To be honest, I was not sure how to put the batteries in. That was my purpose of looking for and watching this video. I'm now going to tackle installation. I feel pretty confident after watching this tutorial video. Appreciate the time and effort made to make the video. Thank you.
@@tasha121985 I learned the hard way that there are TWO versions of the Kwikset Convert. Once is the Kevo version (shown in this video) and the other a Convert (Z-wave version). The Kevo Convert is the only version that will pair with the Kevo app. Also, the Kevo version REQUIRES the Kevo Plus hub to connect to Alexa/Smarthings. The Kevo Plus hub is another $99!!!!! Kwikset information is very limited and confusing at best. They do not make this distinction clear from purchasing standpoint. Also, the Convert (Z-wave version) I have paired perfectly with Smarthings and Alexa. HOWEVER, and this is a big deal, there is no way to issue ekeys!!!! So, no way to provide a worker or visitor an ekey to let themselves in and out. This is the primary reason for having a "smart" lock. Kwikset really missed the mark on this product. Oh, by the way, my first unit was dead on arrival. Spent tons of time to learn it was defective out of the box. Second one was good to go then spent 45 mins with support to learn it won't pair with Kevo! Sending this one back too!
To add to Ken's comments, they put out a Amazon Key edition, with an attractive price. However, it won't pair solo, you apparently need a Cloud Cam @ $100. Returning mine.

My convert is NOT Bluetooth. Now what?
You can order the module and add it, otherwise it’s a key pad lock which is ok.
