Jordan Schlansky explaining Rush to Rush is the most Jordan Schlansky thing
I like when he tells him his own birth name but didn't even get it right lol
@@fkcoolers2669that was a wild start haha
He would explain me to me.
It was actually Getty late, not rush Alex wasn’t there
Don't you mean Jason?
Imagine seeing someone you idolize and say, "oh yes"
😂😅
I'd like to, but I'm nowhere near the psychopath Jordan is!!
That's the thing though, he was pretty clear in that he doesn't idolize him, he appreciates their music, and that's quite different.
I think he was stuck on Conan's premise that whatever is being introduced is much better than Jordan talking ad nauseum.
Jordan being Jason, he couldn't change gears off of his contention with Conan fast enough to properly respond to the presence of this rock god.
Yiu missed the point Jordan doesn’t idolize geddy. He loves the music. I know Geddy respects that.
I think that was Jordan losing his s*** 😂
Whoever told geddy it was Jason’s birthday was a genius
Jordan is talking about Geddy in the third person with him virtually in the room.
I don't want to meet Jordan Schlansky, I simply want to experience his segments together with Conan in the best quality and dynamic range.
😂
This.
I want to experience it with a coffee made almost exclusively with Arabica, which is generally accepted as having a smoother and more acidic flavour compared to Robusta.
@@graemethompson6705 Have a kaiser roll with that.
Oh yes
Conan: *surprises his friend in a wholesome moment*
Jordan: oh yes
If this really did mean something to Jordan then I'd say Conan ruins the experience is more accurate.
Very Autistic response.
I think friend is a stretch. Workplace proximity acquaintance.
Jordan have met Geddy Lee before. That's why he react this way.
@@tardissixteen8178 Nah, I think Conan sees him as an actual friend. We all have friends like Jordan. That one guy you always ask "how'd I get to be friends with this guy again?"
When Geddy said the band experimented with new technology, Jordan should’ve told him how he once experimented with oats & whey.
it is not a good combination look at his complexion

Jordan has serious, SERIOUS riffing skills he can just go on and on - like a Norm Macdonald without any punchlines
His yapping is elite.
😂 can't figure out if this is a compliment or a roast
He was doing that cause he was ambushed and nervous. This is what Conan does to him on purpose lol.
And boy are there not *any* punchlines at all!

Amazed by how Conan manages to make Jordan's dream come true but in a way that he can't enjoy them
That’s a really good point LOL!!!

no way Jordan likes surprises. he was prolly more in shock.

Because that's comedy
Only Jordan could meet one of his idols, be unimpressed, and make demands.
This is the best comment :).
Geddy casually calling Jordan "JASON" made me die laughing!
The callback to Dan G was pure comedy gold and when he was asked if he could visit Toronto I knew Ged would say no effin way!!
"Jason, you are correct" This absolutely killed me 🤣
Duuuuude! It must’ve been soul crushing!!! Hahahahahaahah
It was the best!!
"You know what might be interesting? To hear Geddy Lee talk about Rush"
I absolutely died laughing when he said that. Holy crapballs, I haven't recovered yet!
Gold, Jerry…..gold.
I love how when Geddy is on its all polite and civil, then when he leaves it turns into absolute chaos
Rush has been my favorite band for 44 years and I never wanted to meet Geddy or Alex or especially Neil . He wrote the song Limelight about “I can’t pretend this stranger is a long awaited friend “ and I totally respect his privacy and RIP Mr Peart .
I saw Rush 54 times from 12/8/85 to 8/1/15 and it was a hell of a ride 🥁👌😎😊
I must've seen Geddy a dozen times in Toronto over the past 40 years, just going about his day, on the sidewalk or in a restaurant or wherever, and for a brief second I have an urge to say something to him, but then I realize how I'd probably feel about strangers accosting me daily, regardless of their intent, and I say nothing. You know, now that I think of it, I don't recall ever seeing Alex or Neil, and I think that's because I never really watched their performances until recently, and just listened to the recordings, and on first glance they're just non-descript white guys like me, just 15 years older, so they didn't warrant further notice. In other words, I certainly DID see those two from time two time, I just didn't recognize them. But Geddy has always had such a distinctive look that you DO give him the second glance that makes your brain click.
Right? These guys weren't jerks about it, but they'd prefer to just meet a random stranger who had no idea who they were and just talk about whatever. If you want to know about the other stuff just read or watch an interview. They were interested in so much more than what they did for their day job.
Jason and Conan content never gets old.
Legendary
LMAO 😂😂😂

Who's Jason?

Jordan is the definition of edgelord
Give Jordan an AB test with all of his different masters, controlling for volume, and he could not tell them apart. In fact, throw in a few MP3's and he couldn't tell them from the lossless. Nor can anyone else.
Poor Jordan. He really is a human robot in a way, but he's also a (snobby) man of culture and taste. He really does put up with a lot from Conan, all for Conan (and friends and fans) to have a laugh, at his expense. We should all take a moment to honor Jordan, obnoxious snot that he can be at times, for being such a good sport, and sticking with Conan all these years, through all the (good humored-ish) abuse.
He's a lovably obnoxious prick lol
It’s all a bit and that’s why it works
I'm sure the money doesn't hurt...
“There I said it, I said it!” 😂😂😂
One minute in and Jordan is already Jordaning so hard
*of course* Jordan is an audiophile nerd.
“Jordaning”!! 😆😆
My husband has been in the audio business nearly his whole adult life-nearly 40 years-and at the independent store he started at (and eventually came to own) they had a word for Jordan-“factor”. I don’t remember who at the store started.
Jordan could be the poster boy for factors.
20 mins in and he is still Jordaning! 😂😂
@@Mixxie67 yeah, I've worked in sonar my entire adult life, so measuring and categorizing sound is something I've spent decades doing. there's definitely a lot of stuff in psychoacoustics that we don't fully understand and definitely a lot of "placebo effect" among audiophiles. enough time *thinking* something sounds better and it ultimately *does* sound better to them. (and grifters will rake them over the coals taking advantage of it haha.)
This is the strongest proof that Jordan has no script. He's just naturally obliviously funny
Unintentionally funny people are fascinating. Jordan in particular has strong extraterrestrial vibes.
It's definitely not unintentional but it's natural for sure
@@tweex1 he's so alien, but somehow, I relate to him so hard. must be my nerdy side, and conan just riffing on him is so hilarious and easy. 🤣
He’s definitely aware that the way he is and how he interacts with Conan is funny to people, but yeah, that doesn’t make it fake or unnatural. Huge fan of the Conan-Jordan dynamic.
Yeah, I knew from the beginning that he was just like that. There are so many dumbasses that think he is an actor doing a character
The Conan-Jordan dynamic is SO much fun to witness. I can't get enough of them together.

lmaoooo well done
😂
Hey, be nice. After all it WAS his birthday two months ago!!
“I wouldn’t want to meet me either” absolute gold
Paraphrasing Groucho Marx
Most people could relate I'd think lol
I’m still laughing at Geddy saying “F@ck no!” … I love the Tarana (Toronto) accent on it!
Born and raised in Toronto and we pronounce it more like "Trono". My best friend was business partners with Alex Lifeson and used to play tennis with Geddy and I was lucky enough to meet both of them and got Alex to sign my Strat and a Hemispheres CD cover and Geddy signed my Fender P bass. Both really nice guys and Alex was funny af. Wish I got to meet Neil too but I can't complain cause as Meatloaf says "two outta three ain't bad." Lol 😂 😎
As someone with Asperger's, I'm convinced Jordan has it too: His encyclopedic knowledge of a very specific niche topic, his long-winded monologues about said topic, formal way of speaking, his aversion to social interaction. He also seems to struggle a bit with interpreting sarcasm.
💯. And I vacillate between amazement that he’s leveraged his neurodivergence into a cash cow and cringing that his disability is the butt of jokes. But it’s with his participation as a grown adult so I guess joke away.
The way he just continues to talk about rush just as he was doing earlier when Geddy Lee is introduced without actually acknowledging or speaking to him too. Just talking about his own opinions without even saying hello or asking a question. My uncle is like that - you could tell him you'd won the lottery and he'd just continue talking about his houseplants or something.

Yes! Each video starts with them calmly talking to each other, then suddenly hell explodes
they are complete opposites, but they are both completely right about what they are talking about
@@Gravydog316 I dunno. Conan very clearly likes to pretend to be "mad" at Jordan for a lot that he really isn't, and he likes to blow up and make things chaotic and argumentative, for laughs. He pokes and prods Jordan a lot, trying to get reactions and to make fun of him. And Jordan just keeps on Jordaning, most of the time. Except when you finally push him a little too far, and he yells and actually says "the f word". But then calms right back down and goes back to Jordaning.
Seriously, Conan is always pushing Jordan. Jordan appears to be highly intelligent but Conan literally never lets him finish a full thought, ever

I absolutely love Jordan using his position to request things on behalf of the fans. Not demanding, but requesting. And those are definitely things that any fan would appreciate.
Rush fans have been asking for that bathroom break footage for decades!
I appreciate that Conan was deliberately misunderstanding it for comedy, but I thought it was cool that Jordan had that in the chamber ready to fire. He was speaking on behalf of Rush nerds everywhere and he didn't blow the moment.

Conan's hushed "Oh my God" in response to hearing his co-host nerd in with Morin Heights, Quebec is gold...
Jordan Schlansky knows what he's talking about: I've got a number of versions of Moving Pictures on CD and none sounded as good as the original LP I bought back in '81. And that was the Dutch pressing (which was the one I got since I happen to live in the Netherlands). The clarity and punch of the LP was incredible.
Original CD pressings sound great too. It's because from the 90's on digital formats have been cooked to be LOUD due to the LOUDNESS WARS. New vinyl doesn't suffer this either because it's hard to cook vinyl to be overly loud. So recent Rush vinyl releases tend to sound good too.
Recent remasters of rock releases tend to be much better than anything in the 90s and 00s which were part of the loudness wars these days engineers realized the issues and brought back the dynamic range in recent releases
