  • Ja Morant was suspended from Memphis Grizzlies activities after flashing a gun on his friend's Instagram Live. He issued an apology shortly accepting responsibility for his actions. Commissioner Adam Silver said that he was 'shocked' by the video and is 'assuming the worst' when discussing repercussions. Emmanuel Acho, Joy Taylor, LeSean McCoy and Ric Bucher debate on whether Ja should be suspended or not.

Most people also want some form of gun control to lessen these mass shootings. the only reason it hasn’t happened yet is because we don’t really live in a democracy. It's not about criminality, but holding someone accountable for what they agreed to. Criminal justice system is for legality of actions, but this is a contract that he agreed to, violated, agreed not to violate again and got CAUGHT 2 months later.

If your company weather its the NBA or Home Depot tells you not to do something because it violates their standards, if you want privilege to continue working there then you shouldn't do it. It's not just about the g_n people. There are a number of issues that Jah has been tied to off the court. We are not privy to everything the NBA front office and Grizzlies ownership is aware of. The NBA has always had a hard stance on g_ns. Gilbert Arenas basically lost his whole career because of g_ns. It's not a joke. Gambling is not illegal, but in the world of sports, it is a very bad thing. We saw what happened to the greatest baseball player in MLB history if you ask me Pete Rose. These leagues have policies. All players are aware of these policies. There are multi-billion deals being done with other corporations. You can't have the young stars of the league doing the things Jah is doing, and I will remind you we don't know the whole story. All I know it's not just about a g_n.

Sports bylaws have no double jeopardy. Pat Beverly shoves Ayton and gets a heavier suspension because of his “past history.” Ja should get a heavier suspension because of his “past history.” Clearly he feels the rules do not apply to him. If this was the NFL, conduct detrimental, he’d get 8 games or half a season. He should get half a season in the NBA. If this was the ONLY incident, and we don’t have a Colorado Night club incident, or the Footlocker incident, or the Volleyball game incident, or the Pacers laser incident, or the beating up a 17-year-old incident…lets focus on getting him help. I still feel the focus should be on getting him help, but you’re not playing NBA basketball until you do.

Ja gonna get a lentghtly suspension because he's had multiple incidents in what like a year multiple of which there was an alleged gun present. Now you creating the image that you potentially could be a hostile individual who has no self control. NOT SAYING HE IS but that's the impression people are getting and the league isn't gonna have someone like that representing them. They not saying Ja you can't have a gun they saying don't post it and stop flashing it . The main reason they are gonna come down on him is cus the lazers pointed at the pacers. Silver had a talk with him and you do it again . So now your showing not only could you be potentially hostile and unable to control yourself but now you can't be trusted at your word either. So now even if they gave Ja the benefit like he's just a kid blah blah blah they are gonna look at it like well he clearly can't be trusted at his word or reached verbally
