    Great video. Thanks! I'm going to try it. My wife just today asked me if we could use a much stronger .095 filament that we have on one of those $14 rolls, and I said that I didn't think so. You have now taught me something and changed my mind! This is what is so great about RUclips.

    You are my hero! I hear lawn care professionals I have seen on RUclips like Husqvarna trimmer line. But the professional line does not come in .065, however, it does come in .095. I will most definitely give your hack a try! I love the Worx Trimmer for home use. It is lightweight and perfect for me since I'm recovering from a back injury. Other trimmers are too heavy. Their 20V system works for my yard which is 800 sq feet. Thank you for sharing this hack!!!

    Thank you for sharing this!!! God bless you for being so kind and instructive right to coming up to the camera and showing the details. I had just bought the Ryno line at 125ft and the .0095 as you shared. I went to Home Depot and they didn’t have the small circles like you showed, and I was looking at that it said it was tough and longer lasting as a pro grade line than traditional residential ones. But when I returned home my husband told me I was supposed to get the spool package you shared and that this line was too big as you showed. So I said well let’s look on RUclips and see if there’s something on how to and there was a lady who said she linked you into her page because you showed the best way to spool the line... Well and there you were, Awesome 👏. You made my day cause now I don’t have to return it standing in line during this pandemic. You’re the Best! JZ Clark💁🏽🙏🏽👏

    I used your advice and it worked like a dream. Worx would do well to do this as an upgrade for their lower tier trimmers. The spools they send give the impression that the tool itself is somewhat 'less-than', when it's really just the cheap trimmer line. Thanks for the information.

    Brother, you can also buy 2.00 mm wire (.080inch diameter).. it is accessible and a company called speed pro sells heavy duty professional line (40ft was $3 at home depot) and the fitment is perfect. Made in the USA! I just realized this tonight looking at videos realizing I'm not alone lol but yeah better off getting .080 wire. Stock wire is a rip off! Cpuldnt get through 15 minutes on what they gave me with the machine... figured this out waiting 5 days for another spool to come so I can finish my front lawn... 😒

    This is a hack?! I've been doing this since I bought mine! 😊 I went straight to Home Depot and purchase a big pack of line and I've thought twice about it. The one I purchased is stronger than what came with the machine and it fits perfectly inside the notch. I never have to hassle with the trimming it to fit. 😊

      Update: Bought same line you spoke of, had to trim down the end like you said to make it fit securely into the starting spot. I wound that string tight as hell into the workx Gt trimmer spool, BUT here's the thing. The second i went to use it, it would over feed on it its own and get tangled under the spool head. Any ideas on what to do? You know the manual line release button thats on the spool head itself, i noticed that when i just pulled on the string it wasn't locking, its as if i was pressing the feed button. I'm not sure what to do at this point.

    • @jurassicsushi
      @jurassicsushi 4 года назад +1

      Another Update. I was putting the line on the spool backwards lol. Re-spooled it the way of the arrows and it works better for sure. For some reason though i still have to feed it out, but it does last longer than the standard string it comes with. One good idea is to get the Free refills once(you pay shipping thats all) and re-spool them ahead of time with the thicker line.

    The same company that makes the star shaped filament sells blue colored rolls that will fit on the Worx spools without being trimmed. The overall line diameter is smaller however, yet it's still reasonably tough compared to the filament Worx uses.

    Wow, this is quite weird that Worx pushes you guys to replace the line by buying pre-filled spools. I have recently bought their trimmer here in Russia and our shops sell trimmers, optional spare empty spools and third-party bare line packages like yours from Home Depot, of different thickness. And the manual to the trimmer describes the process of refilling the spool with the line. I guess they know we would not buy expensive pre-filled spools when the spool itself serves for long time and you can refill it for cheap. And yeah, their original line is really soft, meh. Cheers!
