Thank you Norma for this comprehensive preview of the Las Vegas Grand Prix. You are a special person. Please take care of yourself--and take some time for yourself. Maybe have more wings at Brewdog with Jaypcation! Love ya!!❤
As someone who has been to many F1 races here is what I would recommend. AVOID the restaurants that are at street level, especially on the east side of Las Vegas Blvd. Reason is that there will be a bunch of pedestrian areas in front of you as the race track only takes up the south bound (ie west side) of LV Blvd. Also b/c you are at street level, your view of the cars is going to be massively obstructed by pedestrians walking on the north bound side of LV Blvd and the safety barriers & fencing set up for the race. Also I wouldn't do restaurants with windows facing the track since it is likely everyone will be huddled against the windows trying to catch a glimpse. Drais, Cosmo Pool and maybe Club Paris Terrace is would I think are the best (aside from grandstand and VIP tickets sold by the race themselves). Also - prices are falling like a rock, VIP hospitality tickets that were going for $10k earlier in the year is selling for $2,750.
Super informative video! So basically stay home that weekend unless you want to watch cars drive in a circle...granted, they're gonna be going really fast..oooo.
Specifically planned our trip to avoid this foolishness. And from the way hotel rates have dropped, it looks like we aren’t the only ones. Las Vegas is about spectacle. Not hiding the spectacle behind fences.
The resorts are regretting charging $1,000-4,000+ for basic hotel rooms, now they have too many vacancies. Starting this October rates came down a little. F1 will be a big let down economically, travelers are listening to all the online travel guides advising to avoid Las Vegas during F1. Locals are upset to, Liberty Media Corp which owns F1 said last year all they'd need from local government was building permits, now they want $40 million in corporate welfare to pay for half of the repaving costs.
