I really hope they do end up expending this feature in gen 10 because its seems like it would be a fun feature it wasn't so... bare bones. Like I want to be able to hop over terrain and stuff like that.
It being barebones makes some sense, the machine itself is basically a prototype that probably can't sync us with our perfectly just yet. A proof of concept sort of deal.
So, the main issues: If you run into a shiny or otherwise desireable Pokémon, you're kinda screwed since it would despawn. @@shaneybob6031 not really. Why would you have a need to catch pokemon if your playing as a pokemon. Not everything is about catching shiny pokemon. This game is primarily marked to kids which is why that mode is so basic

Fun fact bout Varoom's speed, it is the only pokemon(that I've personally tested so far) that can keep up with a dashing Miraidon or Koraidon. I found that out evolving my own, I was dashing round the fountain after seeing him catch up to me on Miraidon pretty easy while trying to get the steps in to evolve him. Sucks Revavroom loses some movement speed of evo, but at least he can keep up with the normal speed of Miraidon or Koraidon
[puts on monocle]: Actually, the Speed stat is not a representation of how fast the Pokémon walks, it's more like reaction speed~ The two often DO correlate, but there's no shortage of exceptions.
@@wooper375 In Legends Arceus, there's this mechanic where you can control as your own Pokémon, and while controlling as your Pokémon, you can dodge roll by pressing Y, and there's a good reason why you can do that, because while you, as a human, can't get attacked by wild Pokémon, your Pokémon still can, and this fact doesn't change even when you're controlling as your own Pokémon, so while controlling as your Pokémon, you can still get attacked by wild Pokémon, meaning that for the first time since HeartGold and SoulSilver, your Pokémon can take damage outside of battles, and while controlling as your Pokémon, you can still faint by taking too much damage and have your HP drop to 0, meaning that for the first time since Emerald, your Pokémon can faint outside of battles, and obviously, if this happen while you're on your last Pokémon, you'll still black out, meaning that for the first time since Emerald, you can black out outside of battles, and actually, while controlling as your Pokémon, you can still take fall damage, meaning that for the first time ever, your Pokémon can take fall damage, and also, while controlling as your Pokémon, you can drown, meaning that for the first time ever, your Pokémon can drown, but on the other hand, while controlling as your Pokémon, you can still use moves from your move pool, so it's still pretty cool.
