    Weocome to the Indian family , I am also rebuilding a 48 Chief - its a hard slog chasing parts when you live in Scotland but I am getting there ! Subscibed !!

    You need the official parts list and overhaul manual. Also owner's operating and maintenance manual. There are a lot of You Tube videos about critical overhaul processes, tolerances, etc. You may want to pay experts to do certain parts of engine, primary, and transmission, rear hub and sprocket assembly, girder fork, etc. I still own my second '48 Chief and wouldn't attempt to do drive train and forks, rear suspension myself. Kiwi Indian has some informative videos. You may want to buy documentation, parts, supplies and services from Kiwi and Jerry Greer. I also recommend John Bivens for expert engine, etc. work. I will be watching your progress and good luck to you.

    The clutch pedal assembly is supposed to turn stiffly and hold clutch disengaged, not a "suicide clutch" action.
