Sennecke grew a TON in the summer last year and he didn’t have his balance. Once he did, he was LETHAL. Imagine Mtl trades back to 10-13 to acquire a Dach/Newhook type and then takes him. It’d be nerve wracking but genius if it worked out.
In a perfect world , I’d love to be able to draft 2 and grab Demidov, then pray Lindstrom is available at 5 if we stay there! If not, I’m hearing Hughes is looking at Sennecke… a big winger whose stock is rising fast last half of the season! One thing is evident the last 2 drafts, we took size and skill! Slaf and Reinbacher both big boys! It’s exactly what we need in Montreal! Big strong forwards!
@@louisstabile1182 In a perfect worl...why not the first pick if you win the lottery; you still need to win the lottery as well for the 2nd pick overall ???
@@louisstabile1182 obviously 1st! But who’s trading the 1st overall pick? It’s slim to none but there is a slim chance a team might be enticed to trade the number 2 pick for a decent haul! That’s my what I’m suggesting and more probable than trying to move up to 1 lol! 😂
This team has an amazing variation of trades for players or picks available to them. Kent Hughes knows his onions. I expect that he will do whatever he can to improve the team.
By the end of the next season our top 6 dmen will be , top pair of Matheson and guhle , 2nd pair of hudson and reinbacher , 3rd pair or arber and logan .
Without injuries it would be a great trade, don't forget that the Ovy check was the event that screw his career, way before his mental health issues.. But yeah don't trade a top 10 before trying him, Reinbacher is ours!
Struble is too valuable to be used in a pick-trade-up move. He is a clear cut NHL defenseman, just like Harris, but has that top4 playoff type defenseman potential. Harris + WPG pick to go to 15~18 - maybe. Struble could only be moved for a sure-shot youngster in a Dach-like trade (Perfetti, Lundell would be my most-likely targets based on the other team's needs + cap considerations + Habs fit - otherwise Kakko, although I don't see NYR being interested in a Dman)
Don’t trade down. If all the top forwards are gone then that means a number 1 or 2 dman will be available at 5th. You take that dman and start dealing from a position of strength.
30:59 you cant add either marner or Nylander ,adding a player from outside of the team making over 3mil more then our top player ( not including price) completely ruins ths teams salary cap structure .
Could we not trade Montreal's 5th pick with a prospect? For example, Calgary's 9th and 29th picks? We'd be left with three 1st-round picks: numbers 9, 27 and 29. Then package the 27th and 29th picks for Washington's 17th pick, or even New Jersey's 10th pick with a good sweetener. Canadiens making out with 9th and 10th seems better than 5th and 27th.
Sennecke i promise you will be a steal. Look at his highlights in the playoffs! Hes like a slaf in terms of easy to coach and looks to get better and WILL get better! Dont look at his pts totals because his second half of the season was SO GOOD and his playoffs hes been carrying his team even scored a highligjt real goal in a playoff game IN OVERTIME. Hes like a josh anderson with hockey iq and elite hands! Its what anderson should of been times 10. Trust me hes gonna be a beast! Imagine 2 beasts in slaf and Sennecke? This team will be so good in playoffs
I do believe that Sennecke might go higher than people originally expected...Even McKenzie has him presently at 14th, so the NHL scouts have an eye on him...The guy might "possibly" have more upside than Iginla. Montreal drafted good the last two years so I expect them to do their homework on Sennecke. In a few hours, we will know exactly what spot they will draft !!!
Lindstrom/Catton/Iginla are the three we need to target pending in our position, I'm assuming we're going to be drafting between 5-7 . Size is nice but you need skill and hockey IQ to be an elite player in this league. Can someone tell me about this Boisvert kid ? It seems he could be there for the Habs second 1st rdr.
If we dont get Lindstrom at #5 go for BPA. If its Levshunov so be it. Trade some of our D and some picks for a top 6 offensive player. Any of those top D will be beasts (perhaps even better than Reinbacher). I can easily see Saliyev at 6'7 playing with Hutson in a few years, and Reinbacher Ghule 2nd pairing.
How about a trade of Habs #28 and Arizona's #6. Habs # 28 and Matheson for Lindstrom or Catton whoever is still available. That's paying heavy for a move up but it can work for both teams.
Do not be surprised that no.2 pick in the draft is going to be Anton Silayev 6-7 / 212 pounds. He gains a pound every month and one inch in height every year for the next 2.
If we have 30 picks to come, we should move some of what we have to get rid of contracts. Namely Anderson and Gally. This to me is huge for moving forward. Cheers
I’m just gonna guess those prospect numbers aren’t actually out of 10… like, they don’t have Mailloux as a 3.9 out of 10 while also having them as the third best prospect pool. It doesn’t make sense. It’s gotta be a different scoring system.
Say montreal ends up with 6th pick this year , they add in Calgarys 1st next year and the jets 1st this year to move up to the 3rd spot , San jose has a pretty rough prospect group moving down 3 spots and adding 2 additional 1st round picks would be worth it , could still get a good dman at the 6 spot

I know the habs have tons of defensemen but if Silayev is available , I would take him in a heartbeat . Too big and too good of a skater to pass on, he won’t be the most productive player in this draft but the team he plays on won’t be submissive , they’re going to be the aggressor.
