Hi!
I hope this video helps. Sorry if It’s rough or If I’m missing anything out. I’m not used to talking about my workflow but hopefully I’ll get more used to it! I plan to do many more videos so be sure to subscribe and keep checking out the channel! Thanks for all your support so far,
Scott
Hi mate. The next thing I’m unsure about is what all the different keyboard commands your using and what they do? As I’m not on a Mac I’m a bit lost. Great videos keep it up mate learning a lot. Ben.
@@bozzy1982 Hi ben,
Thanks! I’ll be doing more editing videos in the next couple of weeks. I’m gonna find out what the shortcuts are for windows as well to apply to my next tutorial! Thanks for sticking with the channel 😁
No worries. I've only just got my drone this week (MM1) and can't wait to get out. It really helps watching you videos. I've just looking into software to use I like the look of lightroom but unsure on the subscription. I'd like to follow the steps that you've layed out so trying to fine one that does all of that.
Nice work Mate. I plan to use your practices to open my Etsy with my Mini 2. Much appreciated for your time and effort.
Nice video! :) Just bought mini2, cant wait to get some shots
Great video, thanks.
I notice you didn’t use the HDR Panorama option in LR. Any reason for that, as it brings it down do a single process to combine the 9 photos?
Great final image 👍
I’m pretty good at composing a photo and reasonable with Lightroom but I really need to get to grips with Photoshop!
Hopefully the weather will be kind when I head to Devon in a few weeks and set my Mini2 to work.
Thanks for sharing your workflow.
Cracking video mate. Very helpful indeed. It's an amazing little drone and your helping people like me to use it to its full potential!
Thank you so much for the information.
Glad it was helpful! 😁
i used to rely on auto stitch, but after watching hiow to merge...my pics are so much better now. cheers...
No problem! Good to hear 😁
I'm a drone enthusiast and have to say your videos are a HUGE help! I'm going to give ETSY a go and see how I get on. I will update you after a while 👍🏻 really enjoy your videos. Well done!💯
Awesome to hear! Let me know how you get on 😁
Great channel, keep em coming.
Thanks, will do!
Great video 👍, the three images in jpeg are you taking three individual photos using EV compensation, is it one over, one under and one normal exposure.
Hi Richard, thanks! If I’m using the DJI app i manually change the shutter speed for each shot. If I’m using Litchi I use their AEB feature 😊
@@Scotts30sJourney thanks, good video by the way, don't change your format keep it as you are doing its more relatable to most watchers then some of these over produced tutorials 👍
great video, i used to do this when i did photography, i had completely forgot how to do it. (seems easier than it was several years ago) great to see some local footage also.
Another cracking video!! Just wondering why you aren't using Lightroom Classic, as that is designed to be used on a laptop/desktop. This version I thought was more for mobile and tablet editing.
Thank you! To be honest, I have it installed but haven't actually used it yet. Perhaps this weekend I'll start to give it a go 😊
love this channel!! don't change its relatable and informative!!awesome
Thanks Cossie! I won’t 🤣 more videos coming next week
Great tutorial! Good job 😎 looking forward for the next one!
Cheers Roy! 😊
How are you getting such sharp photos on your mini.
Theres no way to focus on an item specifically. I get my shitter as high as I can and iso as low as possible but still seem to get some blur
Hey Scott, I’ve been enjoying your videos from across the pond in Torquay. I am looking to take my drone photography to the next level on my Mavic Mini 1. Would you recommend Aurora HDR, Luminar AI and Autostitch for a newbie?
Great work mate
Nice work, some great tips and tricks there! Look forward to applying some of those myself. 👍
Cheers! 😁
Do you know how you make a picture fit? I want to have a castle print but its bigger than the sizes the printers offer, it its massively cropped. I was wondering if you can get photoshop to make it A4, A3, A2 etc? Thanks, Ben
Great video on your process. I can't wait to try this type of pano as the detail in my mini2 shots have been somewhat underwhelming. Also is there a reason you don't do denoise in lightroom earlier in the process instead of photoshop?
Hi Darian, Thanks! My style of editing is always changing, I now Denoise in Lightroom. I'll probably make a new editing tutorial this month
Good effort.
I’ve been toying with my MM in our videos but haven’t really thought about taking photos.
May just give it a go 👍🏼
Great video learnt a few tricks wich hopefully can put to use, look forward to the next one as I’m in the process of setting up a shop on Etsy 👌
Where would you suggest for printing, saw I wanted some prints for myself (assume I get a good photo 😆)
Hey, I only go through Loxley Colour, great company and great quality prints
Love the text on your prints!? Is it a case of popping a white background and some text or is there more to it?
Cheers! You hit the nail on the head, that's literally it. White background and some fancy text 🤣 Works wonders
Would you be keen to do a 3 shot AEB editing tutorial for Luminar AI as well mate? ;)
Proud of yo, great video x
Please let me which software you use to edit the photo you did not mentioned the name of software in your vlog
Great channel mate 👍. What image ratio and print ratios do you find work best?
Hi Matthew, thanks! For image ratio I take them in 16:9, I find that 4:3 on the Mini 1 gives me less quality in the image due to cropping in. Print ration can vary 😊
What laptop are you using? I have the new versions of LR and PS on my 2015 iMac and its grinding to a stop. Its doing things but its just started running so slow after getting the software.
Hey Davy, I was running on the same one you have, however I got a 2019 mac last year, big mistake considering they released the new 2020 one with the new chip a month after! haha. But if your laptop is working, that's the main thing. Use what you have for now until you can upgrade bro.
Hi Scott quick one,do you soft proof your images in LR or PS before order the prints? Thanks
Hi Ivan, I don't soft proof
Hi Scott, cool vid, thanks. One question, the sky looked very blown out. Is it my iPad or am I right, and if so, would you not try to make it more evenly blue? Cheers. Ps I’m looking at getting a mini 2 although I’d love a pro2 as well. I’m also keen on FPV, how about you?
Hi Chris, cheers! The sky is blown out a little to the left, that was totally down to my 'artistic' touch, haha. It's not for everyone. Definitely get the Mini 2 mate, if you can get both then why not! I would love to try FPV, maybe later this year I'll give it a go 😊
@@Scotts30sJourney awesome stuff. Thanks for the reply. I'm working out what FPV setup to go with at the moment 👍😎
Great video I’ve learned a lot from your videos please keep them coming.
Thank you 😊
Thank you for the videos, I’m coming from Facebook mavic mini site that you’ve advertised on, I just don’t understand how many pictures you’ve taken to end up with 1 at the end.
Have you taken 9 separate photos by hovering the mini in the same spot and taking three photos at different exposure settings. Then lifted the camera higher but leaving the drone hovering in the same spot and taking another three and then lifting the camera higher again to take another three of the skyline at different exposures? Or is it just one photo that you’ve split into 9 segments and then altered the exposure and then joined them back together again, It’s not clear, I don’t know how many pictures I need to take and at what settings on the mini 1 to get the 9 images you’ve used, it’s very impressive if it’s 9 separate pictures that a program can join them all up to create a seamless join, you’re help would be very appreciated.
Hey Jack, sorry i did this in the wrong order! I’ll be uploading a video next week demostrating how i take the photos. You were right the first time! Three main photos each one having three different exposure settings. I’ll be uploading next Tuesday for this turorial
Great video thank you
Im going to use windows.
Are lightroom and photoshop both free programs?
Cheers Jpl. Unfortunately you have to pay, i believe it’s something like £9.99 per month, totally worth it though!
Thats cool...definately worth it...the results are fantastic
Is that £9.99 per program?
@@jplphotography3143 thanks, a lot of people tend to take a dislike to the mini’s for photography. Mainly the Mini 1, but it’s a been a life saver for me since covid and I’ve done some great work with it.
It’s £9.99 for both of them 😊
Good work man! showed things i dident know. I just used lightroom for this :)
Thanks Roberts! 😊
Your videos are spot on 👍
Thanks Tomo, appreciate that 😊
Hi Scott - Thanks so much for the informative videos! They’re a great help. Quick question, I’ve got a DJI Mini 2. Would you still recommend to shoot numerous photos to capture the shadows, highlights & mid-tones or would you simply shoot in raw? Many thanks!
Hey Josh, no problem man. So I only shoot multiple AEB is I'm shooting a Sunrise/sunset shot and I want the sun in shot. There's only so much pushing you can do with a RAW file before it becomes slightly noisy. If I shoot a sunrise for instance, I'll take 3 AEB, a total of 9 photos, to really grab the shadows and highlights in the image and have more to play with in the edit. Hope that helps!
@@Scotts30sJourney Awesome - Thanks for the advice man! 🙌🏽
Hi,
Enjoy your channel.
I wanted to treat myself to a photoshop for windows.
Is there a free version or buyable?
Is it adobe Lightroom ?
Which plan do you use?
Do you need commercial licence for selling?
One of the best and most informative videos I’ve seen on the editing process mate great work! When you take the photos is there an overlap or do you have to get the angle perfect to create the vertical pano shot?
Hi Danny, thanks for the comment pal! 😁 You can overlap, Lightroom does a great job at stitching the photos. If you had to do it perfectly I think I’d cry at how long that would take haha.
Great video. What exposure settings do you use for the 3 photos?
If its the Mini I would think it would be set by the software in the AEB option.
@@davyaerialvideography9595 - the Mavic Mini 1 does not have AEB mode
Hi, thanks! If I’m using the DJI app i manually change the shutter speed for each shot. If I’m using Litchi I use their AEB feature 😊
Are your 3 initial exposures of each scene done manually? Or does your version of drone have a bracketing feature?
Manually. I’m filming this tutorial tomorrow and uploading Tuesday 😊
Thanks, really useful 👍🏻
No problem 👍
What program is it you’re editing with?
Hi David, I use Lightroom and Photoshop
@@Scotts30sJourney cheers.. which photoshop? Do you use it to merge the pictures or is that in Lightroom?
Ey big up south west
How do you play 3 photos the same?
Hey, If I’m using the DJI app i manually change the shutter speed for each shot. If I’m using Litchi I use their AEB feature 😊
great vid
Thanks!
A pretty good video but you're glossing over stuff you need to explain a bit more. I have no idea what all the keyboard shortcuts are. I get that they are a fast way of doing different operations but when you just say Shift Cntl E (or whatever) I don't know what you're doing. It could be a cut and paste for all I know.
Like I said, pretty good video and I learnt a lot but you're going too fast and need to explain what you're actually doing a bit more.
Hi Paul, great point. It's my first time doing this sort of thing so all the CC is noted. I'm always trying to learn new things and work on how I explain things. More videos like this to come in the future that hopefully go a bit more in depth and slower!
