I’m in the same boat, I’m a good rider multiple track days etc I have a 2017 gsxr 1k and How easy it is to do stupid speeds on iv had so many close calls due to twisting the throttle and it’s a matter of time, had 2 close calls where iv almost come home and sold it, half tempted to go back to an mt07 and just enjoy the ride and not at 170+mph
@@Nine.siixxx you should 100% do it. mt07 is around the max you'll ever need. I personally have a vfr800. its got vtec which keeps me in check and allows me to enjoy low end power as well as high end power when I want to.

had to get rid of my R1 and grabbed a R7 for the same reasons plus im older than him so its worse for me lol
Man why not the xsr900, or a mt10.. used they all cost the same cheap..
im glad your starting to "mature" in the going slower and being safer then what you were doing, sick new bike, my brother juts got a r7 and its pretty fun

@@nate.hanlonr7 is a 2 cylinder with about 70 horsepower same thing as a mt07. The r6 is a 4 cylinder with over 100hp

I’ve had a black r7 for about a year now, done a few track days and ride it when ever I can and love it, brilliant little bike.
Pro tip, get some tank grips so you don’t scratch up that shiny new fuel tank. Clear coat is really soft and scratches very easily.

It's a really fun bike for what it is, in the last year since I've owned it, I'm about to hit 46k miles on my '22 R7. Mainly for commuting.

I hear ya about the R1, especially as someone that likes to click through gears. Noting all it takes is first gear to be over the limit but I cant get enough of that cross plain sound

so far, the mods I've got for my R7, is short number plate holder, ixil hyperlow exhaust without dB killer, isn't crazy loud, but sounds great, knee tank pads on the side, would 10/10 recommend, my knees used to sliiide a lot, quadlock ofc :P windscreen switched out, nothing else really at the moment, have ridden 7.5k miles on it so far, my first bike, and I'm loving it, great for cornering, and even tho it's a sports bike, even great at low speeds!

You kno I had the same feeling when I had my R1, and then I bought the R7 knowing it was a slower step down. But I had both R1 and R7 so I didn’t really care how slow it was. But now I miss that adrenaline I used to have with my previous R1. Now just watching you explain what I too had similar thoughts of having a “Fast bike” I’m in no rush to getting and R1 again. BUT….of course, us speed demons need that fast bike…. juuuust incase lol. Enjoy that R7 bro
I’ve got the 60th anniversary edition and I love it. Not fast but not too slow. I have a full SC project exhaust and it is so loud.
I have one of those and love the bike, have fun!
I'd love the R7, I think it's what I'd choose for myself if it's ergonomic enough lol, I'm a bigger rider. Definitely excited to see more content on this! Also, huge respect for your decision!

Rode a 250 for a few years and wanted something faster. Tried my buddy's '01 R6 and was like NOPE! Too easy to end up tree decoration on that thing. The R7 seems to be a bike that will satisfy my aesthetic preferences and safety as well.
Earned a sub for drilling the muffler! That's exactly what I plan to do as I like the tone of the stock better than all the after market pipes that make it sound like a dirt bike. Some may like that, I don't. How do you like that sound?

Was riding through the canyons yesterday and met a dude on an r7 and that sounded nice asf. Popped a lot and was quick but doesn’t have to top speed or sound of a 600. But they are definitely awesome

That's why I got my R7. I stopped riding after my motor blew up 8 years ago on my k4 gsxr 1000 maxing it out on a highway. Very next day friend died on his cbr 1000rr. Just got the r7 to get back on the road again missing it; again with 2 wheels. So far I've done yoshimura r77 w/db killer, tstindustries hyper gtr hyper white flush signals, and JLDesigns intergrated tail lights.

@@NudaMan I got mine for 15k with 28k miles. I live in South Dakota, so I can only ride part of the year. The high miles don’t bother me for that reason. It’s been taken care of though, that’s forsure

I’ve been looking at bikes for next season (on a ninja 400 rn) I been looking at the R7 and the gsxr750. So excited to see you continue to ride this and your emotions/thoughts on it!
Do the GSXR 750. Perfect balance in between a 600 and a liter bike. Great bikes.
The gsxr 750 is a huge difference from the r7. Not really in the same field of comparing tbh
Imo a great bike that isn’t too crazy quick but is a definite upgrade in power and engine would be the cbr650r. R7 is a good choice too
The 750 is my next bike. Hopefully later this year. Sat on both and the 750 was more comfortable to me. I like raw bikes without all the electronics. Riding an sv650 rn. Fun but doesn't feel quite right. Either way enjoy and be safe
If you could afford it, wait for the new kawasaki zx6r
Have the '21 mt07, same engine, the bike is awesome and you will enjoy every part of it, even the mods are way cheaper than liter bikes. Totally feels like toys, but yo ucan control them easily
