As a retired interior designer I found the history and process of Lincrusta fascinating. It would be so nice if they could reproduce your paper and provide it with the idea of showcasing the finished project in a video. You could be a great advertisement for historic preservation and restoration.

You can drive in any country if you take driver's training in the US. I used to have a few foreign exchange students in my Driver's Ed classes. If they could get into the class, it was much cheaper and easier to get a license than in Europe. To tell the truth, they were excellent students and did very well, especially since they weren't allowed to drive outside of class like is required by US students.

So Michael got his talent from his uncle and his aunts ability to illustrate. Loving the tour, congratulations on the test. A long time ago in the early 60’s in north east texas we had driving text books and drivers ed and got our license at 14. Given that it was so far away from places we had to be able to drive to get anywhere! Bizarre

Looks like you boys had a fabulous time together. The showroom at Lincrusta had so much to look at. I wish you could have spent a little more time looking at samples so we could understand just how vast their collection is. So much beauty and possibility in one place. I really hope you can make more time to go back and have a proper look at things. I think the master suite as well as the other rooms on the first floor at the chateau should also be done in the same period as the main floor, if you can raise the finds to do it. Those rooms would have been occupied by the owners, and would have been decorated with the same finery as the main floor. Of course, Billy and Gwendolyn would need to make all the final decisions on how they're decorated. Don't be afraid to dream really big, guys. Just look what all you've accomplished in just 7 years. Sending you all lots of love and hope you have a wonderful week ahead.

Lots of great places you visited, thank you for taking us along👍🏼. I started driving when I was about 13, our family owned blueberry fields that were harvested in late August. The berries were stacked in piles of wooden boxes around the fields and at days end they were gathered into a 5 ton truck and driven to a processor. My Dad always wanted a son but got two daughters so I got to learn the son stuff which included driving that huge truck around the field while he and a hand loaded boxes. I couldn’t reach the pedals and see out the window so they yelled directions to me as I jerked the truck around, it’s a wonder I didn’t tear the clutch out of it.😂🤣 I never actually got my legal license until age 21 , congratulations of getting your theory done, I think that’s much harder than getting the driving part. Go to a smaller town or village with a smaller car to get that part, I’d be worried to have to take it in Chelsea. 🙋🏼‍♀️

Great to see you back Michael. Highclere is on my list of places to visit but found your visit to Lincrusta really interesting. Are they open to the public to visit to see their fabulous designs? Congratulations on passing your theory, hope you can get booked in to do your test within your 2 years. Looking forward to seeing how the cottage is progressing.

The wast Cultural and Artistic riches of Europe never ceases to amaze! It's just incredible that the company still exists and produces these stunning wall-coverings, just as they did hundreds of years ago! So exited to follow the Lincrusta journey back to the Chateau, and keeping fingers crossed they will be able to reproduce it! ❤

If you kept part of the original paper and had it framed like the Marketing lady said, you could hang it on the new wallpaper in an exact location that you wouldn't normally see it, if you use a sample in a frameless mount.

A lovely video Michael. So exciting to see Highclere castle. We were to have visited there as one of our stops for our 50th anniversary in 2020, but the world shut down and we never made it.

Great about the wall covering being reproduced! I loved how the whole process was explained, both vlogs. I see road trips in your future! What other projects are you working on? Has the bathroom been built in your cottage?
