  • This brief video walks through creating a basic sound visualization macro within Geopix 2.0.
The macro captures audio input from the Groove music player and maps the audio frequencies to rainbow colors with low frequencies being red, mids greens/yellows and highs blues/violets.
We use the FFT node to analysis the audio input and produce a black and white spectrograph texture.
The texture is composited with a Ramp set to rainbow hue colors.
A Look-up node can be used to reposition the rainbow spectrum colors to match a circular to create a circular spectrograph with audio lows/reds in the center and highs/violets on the outside.
If you're interested in other kinds of sound visualizations, let me know and I will create more Geopix videos!
