Amy you are absolutely right. Worx provides no information on how to install the line an dit was frustrating tringto find any information until I found this video
Thank you for taking the time to do this. I have a new worx nitro and need new string now. Just found out there’s no spool replacement and you have to do the string yourself. Now i can get to work again!
The video isn't correct. You can follow the video and remove any left-over line around the spool, but then reassemble it before inserting the new line. Then just look into the hole where the string is supposed to come out and make sure you can see all the way out the other end (twist if you need to line up the holes). Then just feed the line through so that 2m are on each side, and wind in the line by twisting in the direction shown on the bottom of the trimmer head. Then reassemble the head back onto the drive shaft.
@@kenbob1071 this is virtually impossible. Just saying.. all the while holding the trimmer in place and the head in place at the same time. I've yet to get that tiny hole aligned on the other side. I just recently purchased thinking this would be a better design. WG185 Nitro 40V Brushless 15" Cordless String Trimmer
Completely the wrong way to do it, you don't need to remove the spool, just line up the holes so you can see straight through, feed the line through them twist, simples.
Exactly. The directions really suck, though. They need to explain it better. In my case, I had to remove the spool because the string on one side had retracted completely into the housing. I pulled the string out, closed up the housing, then restrung it by lining up the holes, pushing the string through so equal amounts were exposed on both sides, and then simple twisted the feeder to wind.
Don't take the head off!! Just feed the string through the two holes (you will have to squeeze the head and spinner to be able to see through the head and make sure your holes are lined up. Then just feed the sting through , crank it down clockwise and leave about 6-8 inches of string out on both sides. You'll be ready to go and be a lot easier and faster.
@@BenSmithTampa I know! And I do it just like that. But, unfortunately, I needed to know how to open it, cause the string was blocked inside (it happened, with the "original" string)

You are awesome! I actually just did it using your instructions. Your way is THE way and if you make a video it will really help everyone struggling. It is so easy this way. Thanks so so much!!!! ❤️
My top part (bottom part?) won't rotate in order to wind the string. I don't know if I broke it somehow but nothing moves. I might have to buy a new head but I dont know if the "universal" heads out there will fit this. Any ideas?
I loaded in about 10' and it took no problem. Obviously make sure you have even amounts on both sides before you wind it into the trimmer head like when you're lacing a shoe.

Thank you thank you thank you!! This video is exactly what I needed. The manual came with very few instructions and this was so so helpful!
You're welcome, Amy! Glad this video helped!
It helped. Thx

I love this video- you had approximately the same amount of struggle as I was having, which was very reassuring.
You made a dreadful and difficult task easy. Thanks so much!
Yes, thanks for your help. It would have been good for you to talk as well, but I'm very grateful for the video.

Not the best way to replace the string, but I needed to know how to open it (I could not find it in the "useful" manual)

Is there a video that shows your method?
Can you show a video of how you do it please? 🙏🏻

good video.
Thank you for posting this video, approximately how many feet of line is necessary to fill the spool?
About 18' of .095 line Jeff : )

Does anyone know the capacity length of the trimmer string? In other words how much does the trimmer hold. Great video - thank you!

Maybe talking and explaining what you're doing would be very helpful.

Totally agree
Where did you purchase the replacement string?
You want .095" trimmer string, brand doesn't matter. Amazon, local Hardware store, any Home Center, even Walmart carries it.
