Thank you so much! Glad you liked it, at first I was going to just make it black and white but then I got carried away and thought it matched the vibe of the film.
Well I see my comment disappeared so I'll try this again - man, you play so tasty and your phrasing is top notch. I'm loving the tone that your getting Pal!!
Thank you so much Jimmy! I really appreciate that my friend. Totally stinks that youtube is still deleting comments like that. It makes no sense either when so many times I get actual spam comments and those are not deleted. Go figure. Hope you have a great week!
Thank you Darren! John Lee Hooker was the coolest :-) The man's foot was an entire rhythm section and his hands were an entire band. Then his voice! Wow, what an incredible singer he was. For me, only Howlin' Wolf's voice has the same grit and growl.
Thanks a lot Ingo, really glad you enjoyed it and awesome to hear that you love the movie too! I always recommend it to everyone if they haven't seen it yet.
Fabulous playing Pal,John Lee Hooker was my first blues influence and its great to hear someone playing his iconic licks and you even got the right tone bravo
Fabulous Blues Brothers 😎 🎸✨ great reminder of those awesome memories, Pal . The great Mr.Hooker was The Best !!!!! 🌹❤️ Happy times with Laurie, my friend ✌️🍫🍪🍫

@@chrissythornhill Good luck to your daughter and her husband! Yes, this pandemic has negatively effected so many people's lives... it's a tragedy. I was not born in the US but I lived there for 26 years (from the time I was a little kid). If you're interested in a medium-ish story about how I ended up in Hungary, you can watch this video ruclips.net/video/fO7DcXp2f3w/видео.html The very short version is that I am ethnic Hungarian, born in Romania. I moved to to the US with my parents as a kid, then I moved to Hungary in 2010. One of my sisters had moved here for love and I visited her a bunch of times before considering moving here myself. I wouldn't say that I moved for love but I actually did find it almost immediately after moving here :-) I proposed to my wife after we had been dating for only 2 months. We were married 7 months later :-) Hope you have a wonderful weekend!
Thank you so much Mel! Yes, absolutely - there is something so visceral and powerful in John Lee Hooker's playing (and in blues in general). It's this raw and primitive feeling that just completely overcomes me when I hear it.
That's an amazing song too John but I was actually going for John Lee Hooker's Boom Boom. Interestingly enough, after I got into his music, I borrowed a bunch of music from my library of old blues music and one of the first other artists I got mesmerized by was Howlin' Wolf because of his voice. What incredible artists both!
Thanks a lot Daniel! Yeah, there are some amazing musicians in that movie and so many wonderful tunes to inspire us. Plus, the movie is super funny. I highly recommend watching it if you haven't seen it yet.
I think everybody was in that movie! It was a bit lost on me in 1980, but I figured it out over the years 🤣. I was introduced to the blues when I saw Johnny Winter open for Ted Nugent some time in the mid 70s. He was influenced by Muddy Waters and that led me down the blues history trek. Cheers.
@@DanielDroz You are so right about that! There are incredible actors and musicians throughout the movie. Johnny Winter was amazing too - that must have been incredible to see him back then! As a kid, I was already into the late 60's and 70's rock bands who were all heavily influenced by the blues but I had never heard the original songs that inspired them until after I saw this movie. That's when I started learning about Willie Dixon and realizing how many of the early Zeppelin songs for instance were covers and not original tunes. I was a bit shocked honestly :-)
Thanks a lot Brian! I don't usually mess with the visuals in my videos but I kind of felt this would work well. I'm glad I tried it and that you like it!
Köszi Attila! Sorry for the late reply. I have an old (first generation) Digitech JamMan looper. I'm actually thinking of selling it and buying something much smaller and cheaper. It's a great pedal but it does way more than I need and it's pretty big too.

@@hearpalhere I bought the Cube Sugar bc I am lazy and I like simple things. If you have the chance try it before you buy one. I think my B Box Mosky (Overdrive/Dist/Preamp territories) and the NUX Delay have better sounds. But I m still ok with this Cube Sugar
