I have to tell you: I cried at that time. And I don't even know why. I cried like a baby... Maybe because I could feel the end coming and I didn't want the game to end. I didn't want to see those characters go and the game that I've been waiting for seven years! Maybe also because I realized that such a joyful scene will never happen again in Ellie's life, which is broken forever... Maybe I cried because this scene reminded me of the E3 trailer and the emotions I felt when I saw it. Anyway, I cried and one thing's for sure: I cried because this game is my favorite. The one that impacted me the most, the one that taught me things, and the one that made me feel this immense feeling of emptiness after finishing it. It's the first game that really makes me feel that way. Ever since I finished it, I don't know what to do, and launching the console doesn't make sense anymore. I know it will pass, but I'll still have scars, and when I look back at The Last Of Us 2 in years to come, I'll think: This is it. It's this game and not another one, that will have marked me deep inside my being.
Thank you Ellie, thank you Abby. I sincerely hope that one day you'll find some kind of happiness again.

Je partage le même ressenti ! En écoutant cette musique, je me rappelle la première fois que j’ai vu le trailer de l’E3, complètement hypé, en me disant « putain qu’est ce que j’ai hate d’y jouer ». J’ai envie de retourner à ce moment-là, d’oublier tout ceux que j’ai vécu dans ce jeu et d’y rejouer comme si c’était la première fois...
Et voila, maintenant c’est terminé, les 7 ans d’attente sont passés, j’ai terminé le jeu et le vide s’est installé. je sais bien que d’autre excellents jeux vont sortir mais c’est celui la qui ma le plus marqué et qui me marquera a tout jamais..

Ellie had this album on Vinyl. She used to play it for Dina and J. J. The three would dance in the kitchen with it. The happiness didn't last, but it was worth it.

I had listened to this album so much since that trailer first came out. So my heart skipped when I noticed the cover on vinyl! So amazing.
Well, the game has an open ending. I like to imagine that they reconciliated and continue living together back in Jackson, which if you think about it, would make a lot of sense. This game can have a 'not so sad' or 'slightly happy' ending if you fill in the blanks with your imagination
Smooth, beautifully composed and intensely romantic. This was such a great choice for the TLoU II trailer. Hope it stays in the final release as well.

Ahmed Abugabal honestly I think we'll see an other trailer of tlou before the end of the year, probably during the Paris game week or The playstation experience. A trailer where we could maybe see the name of the mysterious woman or a trailer about the new infected. It's been confirmed by someone from naugthy dog during an interview. Im highly hype now 💜

The most important reason why I think that TLOU2 is a masterpiece is that they didn't tell a story but taught us a lesson - in the most cruel way there is... And if you look at the people literally FIGHTING against each other on social media you should see that this game is more than just a game. It shows our issues in society.
Yep. Druckmann is above anyone else at story telling and writing in games. We need more stories like this and less cookiecutter ubisoft type stories.
It’s triggering when ppl say Joel didn’t deserve to die and that’s why they did it like that, if Joel deserved to die there would be no desire for revenge and no lesson would’ve been made. Sacrifices have to be made for amazing story telling and druckmann knows what he’s doing

The way that Ellie gently strums this song the night she decides to leave. It reflects this understanding that she's leaving Dina behind on a night that was so important to her, playing this Crooked Still ablum that she relates to her so much. Also simultaneously reflecting how that night is one of the last interactions with Joel that she clearly regrets, which furthers this drive to leave again because she isn't at peace with herself. Exactly, ellie knows dina loves her she knows she has a family that love her and want her to be safe. She knows all of this but her feeling is too strong she feels guilty about all the times she hated joel and feels that if she goes out and finishes the job that she would finally get closure. I dont hate ellie for doing what she did i understand. and thats the main difference between those who love the game and those that dont, that understanding of the characters headspace.
I feel so sorry for the people that didn't liked the game, I loved it and Ellie, Joel and even Abby will forever be in my heart :)
Man. And they're still hating, now about episode 3 of the show. I wish they'd realize how much they look like Abby swinging the golf club and Ellie choking Abby. The two scenes they moaned most about are exactly a resemblance of them.

I really like when a mainstream (in this case a videogame) supports an underground, 1 of my favorites artists did that so many times, kurt cobain. A simple revenge story on the surface unveils itself as a story regarding the importance of identity and grief, more specifically how we tend to cope with grief in a time of sorrow and suffering. This story’s branching pathways helped me see how similar the two women actually were. Abby finally found a new meaning to her life the moment she took Lev and Yara under her wing. All the pain, all the sadness and the realization of how useless her tracking Joel and killing him was were swept away upon cementing and finding a new purpose….A real one. Ellie, on the other side, wasn't really seeking revenge and she wasn’t so much mad at Abby more than she was mad at the fact that Abby took away the chance for her to reconcile with Joel. She finally had the strength to try and forgive him but he died the day after….and you kinda have to admit he had it coming. Killing Abby was just a objective to focus on, to evade the thought of how badly she pushed away the man that she loved the most, the father that she never had, tormented by the thought of him thinking that she hated him while dying. It took one moment, a single glimpse of him while trying to drown Abby to remember the gift he gave her that night, a real precious one: How to forgive, how to forgive the man that took her chance of saving the world and to forgive the woman that killed him, seeing how that once fierce warrior was crawling in the dirt to save that scrawny little kid. At almost the cost of her life, she ended up giving back to her worst enemy, exactly like Joel did with her years ago….

Six months later I'm still wondering why tlou have a lot of hate, I mean the whole game is pure art! (graphics, characters design, colors, music, background) ok I know could be different in some parts, but COME ON PEOPLE!

I don't know, I'm thinking that killing Abby meant turning Ellie into the villain, and she is not a villain, like neither was joel ... Maybe a meteor will crush us and this is no longer important. Maybe the new vaccine will make us infected. We could remember this in our already infected minds?, I don't exactly remember the phrase (I'm not good at that) but it's an interesting question that Sam asks Ellie in the first game, "Do you think they're still in there?"something like that . I wish I could go back in time just to feel again how I felt hearing this song towards the end of TLOU2. It was just like feeling that this wonderful and heartbreaking story was coming to an end soon.
A bitter sweet end. I still think a lot about the game and its story, I don't know, it was meaningful and feel like it reflects reality: there's not always a happy ending for everyone, no matter how much they deserve it.

Beautiful song....My eyes fill up with tears as I reminiscence through the memories when I played TLOU2.
The first time I played through the game, I was actually traumatized of what kind of impact it had on me. It tells a story of two girls, caught in an endless cycle of violence.
And after I had finished the game, I felt so empty inside. I cried all the way when Ellie and Abby were fighting. Both broken, tired.... I could barely press the buttons on my controller. This game was a mental destruction for me.
I do get deeply involved into the story with games, but...nothing like this. This hit different.

When I finished the game I didn't found that was a Masterpiece but after 2 months i think it's a masterpiece
Gotta say bro I loved the game when I finished it, more than the first one which I've played for 5-6 years, and finished 10+ times. But I found the "masterpiece" allegations ridiculous, I'm now on my 5th playthrough, and holy shit. I wouldn't call it a masterpiece just yet, but boy did I underestimate the brilliance on the writing and character development. The ending is a fucking 10/10 and I've come to appreciate the plot structure more and more even though there are some issues on the pacing execution (which the first game did perfectly)
