I just did mine recently, no issues but was at 118k miles. My screw was rusted like crazy, in the salt belt, replaced with OE replacement. I removed the screw first, mainly because I wanted to know I could get it off. My clips were pain, I did find that gentle usage of long reach 45 deg bent needle nose was extremely helpful, especially on the front one. If the filter is loose in the bracket, you can move it around a bit. When you missed clipping in the front first, you didn't have to undo the front clips, just the bracket. I had to manually reverse the clips using a hook pick so they would hook and stay on the filter. For testing, you can just turn the key to one, the fuel pump will prime for leak checking.

You did not go aftermarket on fuel filter. What you purchased was an OE type filter vs OEM. The OE is usually the type of filter that comes with the car new from factory. Just as good as OEM. Merci

Any update in gas mileage? Having same issues with startups, especially after a long drive and a 22mpg

It didn't fix my issues personally. But that doesn't mean it wont fix yours!

You should look into carbon cleaning cleaning jose, a bad carbon buildup can cause slow cold starts and even misfires on cold starts. Whenever I did my carbon cleaning my gas mileage average went from 21 to 24 mpg! And I drive my car pretty aggressively too.
