Camilla, it's so lovely to witness how your presence before the camera has evolved since you and Ollie started this channel. You're more and more relaxed and it's just so fun! Love that you did this workshop.
What an incredible experience you had, Camilla! I think fate was on your side here. The color of the chair is perfect and as you say, by finishing it at home you have a reason to continue to practice what you learned and will hopefully be inspired to carry on with other projects! Someday when the girls are giving tours of your home they will certainly be proud to point out all of the lovely restorations you lovingly worked on! You couldn’t have found a better teacher!
Oh Camilla you have found your ‘tribe’ & ‘vibe’. How wonderful to spend time learning a new skill with @the_girl_with_a_hammer at her workshop. Really enjoyed your trip to the lake. More! More! More! 👏👏👏👏❤️
Congratulations Camilla on a job very well done 👌 The Marie Antoinette Barbie chair is about to become a total triumph upon completion ...Bravo 👏👏👏👏 XX 💕
Kudos! How nice to be in an idyllic setting, surrounded by knowledgeable and friendly experts. The chair looks amazing. I found watching the whole process entirely engaging.
Was really enjoying your August 16, 2023 video. Suddenly, after a few minutes of viewing, the video stopped and a notification was provided that the video is "private". Wow. Just wow.
Oh my goodness I am so sorry it went a bit wrong. We are trying to sort it out and will put it up again as soon as we can. Sincere apologies as that must have been really annoying.
What a delight to be learning a new skill in such an idyllic setting and with a charming teacher. I have said this before. You are so capable and take everything in your stride no matter how difficult the challenge.
Wow, your chair is looking beautiful, Camilla. I love how you just went with the fact that they sent you the beautiful pink fabric...and look how fortuitous that was! I did a week-end upholstery workshop quite a few years ago. I had a gorgeous old ottoman with really old fabric that definitely needed replacing. My neighbour and I both did this workshop, and unfortunately she accidentally overdid the vodka jellies at a quiz night for a fundraiser at a bar, for her children's school, so she felt unsafe driving to day 2 of the course. So she asked if she could come in my car. 🚗 Well, the poor thing was battling throwing up 🤢 most of the day and looked so pale. Mid afternoon, she realised she needed a few more materials to complete her chair, so I drove her to the shop to get them. And that meant I didn't get to quite finish my ottoman....and to this day, it remains unfinished! 😏 Not that you can tell looking at it, but, of course, I know what needs to be done to complete it. So perhaps I ought to get on with it! Love Jacqueline from New Zealand
What a beautiful place to take an upholstery class. Your chair is gorgeous and I love the pink. You also had a fabulous teacher. Thanks so much for sharing.
Aww what a great souvenir Camilla thank you so much for this great vidéo! 🙌 Thanks also for bringing your sweet energy into my course! 🥰 It was a delight to have you all for this first international upholstery summer class! 🤗
How fabulous Camilla! The upholstered chair will be perfectly placed within your Marvelous Mansion...I can't wait to see it. What an amazing shop with outstanding talent to learn from. Lucky you 🥰👏👏
Camilla, this was awesome. Celine, thank you for showing your business and skill. All of the chairs are very impressive. The like scenery is georgeous.❤
You have learnt such a useful skill and the end result is just delightful . I spent many a holiday in Annecy as a child and it is definitely the loveliest place !
I think it’s fabulous that you’ve taken this course. I wondered, however, why go to France? But I see that your teacher is an upholstery artist and exceptional in her profession. Celine is delightful as well. I look forward to your future efforts.
Celine is everything we imagine a gorgeous French woman to be, Kudos to her for keeping this tradition alive, we are losing every skill which made us human, creating and working with our own two hands, curses on Alexa and Siri.
Great job Ryan. Great clean up and trips to the tip. Now that those walls have been stripped of wall paper. Suggestion if your going to just paint walls. Go to hardware store get a product called TSP. Put in your spray bottle and wash the walls and glue off. Then prime walls. Then paint walls. Now wear goggles when cleaning with TSP. Take it f4om me who got it in her eye. Do ceilings as well.
Well done Camilla it will be lovely in your room with the pinky flowers. Nothing wrong in putting a bit of Barbie vibe in ones life. Always wanted to visit Annecy. 😘
Great job Camilla. Celine has a wonderful shop and is a fun teacher. You did a lovely job on your chair. Your filming locations are so beautiful. Blessings.
I would have loved to see your hotel. As well as some of the meals you had in that most picturesque city. I think you and your teacher could become lifelong friends....and her knowledge of historic furniture must be immense....! Kudos to her.!! You have done a fine job on your Marie A chair.
Many years ago I worked briefly in an Antique upholstery restoration shop. I know first hand the skills you learned in one short week will serve you well as you continue to tackle challenging projects. What a fun time. Thanks for bringing us along.
How I enjoyed your journey into upholstery Camilla! I did a couple of courses not that long ago too and shared your excitement and the process for your chairs creation. Yes its hard work but so satisfying. The artisan here in Melbourne I did the courses with uses the line “saving the world, one chair at a time” as the chairs are always road side or vintage finds. Id love to be able to share my creation with you, pity I cant add a pic here.
Love that you are learning new skills since you will need them for the future and it will save you soo soo much money 🙌🏻🙌🏻 wish I could help you but good luck 👍🏻
Hi Camilla, Once again, you have undertaken a fascinating project✅. Love that you’re such a perfectionist, but also, love that you’ll tackle anything.💚💗! Your excellent taste shines through, and you should really be proud of your beautiful chair.🪑 Besides viewing your work, I also enjoyed hearing from the instructor 👩🏫, seeing the shop and range of selection, plus the glorious scenery 🏝🦆🦋🌳. I bet you’ll find yourself a few more upholstering projects now👍 Very enjoyable 😊. Thank you.
Your chair is going to look really beautiful Camilla! Congratulations ! Just the sort of course I’d like to do, and in such a delightful place too. Thanks for sharing it🙏🏼
Such a beautiful place! And your chair looks so lovely!!! I had no idea there was so much more than just covering the chairs in fabric! That's awesome!!
Nice work on the 'Barbie~Marie Antoinette' chair, Camilla! I love the soft pink/green combination. I look forward to your continuing process and ultimate reveal. I so enjoyed the brief period of relaxation with the lapping waves...heaven. Thank you so much for sharing. ox
Oh my goodness, the adorable curious energy you have for creating custom treats for your family home is very refreshing. Thank you so much for taking us all along on this journey with you! 💖
This was a great experience to share and the scenery of this beautiful French town was spectacular. I love doing upholstery, so this would be a dream course for me to do! Your Barbie chair was amazing!
Camilla this vlog was brilliant. Thanks for taking us along to beautifull Annacee. Youve found a wonderful teacher. Should your budget allow I hope Celine can teach you how to do the wallpanels too.The material you showed with the flamingoes is lovely for your diningroom.
I did a chair in lockdown with the help of youtube videos, but interesting to watch how to do springs. Maybe cue for another course. The chair will go perfectly with a number of your rooms.
Looks like you had a fabulous time on your Course! Well done! Chair looks beautiful! I'm just about to reupholster a chair and really excited to see the end result!😊🥳
I hope you get the bamboo chairs restored rather than doing the fabric seat like you saw. The wicker seat is so lovely. And it could be another skill for you to learn if you find another workshop. Your chair turned out good. It will look lovely in the bedroom.
Good on you! We visit Annecy regularly but didn't know about this business. As we're looking for cushion fabric we'll now drop by. All the best with finishing the chair.....Maria
Camilla, the shots and the editing, including the speedy montage at the end of this video, were all so much fun! You and Celine are a great team. Actually, years ago in the US, my grandmother did a caning workshop: she learned how to recreate the basketweave style seat of a lovely antique chair. It took her forever to finish re-caning that chair, but it was very beautiful in the end. Maybe you can find a caning workshop someone in Europe? And please take us with you if you do? Many Thx.
Well done Camilla! Annecy seems to be a lovely location to maintain health and well being. It is good to see that you are travelling and following your own interests, like Ollie is able to do. I also did a course on soft furnishing years ago but I just made a bench cushion, dining chair seat covers and covered an ottoman. I enjoyed the course very much. Other courses studied were French and Gardening but linked to my employment, I had to study for more job related exams.
You did so great! I absolutely love you chair , gorgeous pink even though you got the “wrong” fabric. This was another lovely and interesting video! Thanks for sharing, your such a sweet , funny and intelligent lady ❤️🥰
What a fun episode and beautiful lake. Love your ability to laugh at yourself Camilla. So glad you had such a great teacher. Her shop is to die for.
What an absolutely fantastic vlog…..thank you so much Camilla and boy your skills are just adding up. Well done you.
Camilla, it's so lovely to witness how your presence before the camera has evolved since you and Ollie started this channel. You're more and more relaxed and it's just so fun! Love that you did this workshop.
Maybe Camilla could treat herself to a little French cottage as a weekender. Imagine the fabrics & cushions. 🫶 x
Thank you for showing us the chair upholstery process. So fascinating.
“Minimalism is dead” Music to my ears.
😆😘😘
I loved that statement too!! I am far from a minimalist!!!
Great skill to acquire! 🌺

Very well done Camilla looking amazing 😅
I would use some type of tweezer to hold tack nails- needle nose pliers.
Would like to take a class like this. Upholstery is very costly. The coconut fiber must be replacing horsehair of days gone by
