Mobley's perspective on this is priceless; literally lived the life that Ja wants so desperately, is also a father to someone who looks up to Ja, there is genuine fear and discouragement in his voice discussing this. He has a responsibility to his daughter to be the best possible man he can be, and he continuously chooses the foolish decision. I believed he could turn it around after the last incident. For his daughters sake I'll pray for his growth out of this behavior

Just scrolling through the comments, i see Ja has a lot of enablers who are still making excuses for him.

Luka. Giannis. Jokic. None of the Euro dudes get into trouble.

If I ever see you holding a gun, I am making sure you get suspended also
@@HardCold-Alquan You can suspend him for a repeat code of conduct violation. Maybe not a year, but likely enough time and means for Ja to get the message.
@@HardCold-Alquan He beat up a 17 year old in his backyard and flashed a gun. His friends rolled up on the Pacers team bus pointing a laser gun at them, he’s threatened an employee with his security to shoot him, he now flashed guns multiple times.
Flashing a gun on social media gets you arrested in NYC. He’s doing it because he’s in Memphis with an open carry rule. Doesn’t mean it makes sense.
@@ptahhoteptmu264 NYC cannot make a law about flashing a gun, since guns are legal. Last I checked, Morant never went to court and is walking freely, so what crimes did he commit?
Cuttino's point about parenting is on point. So many parents don't hold their kids accountable for any of their actions. A friend of mine who is a teacher has told me about how parents come in and get hostile with her because their kids failed a test or didn't get a grade. Like it's her fault their kid didn't study and apply themselves. Everything is someone else's fault. I imagine that is the type of bad parenting that Morant grew up with.
Chad Chadwick: as a teacher,I have seen parents act the fool because a principal is holding their children accountable for their actions. The point Cat made about youth sports is why I stopped coaching. The Grizzlies have to put their foot and tell Ja Morant that it's either our way of the highway.
Dude it's bad when it comes to the parenting I love and is from the hood but was recently shocked when I was at the grocery store and seen a father with his two teenage boys and was completely comfortable because he was a gangster himself with his son's shaking up a gang handshake 😂 and I got a cousin and not only him but his two boys was all on house arrest together because he taught them his criminal ways so yeah it's bad
His mother is obviously toxic and his father might possibly be an alcoholic
There's no accountability!!! It's not his friends, family, etc. It's his fault. He's an adult!!!

Ja Morant is ignorant on purpose. This is self-inflicted and he knows exactly what he’s doing.
Too bad that’s common in certain districts of the city. It’s his fault. Gilbert Arenas got kicked out of the league for same thing. He made the league tons of money but he was the 1st high level player to go down this path.

Ric Bucher is SPITTIN' on this one! Hard-headed people have to be SHOWN that the authority is serious. Otherwise, they will not adjust their behaviors.
Facts
@ShemShakur no one said he did tardo
@ShemShakur He violated the work code of the NBA. You must be 10 years old. Do your parents know that you have a RUclips account? When you become an adult, you will soon realize that if you have a real job, there are certain behaviors you cannot exhibit in public.
Ja Morant is one of the public faces of a multi-billion dollar franchise. He cannot ignore the codes of conduct that they have instituted for every player. This is true for employees of large companies, teachers at schools, medical staff at hospitals, and anywhere where you represent a face to the public.
All of those places have workplace codes of conduct--ESPECIALLY the NBA--and Ja Morant was warned with that slap on the wrist from earlier in the season. Apparently, that wasn't enough to jolt him into not potentially throwing away a multi-hundred million dollar career.
@@princellasmith7562 Workplace codes of conduct apply in the actual workplace. Ja wasn't at work. Next, you mention work code, please enlighten all of us and provide the specific work code that Ja violated. That may be difficult because Adam Silver still hasn't done it.

Really it's not illegal, and I bet you're that same dude who fights against gun laws...smh
David Stern would have done that in a Heartbeat.
@@monochrome493 it's 100% illegal to brandish a weapon in your vehicle, or in public. Brush up on your laws dude, because you're just flat out wrong. A simple Google search would tell you that. People like you are part of the problem.
@@monochrome493 The NBA has set a standard of their players not flashing guns or having guns on their premises. The advertisers and sponsors have as well. This isn’t about the 2nd Amendment. These are private companies. They can do whatever they want.
Being young, you’ll make mistakes. Refusing to learn or change is no longer a mistake, it’s desired behavior. Some people refuse to learn, and risk losing it all.
Facts
He's not a kid but a man. A young man but still a man. As a man he will feel consequences for his actions, some positive and some will be negative. He's already missed out on almost $39 million for not making the All-NBA teams. That's just a start. These companies can and will pull their endorsement contracts or not renew them if he becomes too much of a headache PR wise. Chris Broussard on his show talked about another negative consequence. Ja being tested by actual gangsters to see how tough he really is definitely is a possibility if he continues down this path. This is why you don't play with fire because it might just burn you or worse.
That was spot on
@@MrJpaynebb that’s why I never said kid I said young. I did dumb stuff in my 20’s, but I was smart enough (maybe blessed enough) to not have made any ice altering mistakes. He continues to play the tough guy roll somebody is going to pull his card. The man could literally become one of the faces of the nba. I tell my 8 year old your decisions equal your consequences, good or bad.
Very true, he'll learn one way or another just like most people have but hopefully sooner than later but with him making all that money, it might be very challenging on him to listening to ANYBODY. I'm pulling for him to get right. Consequences can be something he can't pay for. A entitled superstar hanging with the wrong people can be insane
Previous Ja Morant incidents -- beat up a 17 year old and pulled a gun on him; showed up at the mall to intimidate; he and his friends pointed red dots (from guns) on Pacers team as they were headed to the team bus. It is beyond him twirling guns on IG live, he has used his guns in other settings that could have injured someone seriously.

You guys did an amazing segment regarding Ja. It’s not a race issue, it’s about what is right and wrong. An employer dictates what you can do, like it or not. I just wish Ja would reach out to a Lebron and let him be a mentor. I may not be a fan of Lebron’s politics, but he is a good dude all around. And I can’t help but think Lebron would be willing to be a big brother, lebron seems like an amazing person.
This country is built on slavery and the decedents of slaves are still suffering..so everything has to do with race because at the end of the day it’s still racist politicians in congress who don’t ever want guns laws that need to be in place because the gun has always been their tool of control over those they have conquered..

Joy always hits the nail on the head 🎯🎯🎯
Back in the day, if a kid did something wrong in the streets, the neighbor had permission to "discipline" that child. Then when Moms got home they'd get the belt.
Today, if you just tell a child he or she is wrong, they wanna fight you because you hurt their feelings
Facts. Bad parenting is rampant and destroying society.
The craziest part about this whole thing is the mom stories and why the high school isn’t calling the police on an adult breaking into the school to assault a teenage girl student….
💯 Joy speaks facts! Dude has no one to blame but himself. Fake hustling backwards.
The only thing I disagree with Joy on is that most people in the country are ok with gun violence. We have done polls and even 51% of Republicans want some form of gun control. But the reason nothing changes is because we live in a fake democracy and the rich lobbyists who donate to politicians are the ones who get to decide the laws. Not us the people who a large majority of us wants some form of gun control.
Ja needs to cut people off and grow up. Hes about to throw away his NBA career if he doesnt get his act together. Like Maya Angelou says if someone shows you who they are believe them.
Does that only apply to bad things or does that mean the good things too? Cause everybody runs that quote out there all the time these days?
Maybe it’s not his friends only but himself he is the problem. Ja is an adult it’s his own doing
I love what Cat AND Joy both said. Nobody talks about the fact that Ja is a father himself AND he knows the consequences of the decisions that he is making but he is still making them. We need to stop using the term "mental health" for everything. Sometimes you just do bad or stupid stuff and that's what Ja continues to do
GREAT TALKING POINTS FROM THE ENTIRE PANEL .. 👍🏾💯
Right Joy right, let him be he is Grown
Mobley said everything I had in mind In addition, the sincerity of his speech reflects a real experience and the choices that have led to such a long career.
Ja's mother also not a good example for him. She is literally setting up fights for Ja and he would bring his crew to fight without even analyzing the situation. Ja may have a good IQ for basketball, but his IQ for life is really subpar. I hope he can turn his life around as quickly as possible. Otherwise, this movie might have a terrible ending.
That bald spray fade is cracking me up 🤣
As a Tennessee native I can say it's pretty hard to stay out of trouble in Memphis. Ja just gonna have to learn its a lot funner pretending to be hard with money then without. He sure ain't gonna make that working no streets around here. Sad part is a lot of the people in the projects could stay in their lane for that kind of money. He just wanting to throw it away.
BIG FACTS !! This generation you punished them for two seconds, and then you can let them back out. They will never learn so if I was the NBA I would suspend Ja for the whole season to send a HUGE MESSAGE!!!
Fantastic segment to get multiple different point of views on this situation. Ja is playing a dangerous game, and I hope he learns something from whatever the repercussion are.
David Stern would off made an example out of him the 1st time around that he would of really thought about doing it again.
He's digging his own grave. He wants to be a gangster and doesn't think the law applies to him.

Mikey won’t even get drafted. The trouble he is in BEFORE the league….is too much. He is cooked. No one is drafting him. He is not Lebron-level where they would deal with that. He is borderline, at best. Not worth it.

Stop it. Make it utterly painful for him. Suspend him for a year with no pay.
I may not agree with everything these people say like their politics or their sports opinions but I think they said a lot of great things in this episode and they were keeping it real hope ja can learn this time
I think the most interesting part about this whole Ja saga including all the incidents is…it’s not like this was his rookie year. He will be entering his 5th season in the league next year. He was the golden boy of the NBA…who didn’t enjoy watching play and that literally flipped like night and day. Obviously his dad has gotten away from parenting him. And his mom calling him like he’s the enforcer when he has everything to lose. That entire family needs a wake up call and not just Ja.
One of the more intelligent conversations I've observed in a while. Make Ja the example that no one is impervious to true consequences before it's too late.
"You say you a gangsta but you never pop nothin'. You say you a wanksta and you need to stop frontin" - 50 Cent
