I live watching these videos after the fact. One year later and the company is worth another $20 Billion less. Goes to show that all the amazing facts in the world can’t overcome overvaluation.
Great video at a good time! It is interesting to me that you both chose to buy Paypal even though it scores in the midrange of your investment checklists. Is the decision to buy driven primarily by valuation in this case? My recollection from some prior videos is that valuation isn't a significant criteria in your process (especially for Brian Stoffel). To be clear, I'm not criticizing: just want to understand how this fits into your thinking.
This one was my call. We are alternating picks each week. Valuation is a bigger part of my process than Brian Stoffel's. Yes, given this company's size, I am more focused on valuation than I would be with a
I don't get the enthusiasm for PYPL at current levels. Googl has a lower p/e, faster growth and better moat - PYPL has been re-rated for good, company-specific reasons beyond the overall market dip. Amazon's fight with Visa over fees could be a prelude to similar fights to bring down fees in the payment sector.
I pity anybody who bought at the 52 week high and is now sitting on a 74% loss. It could take decades to recover. Cisco Systems had a similar collapse in 2000 and has not yet recovered (and there are countless other examples). I'm just so pleased I cut my losses months ago and reinvested my capital elsewhere
Hi Brian. Can you do an update on Toast and their recent earnings? It’s a company I’m really interested in and it seemed like both you and Brian Stoffel liked it when you did the initial deep dive, so I would love to hear updated thoughts. Thanks!
Appreciate the sentiment :) We've never had a video go viral, which can be a blessing & a curse. We're happy to slowly grow. We're in this for the long-term (which shouldn't be a surprise).
My experience with this stuff is that is compounds. We starting taking RUclips seriously about 1 year ago. We think we're off to a good start, especially since the markets (and our stock picks) have been performing so terribly.
PYPL's chart looks very weak, and I dont see any buyers stepping in as of now. "zoom out" We are back to 2017 levels. I am bearish on this one, unless it proves to me that it can move higher from here. If it can't hold $70, so we are down to $40 - levels I am watching now, are $70 "support", $100 "resistance", and $120 "resistance". How I trade it in next week? maybe a push to $100 before it goes down again.
Unfortunately PAYPAL's time is over and they will go the same way like AOL, Kodak etc. Bad investment....At least AAPL, AMZN, GOOGL and the new fintech firms will eat PAYPAL's lunch. It's over 😞
Still expensive. Company with headwins, recesion, rising rates, strugling getting new ussers, lots of competition, dollar depreciation (less earnng outside US). PER forward 24.--> i think its worth at 7-10 times. There are millions of stocks out there sure there is nothing better? Its time to have cash or not fancy shitty ciclical investments at 70% FCFy. Of course i wish all the shareholders the best, but this market is gonna get really ugly. Maybe im too pessimistic with the world. Edit: 1yr after. Easiest put in my life.
@@BrianFeroldiYTGreat video! What are your thoughts on PayPal staying on top of its competition given they’re in such a competitive, fast changing industry ?
Can you guys conver Zynex (ZYXI) - Medical devices, eXp World Holdings (EXPI) - real estate + VR + remote work and Growgeneration GRWG - hydroponics and gardening retailed focused on cannabis industry
@@BrianFeroldiYT Uh yeah, I think I missed that one. Anyway really curious about your take on Zynex especially since you invest in medical devices companies. Their fundamentals look strong but not sure what to say about their moat.

The best time to invest is when most people feel investing sucks 😁, in my opinion.

Oversold. But we are headed to Recession which will take it lower.

PayPal is my favourite stock right now. Even below cov lows.

pypl
With high inflation shrinking purchase power and risk of recession won't the number of transactions go down further?
Great review ! It is a BIG time saver. I bought on Thursday and am glad that you came to the same conclusion.
Keep up the good work !!
Glad it was helpful.
Considering the fact that you normally try to buy companies with profits or at least FCFs or revenues, does insider ownership even matter ?
Yes, it matters. However, it's not the only thing that matters.
Catching more Nasdaq falling knives. Why cant it be 60b?
@Brians Can you please do Carvana. Its growing a ton and selling at P/S of 0.2
How much did you invest on Paypal recently?
We are investing $250/week into a stock. The point is to mimic a wage earner that is building a portfolio.
I think not
Well done
Thanks Jankay!
