One word: Memories! This is by far the best game I've ever played. The soundtrack, the gameplay, creatures... everything's just perfect. I miss those good old times.
Doesn't he also say "game loaded"? There it is! 3:09. I played this game when it was brand new, and to this day, whenever I load any game I play, there's a 50/50 chance that I hear this dude say "game loaded" in my head.

I hate to be a party pooper, but the community at Keeper Klan have uncovered evidence that the DK1 in-game Mentor may NOT actually be Richard Ridings. They're saying the voice and pitch just don't match his. Also, someone else is credited for voice-overs before Richard Ridings is, which would make sense if he (the other person) did the essential voices.

Richard Ridings only did the overworld narration pre and post levels. The ingame voices were done by Dene Carter.
