My first time there was USAC in 73. Sheldon Kinser won. I raced there in 1980 and actually made an Outlaw A Main with Steve Kinser and Swindell. I think I only got lapped once. Can't remember lol.
I loved the old non cage cars. I got to see IMCA a lot more than USAC, though. I guess 1966 was the deadliest year ever for USAC with six drivers getting killed.
Depending on the number of cars signed in, probably five from each heat and two from the B, inverting the heats. Straight up for the feature. It was just too dangerous using an invert for the feature with no cages.
i'd love to have a time machine and be able to attend an Eldora USAC race from the early years

The feature race was 30 laps, does anyone know how the qualifying heats worked? How many laps? How many cars advanced to the feature?
