because they are from a game that created supers and have some powerful specials.

The boss in this game is very cool. One of the evilest cockiest cheapest bosses. His name is Rugal and his genocide cutter is will eat your health bar. He is also banned in 2002
This is exactly what i was looking for. A player who played snk games for the first time.
And also, don’t feel bad about not being able to handle the cpu. SnK games are notoriously hard from the 92-95 period. They just wanted your arcade money baaaadly. After 96, they made the cpu less strict. Hope you’re having fun. Will binge your snk videos! Cheers and wish you all the success! Also cheers for playing official versions on consoles!

it's crazy how the CPU instantly punishes every jump in this game, at least in the latest games they save the cheap stuff for the final boss

KOF 94 is brutally hard, I never touched that episode I started with KOF 95 .
SNK fight games are modern torture devices specially those from early to mid 90s
First opponent feels like the last boss
Excellent video highlighting how unforgiving this series can be to newcomers. My first KOF was 99' and got it for the PSP back when i was in the navy to kill those fighting game urges I would get sitting around on watch duties. It was not until years later that I tried 94 and on and it was an eye opening experience. The AI will imput read you and humble you for just throwing out specials or even jumping in most cases. Just wait until you experience the bosses in these games! There is a reason that the SNK boss syndrome is a thing in the FGC. The hardest ones, in my opinion, are KOF 95, 96, and 2001. Rugal is absolutely no joke and is legenardy for his cheap phyco cutter BS. Goneitz will just slap you with tornados all day long, and igniz with combo you infinity with meterless supers. I wish you the best if you decide to the others out! They are insanely hard games, but completely worth it to master.

honestly it's just 94 and 95, CPU is programmed to input read you in those games. They stopped doing that shit in 96.

@TSNMLitoFightingGamesPassion Of course. The game is not any different from Street Fighter or most fighting games from the 90s. All the same principles applies even if you only played more modern 2D fighting games. Come on now.
Hey, don't feel bad. The AI in the older KOF games is known for being quite cheap. Like Mortal Kombat 2 levels of cheap. I seriously have to play the older games on the easiest difficulty setting to even make these games playable for myself otherwise I would never touch these games. The AI becomes a lot better to deal with in the later games starting with KOF '96.

As soon as i saw extreme rage in the thumbnail i was like "YES!" I would've felt like victory if i beat one of those teams too! Btw i heard the kof bosses are very cheap.
Also, this will be the second time that i suggest Arcana heart 3.
(I know you may have seen me suggest it on an earlier video and are probably already considering it, so If you dont want me to repeat a suggestion please let me know.)
But yeah from what ive seen, the boss in Arcana heart 3 is SO FUCKING CHEAP! Probably even one of the CHEAPEAST fighting game bosses of all time. And i think that it would definitely make rage incarnate lol.

It's not a combo fighting game... It's a hunting one... Next time, try hadouken and shoryuken with each character you choose with both punches and kicks... Every character has at least 4 special attacks... Regards from Mexico
The 3 games have some of the hardest difficulty. It starts getting less hard on KOF97. Although 96 has mobility.
To grab you just need to press forward and any strong attack. If you charge (hold ABC) your attacks get a damage bonus. If you Lear a few combos you will feel the game easier, because the damage in this game is really big. And there arealways the Desperation Moves when you are low health
No, SNK games are just very difficult in general

no your not alone in this one, i can relate pretty much , i pick Italy also as my first try on this game caming from months of playing fatal fury 2, thinking it was the same, i just got beaten by a single character also, i came bback in this game i ended up mastering the mexico and brazil team instead, though i only got the chance to beat the bot, and some other challenges not even tournament just casual playing games in the arcade, hey just saying keep it up, easieast to learn for me is mexico youll get the hang on all 3 as their moves are almost pretty similar to each other, still practice makes perfect, if you already got frustrrated wait till you get to the final boss Rugal
janky? this was the most forgiving in terms of input for special moves snk had released in a while. this was the first time playing a snk fighter felt anywhere as responsive as super sf 2. if you're gonna quit a kof game, leave fatal fury and art of fighting alone.
Yeah, I didn’t know if it was going to be “janky” or not. I just assumed it was gonna control wonky cuz of its age. It controlled p good ngl.
@@Onscreenmoononce you pick up on the gameplay, kof is gonna get really fun. you can juggle by chaining certain special moves back to back. you can even chain special into desperations for instant kills. kof relies a lot on footsies and punishing cuz many of the special moves aren't safe on block.
KOF94 is janky. It's the 1st game.
@@sladejosephwilson2300just because its the first of the series doesn't mean the controls are unresponsive. snk released nearly a dozen other fighters before it to refine how they want them to play.
have you played it? its as easy to combo as all of the other sprite based kof games. your reason is nonsensical. it definitely has balance issues but every fighting game does.
