    @2:21 The trick is to loosen off the shoulder straps 4 or 5 inches, this makes reaching back to put the bottle away a lot easier., then simply re-tighten the straps once the bottle is secure. Try it, works for me😁

    Thanks for the thorough and helpful review! I’ve been close to getting an Osprey daypack but this one caught my eye on Decathlon and for less than half the price with most of the same features I’m after, I’m leaning towards it. I really rate the Quechua line - my waterproof shell jacket from them is still performing perfectly years later.

    😊 I bought this pack over a month ago and hike almost everyday. I've been very impressed with this pack, it's a very comfortable and rugged pack. Took over a week to relax a bit but has more than enough room for all my needs! Thanks for the video because it helped me make the decision to buy it!
    It's competes well with Osprey as I have 2 of them but prefer this pack!!😊

      I would LOVE to be able to get out hiking everyday, that sounds very nice. I'm delighted to hear that you are impressed with the pack, hopefully it continues to serve you well 🍀

    Great gear review. Have the 40l version which is great. (on your recommendation from one of your previous videos). I agree with the ventilation webbing. It's too flexible so your back ends up pressing against the bag. I also agree that you nearly have to dislocate your shoulder to get the water bottle in, although recently the pocket has stretched a bit and it is easier to get the bottle in without taking pack off. Still not worried about bottle falling out.

    • @RamblingOn
      @RamblingOn  Год назад +1

      It's a good feature but I reckon the side pocket needs to be angled down slightly for it to work effectively. The Ospreys have a much more acute angle and they work well, have a good weekend man 🙌

      Working the weekend but got out yesterday to do the Lough Bray Loop. Beautiful scenery. The sunny weather has dried up the ground. It would have otherwise been extremely wet and boggy ground.

  • @niallharran

    I agree, a great well made bag. Unfortunately, I bought mine when there was only one size available and on long hikes I've found it a bit uncomfortable as the waist strap sat too high up my body. Just upgraded to the Osprey Manta 24 which this is basically a copy of. I liked the Decathlon features and wanted them all in the replacement! Only reason I didn't go Decathlon again is I wanted the 24L capacity for winter hiking and my Exos 48 is so easy to wear I wanted a day bag the same. This is a great bag for anyone starting off or for anyone just looking for a good quality, durable bag.
    Ps, I keep my toilet kit in the same place 🤣

    • @RamblingOn
      @RamblingOn  Год назад +1

      😄 great minds think alike. I didn't get along with my Exos but it's like everything else, there is not one piece of gear out there that would suit everyone. The Manta sounds like a good daypack, have a good weekend 👍

    Hi Jason. That zip that opens up the pack from the side looks really useful. I have those water bottle pockets on the side of my Gregory pack,they work well with the smaller size bottles. Nice looking pack 👌

    • @RamblingOn
      @RamblingOn  Год назад +1

      The pockets on my Exos were much easier to access. I believe it's the angle of the pocket that makes it difficult on this pack but that side zip makes up for it, it is very handy. Have a good weekend 👍

    I have this pack and it's great! However, I found the back ventilation worked really well! But I agree with the water bottles, absolutely impossible to get back in those pockets because of the material they are made of. I wish they had a bottle holder like they have in the bigger packs, which work much easier. But a great little day pack I have to say. Cheers!

    • @RamblingOn
      @RamblingOn  Год назад +1

      I reckon if they dropped the angle of the pocket slightly then it would work much better. The osprey bags have a much more acute angle which makes it easier to use. Have a good weekend 🍀

    Hi. Thanks a lot for your reviews. Having used both the 40l and 20l versions, do you think the 40l version can be used as a day pack for a trek? I appreciate you said that the 20l can be used as a day pack in this video.

    • @RamblingOn
      @RamblingOn  Год назад

      Hi yeah I'd say you could use it as a day pack. If you have a down jacket or waterproofs, they'll help to fill it up a bit if left loosely packed.
      It might not feel as stable on your back compared to the 20l considering it would be holding a smaller amount of gear than it is designed for, but it should do the job

    Great long term review Jason..Had to laugh though when not only did you demonstrate your d.i.y. trekking pole loops; that you've clearly put thought and effort into.
    And the manufacturers own trekking pole loops..so basically overkill on the trekking pole loops..How could anyone forget or misplace their trekking poles!?!?
    Then I remembered that in the last post of yours that I saw; you'd forgotten a certain item, and where carrying a large tree branch to stand in for the certain item, that would be impossible to forget..because of all the loops on your rucksack!
    Haha..I'm only teasing you Jason; you've a grand sense of humour, so I know you won't be offended!🤣

    • @RamblingOn
      @RamblingOn  Год назад +1

      😂 ah it's handy to have them on the strap rather than on the bag itself. I usually use my carabiner loops for my tripod when I'm not using it and it's dead handy.
      I will hopefully never make that mistake again, could have been worse.. I could have forgotten the tent 😂

    Do these suspended backs ever work, do they really reduce sweating? Even on more expensive bags I mean, like on Ospreys

    • @RamblingOn
      @RamblingOn  Год назад +1

      When done right they do help to reduce sweating but only minimally in my experience.
      It certainly would not be a deal breaker for me if a pack didn't have a suspended back system

    Thank you so much for the awesome educational material. I am confused about one thing, by stating L and S sizes: They means 20L and 40L option OR when buying the 20L bag I have two size choices L and S? Thanks again :)

    • @RamblingOn
      @RamblingOn  Год назад +1

      Yeah so when you buy the 20 litre bag you have the option to buy a large or a small. It basically refers to how the bag will fit rather than the volume of it. Thanks a mill for watching 🍀

    • @khedr_
      @khedr_ Год назад

      I have just read the comments on the 40L model's video, I understood that there are two sizes for each model. I can't imagine how it makes a difference in the bag measurements! Thank you.

    I cant decide if I should buy the 40l version or the 20l version... Is it possible to fit gear for 1-2 days in the 20l version?

    • @RamblingOn
      @RamblingOn  4 месяца назад

      It would be a challenge but it is not impossible. Here are two videos I've done using this pack. One is an over night camp and the other is a loadout video. It might give you an idea of what to expect ruclips.net/video/S8hxIObN57Q/видео.htmlsi=9gOyotFoIa-oyygn & ruclips.net/video/e0NteBv19O8/видео.htmlsi=q0gZDB5XaSIlRGTm
      To be honest if I had to chose one for camping I'd go with the 40 litre, the 20 litre isn't designed to carry the same kind of weight. Although the materials are very durable its more due to how comfortbly the pack hods the weight on your back. Also for Camping the 40 litre would be more versatile and cover more seasons

    The old model was much better! Just Great!
    It's a pity they ruined it!
    Better materials, straight side pockets and the bottles don't fall out, a lid with two clips and you can put your jacket under the lid without it slipping out, and many others.
    The new one is disgusting! What a pity! No thanks! I changed the brand!
