    I started out on the R3 about 2 years ago I sold it, I miss that bike it was a fun bike. I think I’m gonna go with a R7 this year they sound so good with a exhaust man.

    My new R7 is a class machine. A forgiving engine id say. If deliberately slowed down and kept in 4 or 5 gear and it doesnt start chucking etc..it lets you know but not in a rough way.

    I got a 2015 r3, jumping from that to the r7 how much taller is it? Because I’m 5’4 with 28 inch inseam. Do you think id be able to tippy toe on the r7

    • @RickyMoto
      @RickyMoto  2 года назад

      I’m 5’ 7” and I had to tippy toe on the r7, so it might be a bit steep for u. If u use 1 foot down method you’ll prolly be ok. Or you could lower the bike

    So the quick shift you don’t need to clutch or let off the throttle ???
    How does it work?

    • @RickyMoto
      @RickyMoto  Год назад +1

      In 1st gear still need to hold clutch because it’ll stall without throttle, but as you shift up you can hit the shifter up without releasing throttle and without touching clutch at all. Kinda like paddle shifters in a car

    • @nathanyt
      @nathanyt 8 месяцев назад

      There's a device that's attached to the shifter and the ECU is preprogrammed to for it. When you upshift, the QS will cut the power temporarily for you so you don't have to let go of the throttle.
      This is similar to doing it manually where you close the throttle and shifting up at the same time, all without using the clutch.

    U recon the r7 would be a good first bike for a 16y old at like 6'1 I have a bit of time dirt bikes and quads

    • @RickyMoto
      @RickyMoto  7 месяцев назад

      I’d say it’s a great option for something with some riding experience like you mentioned on dirt bikes and quads. You’ll be familiar with the handling dynamics of riding and it’ll be a quick adjustment to the sportier seating and config of the bike. The r7 sits a bit tall so for 6’1 I think it’s more than enough. I’m 5’7” and sometimes it feels a bit big on me. Power wise is it has a lot of midrange to high end torque, as long as you’re easy on it the low RPMs are manageable.

    • @LJ_Adventure79
      @LJ_Adventure79 7 месяцев назад

      Ok thanks yea Ive never at on or been on a sport bike so it will definitely be a change the only thing I'm worried about it the power as my dad and I talk about me getting a bike quite a bit but he has no riding experience himself and neither does my mum the only people in my family with riding experience like 7 hours away so my parents are a bit worried about me getting a bike and hurting myself on it

    • @RickyMoto
      @RickyMoto  7 месяцев назад

      @@LJ_Adventure79 there’s definitely some good power on the R7 if you really push it, can hit 0-60 in 3.2 seconds. But as long as you’re careful not going full throttle you can control it without going too fast. It does lose power after 100mph where it’ll slowly climb to around 130 where it tops out. It’s definitely a bike to grow into rather than a bike that you will grow with in the beginning. The r3 is an another great starter bike where new riders will feel more comfortable with the power of it but eventually will grow out of it in a few months. So gotta weigh your options if you’re looking for something long term r7 is a great option. But just something to learn on a smaller bike is a greater starter to eventually transition into something bigger

    • @LJ_Adventure79
      @LJ_Adventure79 7 месяцев назад

      Yea I had considered the r3 and was looking into them for a while but I'm in the fence bc I can't decide between the r3 and the r7 bc I feel I will grow out of the r3 quite fast and I'm also look for something I could take to the track every once in a while to practise my skills and stuff

    I’ve been into motorcycles for as long as I can remember and have riden a TON of different bikes. The R7 is despicably slow. Putting a 2 cylinder low revving engine in a sport bike frame is just a dumb idea.(in comparison to the 4-cylinder high revving bikes like the R6) The R7 is good for around town cruising and freeway riding but a sport bike frame is anything but comfortable for “daily crusing”.

    • @r7nero
      @r7nero 2 года назад +14

      I think most people miss the point of this bike. It's not a replacement for a R6. It's a step inside the world of Sportbikes. That way people who are on the edge can see if they like how the seating position and how they handle without having all that power to intimidate them. It's a good bike to learn how Sportbikes ride without people thinking too much about how to control the power as much. Kinda like the R3 just another foot forward into the Sportbike life

      Ha. Feel what u are saying. But I guess head injuries are potentially d worst, so if u had to wear only one piece of gear, helmet would be it. But best practice is all d gear all d time. Which really takes a lot of discipline. Especially if u're staying local and not planning to hit any highways.
