Great incite, yes Simon is sad. He painted himself into a corner with his statements. If she was not with child, they would live apart. If she was with child, he would stay. He was looking for a way back to her when he took her hand. And if you look closely, his eyes water up, and he swallows deeply. With all this miscommunication, he really loves her. And the idea that Lady Whistledown can restore the Feathertons reputation is so off because everything she wrote was true about them. She'd have to lie.
I really like the subtlety Simon and Daphne display in looks/ touches to show how much they love each other and want each other, without needing to say anything at all

But it can also cause abortions. There are a couple of other types of tea that pregnant people also have to avoid.
