I like how the workers called out on Reika for her choice of words. She literally told Tanaka “There are other replacements to take your place”. Saying something like that can damage one’s confidence and make them think they’re not needed and that’s why Tanaka quit. Not to mention she said that to the person she has a crush on. This is why they saying be careful of what you say

I really think Tanaka shoulda quit his job, moved away, and gotten a new job in his new town. Then a year later, he comes back and finds out from Ayaka that Reika's company is on the verge of bankruptcy because he left. I just feel like Reika got off too easy for how harshly she treated him, even if it was unintentional. And I also feel like Ayaka would be a better girlfriend for Tanaka. At least she doesn't put him down constantly to "encourage" him. Seriously, Reika's stupidity needs harsher consequences.

I feel like piss, and like I am taking advantage of the company. So yeah, ify boss ever went,"we have plenty of replacements" I would be out the door immediately as well.

I'm glad that she was able to learn her lesson and make it up in time
I rather have her being honest instead of being dishonest
I also used to work at a place where my boss would say harsh words to me, and they never change, and they said it's very common for people from Asia to talk to people like that, it a way to encourage them by using their rages of being humiliated to prove for themselves, but it only works for people who has a strong competitiveness, it doesn't fits well for people who has sensitive mind, and most people are discouraged by that nowadays, so sad that still many people believe that and still say harsh words to others in Asia.

There is definitely a misunderstanding, but it is different than you think. The misunderstanding is caused by Reika, who misinterprets her own words. Putting thoughts into words isn't easy for some people, which is why her subordinates should have pointed this out to her directly and confronted her.

A friend of mine was castigated like this. When he finally resigned the management thought that they've got rid of a thrash. Barely 2 weeks after his resignation his former office kept in texting and calling him for help since only he knows how the work was done. They've tried to figure out how he did it but failed fabulously.
Since no one even asked how he did his work before he left, he just told them that he left everything there for them both in soft copy and hard copy to learn. They were totally shocked.

Efficient workers not getting raises, firing crucial workers thats are in rare workfields or employees that revolutionised the company's systems. Then gets confused of why their business is going down

Words. The wrong choice of words can have a terrible effect. Sort of like throwing stones to someone, it matters little if you regret doing it ' the stone has been cast, the insult or slight delivered. Apologizing may be the only way to solve things - that is, if they are sincere.

Telling a hard working employee they are replacable easily won't make them happy, that is really easy to understand concept. How in the fuck writer could think they can pass this off as such. Come on... Or is it the "lost in translation" crap when the sentence could have beden different, because I heard these are made into Japanese first... Hmm
