I got this Laptop about 7 Years ago. And although it hasn't a fan build in, it still works much better than You would expect. I upgraded the RAM, switched from the HDD to a SSD & installed Windows 10 on it a few months ago. And voila: it just works very nice. I can do Office Stuff, simple Audio-, Photo- & Video Editing and it's also possible to enjoy Retro Gaming on it. Yes, it is indeed a little hotter than the ASUS X551MAV or the HP 250 G3 because of the not included fan. But I haven't experienced any Heat caused Performance Issues on this Device in all these Years. Although it could be possible of course. I don't wanna exclude this possibility. My Recommendations for this Notebook are: RAM- & SSD-Upgrades and install Windows 10 or Ubuntu/Linux Mint as OS on it. If it's necessary, renew Thermal Paste (thanks to You & Your Video for showing how to do this btW). That will improve the Performance of this Notebook a lot. And of Course keeping it clean & nice. ✌😁😘
Thank you for the feedback, and your suggestions regarding upgrade and yes def a big boos on speed with an SSD and extra ram. but still its a shady move to not include a fan as if you work long hours on it it will accumulate the heat. thank you for the support :)
@@jamespandarawan1643 Well, my Experience is, that both run actually good enough for Standard Tasks. But I still would recommend Windows 10 in Combination with an SSD-Upgrade at least. I upgraded my G50-30 with a Crucial 8GB DDR3L SD RAM & a 250 GB Standard SSD by Intenso, installed Windows 10 on it & got a very good Performance.
Oh, so missing fan is here by design! It's my sister's laptop, used on daily basis since 22.11.2014. She was not happy with performance and asked me to reinstall Windows. It was extremely slow on stock HDD (some WD Blue 500GB), so I've decided to replace it with some Kingston 120GB SSD. Now it works great, without any issues. But during final tests, I've noticed it's silent even when playing some 1440p video so I've decided that fan is dead. After opening laptop cover again, I've noticed there is no fan at all (interesting, there is still 3-pin jack for CPU fan on the mobo, so I guess fan is included in some more advanced models with better CPUs). Anyway, looks like missing fan is not a problem for this laptop because CPU is not hot (after playing HD video for ~15 mins, heatsink was "touchable", not extremely hot). There is no sense to fully disassemble this laptop for cleaning (I think it's awesome), the only thing I plan to do in the future if won't forget - replace thermal paste on CPU. Ahh, I see it would be needed to fully disassemble it for this kind of job... But yes, SSD is definitely recommended here, even nowadays this laptop feels pretty productive now and can easily solve daily routine (check mail, some videos, forecast, office work etc.)! Thanks for a great video
thank you for your opinion and tips, and yes ssd will boost the speed of the laptop and regarding the fan .. yes it includes in a different models, and we get this models in store often because of over heating because some people that buy this unlike you they dont use it for basic task or videos they try load games and that will cause the cpu soldering balls to crack if over heating. but yes if you use it for basic tasks it will be just fine.

if you remove both batteries and leave it off for 2min the bios should reset, and for your question the laptop can be turned on with only charger and without the bios battery and internal battery.

yes and no, no: because if you will need a lot of the missing components, and fan controller chip, yes: if you know a bit of the electronics you can pull the 5v fan rail from the back of the usb port. you should ask a repair shop to do it for you.

That's at most just a 10 watt CPU. It probably doesn't need a fan. Lots of super low wattage GPUs lack fans too. Though having a heat pipe to nothing more than a thin piece of metal does seem odd. This must have been a really cheap laptop when new.
