All of the drum companies are now learning that add on packs are where the real $ is! I'm seeing this trend more and more! I'm still partial to external software but the Mimic sounds pretty close! Thanks for the preview
Thanks! The aD5 is great at what it does - natural, playable kits that you can just enjoy without tweaking. But the Mimic can be pushed really far if you like tweaking/sound design!
Is the "gonebroke" set supposed to tell us something? :-P Great samples. I don´t own any of the modules (TD-50 or Mimic). So these are not for me. But still well made. I use the TD-17 but trigger EZD2 with it. Very happy with it. Except for the none existing rim clicks on toms and the none existing bows on crashes. So either I will go for SD3 or, what is actually more likely, I will go for the 2Box drumit 5 MK.II. That way I can get rid of any PC/Laptop connected to the module und just use the module itself. Unless GeWa actually manages to get their module out and working until I invest into something new. That module seems to be promising, but than again. Who knows if it actually ever works properly?

Weirdly, no - it's just a bad pun riffing on the fact it was based on tracks by Don Broco (tenuously sounds kind of similar) and I'd already used the better name "The Don" for the TD-50 version 😅 but it is very apt, well spotted haha! Thanks, glad you like the sound of them! A 17 paired with a VST like EZD2 is a very capable combination! And as you say, anything you're missing can be made up for by a software purchase rather than a while module. But the 2box is a good shout too. Lots of great options, really! Re: the GEWA - It is actually now available, but so far only rolled out in Germany, as far as I know. However, that means Thomann has it which ships worldwide so it is possible to get one. Not seen much about it in use yet though - time will tell.
I’m confused, these are not new drums samples these are just his user presets and modified effects and Eq settings of the drums that are already in the unit??
Yes, they are premade settings/preset packs that tweak the kits to a particular style. This is mainly aimed at people who struggle to do different kinds of processing to get the sounds they want out of the module - a common problem faced by quite a lot of people who want to play electronic drums but aren't sound engineers. This is something that a few companies offer as there is demand for it. If the presentation of it wasn't clear enough about the way they're created, I'll try to make sure I address that on future videos. Thanks for commenting!

I play the ATV aDrums kit and while I like the aD5 module, this makes me want to upgrade to the PMP.
