    awesome content man, great and helpful stuff, I've been prepping the soil/digging holes and testing the drainage like you mentioned in this video, I want to transplant a couple of robellinis to my new house they're like 13 years old, how big does the root ball need to be? How much do I dig out for these baby's to thrive? I'd appreciate your help, thank you best to you and your channel 👍

      Just try to get as much as the rootball as possible. I have another video about propagating date palms from offshoots. Check it out, it will give you an idea about the size of the rootball.

    I just planted 60 date palms yesterday in Tunisia (north Africa).
    People here advice to give it 90 liters daily for the first 40 days (soil loam and sand fifty fifty)
    Any advice

    • @qctropicals
      @qctropicals  2 года назад +1

      Water until wet. Then every 12 hours check the soil around the rootball and let dry about 15 to 30 cm. However long it takes for that to happen is exactly how often you will need to water those date palms their first year in ground.

    If the palm is smaller like a medium sized pot size, Can u still plant it or does it have to be bigger, like the one in this video, to be able to place this in the ground??

    • @qctropicals
      @qctropicals  Год назад +2

      It will always do better in the ground than in the pot. No issues planting a small palm.

    How much water do these need in the desert? Can you tell me how many drip lines you use and the flow rate of the emitters? Thanks

    • @qctropicals
      @qctropicals  2 года назад +2

      Deep water once fully rooted. Do let the soil dry in between watering. I have (1) 13 gallon an hour emitter on it right now. In my soil with my drainage, I water about 3 hours once every 3-4 days with the emitter half open.

    Can Dates grow in Georgia, and can I grow using a date from the store?

    • @qctropicals
      @qctropicals  Год назад +1

      GA would be too cold. You would need to cold protect it once you get in the low teens or if your ground freezes. Dates are not true to seed, yes you can grow the seed from store bought but you will not get same tasting fruit.
