We’ve eaten at Calhoun’s many times over the years in Gatlinburg but never been to the pigeon forge location. Always been a good experience, never had a bad meal. I’ve been going there something like 25 years now. Almost all bbq is good and different restaurants have different flavors.
Brooks loves Calhouns. The bbq for us that day was just a little dry. Other than that we will go back

We've tried the Calhoun's in Gatlinburg and found the same thing. Not bad, not great, but there are some great restaurants in the area and it's just tough to justify going to Calhoun's when there are better options. Just our opinion.

@@SmokyMtFaithFoodFun You guys did an Azul review & had the Tomahawk Pork Chop, I believe. How did that compare to the other pork chops you've had in your area?
We ate at the Calhouns in Gatlinburg and we were disappointed. We did not know the history of them winning a championship rib cook off so we did not understand why they claimed to have the best ribs in America. In our experience they are no where near close to having the best ribs in America today.
Back to your review it was spot on. No one wants to give a review that sounds negative but it is a real thing.

I absolutely love Calhouns, I always leave full and anxious to return. The food is awesome, and the sweet potatoes are the bomb.

We have eaten at Calhouns the one in Pigeon forge and have never been disappointed but we will need to go back and try all the food you guys had, looked absolutely amazing delicious... the dessert will definitely try, thanks for your review and taking us along with you...

We've eaten at Calhoun's several times and it's good food and very clean but I was super disappointed in the ribs!
The restaurant is very clean and we didn’t have much to complain about except the ribs and pork mainly were dry. We will still go back
We looked so forward to eating at Calhouns and couldn't have been more disappointed. The best ribs ? Not even close. We enjoyed Bennets leaps and bounds more.

I love burnt ends but who else in pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg in the area that has burnt ends
Trotters whole Hog in Sevierville has wonderful burnt ends as well as Delauders in Gatlinburg.

Oh my goodness you have to go back and get their Ale Steak…it’s the best steak we have ever eaten. Also their Ale pork chops are amazing. We always tell them we want all garlic rolls and no cornbread or biscuits. Oh and of course we have to get extra butter. ❤ please go back and try the Ale steak!
Brooks does like the ale steak. The marinade is very good he says! Their bread was excellent! And they do have good butter.
I worked for this company for many years they make amazing food probably the best in the area.

Well, it all should have lived up to the best. So, don't know if we will try. With today's prices, it just has to be delish! Pudding, yum and that biscuit 😋 I would never eat medium rare pork. 😮
Calhouns may be one of those places we go back to just for dessert.
I like sticky fingers, dry rub ribs.
Dry rub is good. Problem here was that these were overall just a little dry

I've had Calhounds years ago and wasn't impressed then. Benetts Pit BBQ wasn't good either. The best ribs in Gatlinburg used to be a whole in the wall place down by Partons Deli but they have been gone for many years now.
We do enjoy Corkys and Tony Gore for ribs. Good stuff there!
How about giving a fork rating on each review. Gold excellent, silver above average, white plastic average and black plastic for below average.

I'll go ahead and say right now that Slows in Detroit are better. Pappys in St. Louis would top Calhouns. TBH I don't know that Calhoun would beat Bustin Butts, Delauders, Preachers, or even Bennetts in that area. I'm curious to see what y'all say, though. I'll be tuning in when this vlog goes live. 🙏🏽😎

It seemed from watching you guys try the food and the comments you made while trying that you liked your food? You raved about the pork chops but then the review sounded as if you were not happy with your meal? I am a bit confused with this one ..
The ribs were ok flavor wise just dry. My pork chop was good. It’s my fave thing on the menu. It just was cooked weird all the way through. Still good food just not the best 😊
U should have done a history lesson on the Calhouns owner and how he murdered his son years ago
