I think the bebop development has a lot in common with roadhog from OW, people will always feel bad getting hooked into 70%+ dmg even if bebop “earned” the stacks. Roadhog has a lack of range and mobility relative to the other heroes, but Deadlock has flexibility as a priority in design so bebop’s weaknesses can be (kinda) be covered. I honestly think the hook is much more frustrating than the bomb. The other day I got blindsided by a hook from the rooftop near walker spawn that hit me through base guardian. Hitting a lucky hook from (maybe over I’m not a bebop player) 30m and guranteeing death isn’t fun.
you can get your hook to be up to like 75m lol i snag people down the lane frequently mid stride. its not easy long range so if you get hooked long range they earned that lol
So, I do have a thought on the bomb: Would it be better if it gained stacks on kills/assists, instead of just hitting heroes? Maybe even some stacks on minion deaths? Would that feel better, both to play as (you aren't forced to be hyper aggressive in the early game to build up stacks, and instead go in for kills... And you'd have the option of building up less stacks by using it to clear minions), and to play against (my idea with this would probably want to have less aggressive damage scaling). Another option would be to put a (relatively high) cap on the number of stacks that you can get. It just seems like Valve can't figure out what they want to do for the bomb ability for Bebop.
Valve doesn't want to remove the Play style but they do want to discourage it. I guarantee that if echo shard wasn't core to the build these nerfs wouldn't have happened.
I think of infinite stackers in other MOBAs and that most of them allow you to deny stacks by being proactive against them in lane, but bebop gets damage by just fighting you, which feels frustrating. The only way to not let him stack you in lane is to stay back which lets him either set up freezes or let him shove you, both of which are bad for you since his deny potential is one of the highest in the game rn just behind the shotgun bunch. I think if his bomb stacks came from killing troopers with bombs (bonus stacks for hero kills) would make him feel more fair overall, that way you could stop him from stacking by punishing him if he bombs the wave.
right off the bat im gonna say no, i have been playing with bomb bebop and it's been working okay, as long as you play smart the nerf is barely noticable if you just make sure to gain distance before you die to survive, of course i die occasionally still, everyone will, but by playing smart and not overpushing to get a kill it wasnt too bad to keep stacks
Whoever edits does a fantastic job, I only have one suggestion. Place the bought items on the right side of the screen and a little larger since the words can be a little small and the bottom is used up by the abilities. Just a suggestion, keep up the great work.

new health bars are so ugly I hope we have a choice to keep the old. Also hook is insane, isn't it just a better paradox ult bc it doesn't displace you and on 10 sec CD
yup, one of most broken abilities in the whole game. In coordinated teams, getting hit by it means certain death. I ve been calling it dumb from the start, range is way too big

Explain to gray talon how he is supposed to fight if whenever he has line of sight to shoot his 1, he is also in line of sight and range of bebops hook.
I love how people complain about Bebop nerfs, like the 20% stack loss, but this video clearly shows him blowing up people so quick into the game. He has an infinitely scaling basic ability that's way too strong. Needs to have some kind of drawback.
the bebop experience is to have 80 stacks out of laning stage and then get ganked over and over back to +10 this game is not an average game, it was a one sided stomp with no late game, lasting only 20 minutes
I played bomb bebop earlier, our lane was winning against mo&krill and abrams, built around 100+ stacks, died for the 1st time lost around 16 stacks, when i was on my 5th death i was down to 60, won the game but at what cost 🥸

Honestly i hope they make the stack loss 5% or 10% on death instead of 20%.
