- Sometimes when I'm inspecting a flat roof in London the problem is obvious, and a quick repair is in everybody's interest.
I am there, and the customer is there, a price is set and the work goes ahead there and then.
Both customer and roofer are happy. Generally speaking a roof repair like this will cost £140+VAT depending on parking and access.

Thanks for this Steve. I'm a no idea diy'er who had ashphalt garage roof leaks on my garage a few months ago after heavy rain. Knew I'd got to do something before winter comes around again. This is definitely pointing me in the right direction. Thanks again, Dave 😉👍
What was the 3M sealant please ? ( or the equivalent now 10 years on)
It's been taken off the market and unfortunately I haven't found another one that I like
@@SteveRoofer ok, thanks - no probs. Went with bostik in the end. Just got to wait for heavy storms now to test it 🤞
I thought you did not use open flames any more?
steve i hold a bauder, kemper, triflex ticket plus i am a qualified asphalt spreader old school flash band is dead along with asphalt unfortunetly
I agree, all of the above are much better products however what would use use for a quick temporary repair flashband is so convenient. If I had to open a tin of Kemper or Triflex just to do a small repair like this the wastage and cost would be enormous
so you cut the flash band on the roof leaving behind an opening...kids here's not how to undertake repair !
I’m new to this, please could you explain what you mean? 😅
What was the quote? I’m very interested to start but quoting is a baffle
I mention the cost of doing the roof repair in the discretion above £140; however, that was ten years ago now ist £320 Plus VAT a lot has changed in the last ten years.
@@SteveRoofer thanks for the info sorry I’m not too RUclips savvy. Could you give me a generalised quote of what the job would roughly be about now? Perhaps a rough percentage of increase? Thank you for your time. Love the vids.
