I think this might be my next rc purchase. I’ve always been a fan boy of Losi. I love the channel. Your in depth reviews and the info you provide have persuaded a lot of my decisions in R.C. Keep up the good work
The inclusion of a partially painted body is cool. Painting bodies is a love it or hate it part of the hobby, taking half the work out of it so you could easily rattle-can a single color and still have it look like work went into it (and you still "customized" it) is a nice touch. EDIT: hah, and that's exactly what you did! :) This will be my next purchase, for sure. Might go with a truggy with since I've been enjoying running my Typhon 3S in the 1/8th scale buggy class!
@@radiocontrolledmadness8119 I usually stick to 2 colors and I just do a fade from front to back - and STILL it comes out looking sub-par 😅 even when I really take my time it looks so amateurish. I even tried hydro-dipping once. I will say, for the next body I paint, I’m going to try the dish soap method. Look it up, it’s very easy and pretty hard for it to come out bad.
sold my 6s Typhon almost straight away because I couldnt get it to drive anywhere near as good as my Losi 8b or Hyper 8.5 and they are old cars. You will love the Losi
Wow that track looks awesome! Very loamy and slippery though. Is it a clay surface? Buggy and Truggy look great for entry level too. As you said once you put the right tires on they should go much better then tune the oils to your specific track. Thanks for another great review mate!
I'm very happy with my 8ight XE RTR buggy. I'm not into trying to be a professional, and it was a good price to have something that runs good at the track. Mine ran great right out of the box, but I'll be dialing in the shocks and diffs soon.... And painting up a themed body for my buisness 🤣
I still found the split battery chassis on the Kyosho a better geometry feature, but I might be wrong. You already drove the Kyosho some time ago, the MP10E Readyset. How does it compare to the Losi in terms of drivability, feeling, etc.?
I would like to know the same thing as I'm torn between these two. Going crazy researching both of them lol. Rc madness is my local track so I would like to know what rc madness has more support for as in parts availability and what which one performs better. Also what is easier to work on as I'm a newbie so easier car to work on males it more enjoyable
Hope we get to see a shoot out of all 8th scale race rtr! That would be very interesting to see how they all stack up for us newbs that want to get into 8th scale
I wonder how the RTRs compare to the competition kits using the same electronics. I can imagine, that the laptimes will be close, but the RTR might have weaker parts. Similar to the Kyosho rtr vs kyosho competition kit video ive seen.
Does the Arrma TLR Typhon buggy body fit the 8ight buggy? Also would the TLR Typhon roller fitted with the same running gear as the 8ight be better? same? or lesser than this 8ight RTR? I'm speaking purely for racing, thanks 😘
This looks killer. But I am confused on some things. When I was a kid in 94 I had an LXT and it was the best thing you could own. It was fast, it handled like a dream, it took jumps and never broke. A few months ago I started to get interested in RC racing again and started watching RUclipsrs. They all are raving over Traxxas and Tamiya. Tamiya was hot garbage back in the 90's. That was a shock. Everyone is just worshiping the Traxxas X Max. Every video that I saw the thing can't stay level and wheelies too easily. So I watched a video a few minutes ago and saw a video about all the things you need to do to upgrade the X Max so it doesn't fall apart. Upgrading the tires that fall apart, the drive train that bends, the servo that sucks, the ESC that melts. So I'm seriously curious. Why is the X Max so great, if you have to upgrade 7 things on it? Why is Losi the car that so few people on RUclips use and recommend? I looked at the price of a Losi truck and it was in the $500 to 600 range. The X Max was $1100 before the $400 to 500 in upgrades that I saw in the video about the X Max. Why has Losi fallen out of favor with RC enthusiasts? It used to be Losi, then Team Associated, then Traxxas and after that Tamiya. When I watch RC RUclipsrs now it's Traxxas and Tamiya, and Arma. I've been out of the loop for 30 years. What happened to Losi while I was gone?
The biggest problem with rc racing is getting new people into it. With 8th scale rising in popularity, its nice to see that losi is offering new drivers an easier way of getting a car and getting on the track.
I have the buggy, after some tuning it’s unreal. The diff oil is 10000 front, 4000 back and 100000 center, dampers rear 37.5, front 45. Also limited the output from the thinks the wheels are mounted to and tuned the righthight.
Im thinking they oiled the spur and pinion. Everyone's center diff has been leaking out of the box. I took mine apart, replaced gasket and it hasn't leaked since. The original gasket looked fine. Just my opinion.
Losi has burned to many bridges on the 10th scale side with lack of parts availability. Sold our 2ws even though they were good cars could never find parts
@endosrc was happy to run them but when you have 2 kids running cars aswell you need parts it part of learning. Tekno and ae will dominate 8th scale as the parts support is top notch
It sucks because I've only been looking at Tekno because of the Losi parts issues I've heard about. BUT the Losi just catches my eyes more. Going to look into the other brand because tekno just doesn't catch my eye as much as others but I want parts, for a few years.
Very nice and the buggy and the truggy but the truggy looks bigger!!!!i want to buy a new one and iam in the place of thinking to buying or one of your exactly the same or the new Asuga XLR!!!i now your is for truck the ather one is 30 degrees north electric this 3 i see video and maybei close my eyes ad i peak from lotery i do my self!!!!!xaxaxaaxaaxaxxa
These are racecars, not bashers. Almost all racecars/kits come with unpainted bodies so you can choose it yourself. Imagine you are at a race and all cars look exactly the same. Going to be hard to focus un your own car.
Word of advice. Know what you’re looking at before criticizing. Redcat although they make good affordable cars doesn’t make a race capable RTR. That’s what these Losi cars are. They’re different in quality, they’re different in design, they’re in different leagues and not something that should be compared to one another in the first place.
I think this might be my next rc purchase. I’ve always been a fan boy of Losi. I love the channel. Your in depth reviews and the info you provide have persuaded a lot of my decisions in R.C. Keep up the good work
Buy one it’s the best

So true painting bodies is a huge hassle and anxiety one of the best parts of this

@GeddyRC if u struggling I damb sure wouldn't try the dish soap.
If I had a track (of ANY quality) near me ... I'd be there ALL the time. I've got nothing. So, I've been making my own backyard track. :)

Dang it just when I thought I had everything I needed!
Looks like another for the stable
That's my first gut feeling when I see a new post, haha!
My 8ight XE is painted and ready to go! See you at the next club race 😉

I’m still missing a few.
@rcdriver regardless, thanks for all the vids man. We all appreciate the time and effort you put into these!
@@rcdriver Hobao VS2 might be an option here
@@PaddyPatroneId like to see the serpent cobra is another good race truggy
Great video thanks! This sounds like a good way to shift from bashing to track driving, like you said.

Nice laps bro ! This is what’s up
How does this compare to the Tenacity DB Pro?
I love losi I have a nitro 8ight that I love I would love to have both of those🤘✌️
The buggy is a beast!
I really like each car they look amazing 👍👍
Does the Arrma TLR Typhon buggy body fit the 8ight buggy? Also would the TLR Typhon roller fitted with the same running gear as the 8ight be better? same? or lesser than this 8ight RTR? I'm speaking purely for racing, thanks 😘
Your tires are most of your setup. As long as your suspension isn't allowing tires to lift off the ground you have to be decent.
Truggy vs Buggy is the real question. I'm debating between either Losi and I can't decide.
There nice kits I’ve switched my 2wd s too Team Losi but I’m gonna go with a Redcat Valkyrie hopefully soon just too see if I like Truggy first.
Truggys are a little more forgiving for beginners but both are good rigs
I agree.

MUST HAVE THESE!!
Pretty sweet right?
So they waterd the track down before you drove the buggie? All the tops of the jumps are a different color, it looks like it's wet.
They look great
would the truggy shell fit onto a 6s kraton?
Love of the Loam
Can you make a video comparing to M 41 and Spartan SR boots?
Too many things going on to do that. But there’s videos of both here on the channel to check out.
The biggest problem with rc racing is getting new people into it. With 8th scale rising in popularity, its nice to see that losi is offering new drivers an easier way of getting a car and getting on the track.
Can they be binded to the new high dollar spectrum radio?? By chance.
They can! 😎
Oh hell yes 🎉 I’m thinking of taking mine to try to win ROAR nats 2025. Wish me luck guys!
What do these weigh (approximately)?
Excellent.
ic5 on the plug ?

Thanks RC Driver. Local Off Road Track is built for 1/8 scale, if the truggy isn't horribly expensive. Might be a inexpensive way to go 1/8 racing.
I knew that other guy was going to crash when he was trying to catch you.
TRUGGY FOR ME 💪😎🤘 IF ONLY I had the $629 rn... lol.. coming soon to the florida track on Dale Mabry and van dyke
Im thinking they oiled the spur and pinion. Everyone's center diff has been leaking out of the box. I took mine apart, replaced gasket and it hasn't leaked since. The original gasket looked fine. Just my opinion.
Yup, it’s possible. Not a huge deal for some as racers replace the oil often.
can you put monster truck tires?
Im sure you can, but why? If that is what you want, you probably should by a basher, maybe arrma or corally or something in that area.
I think the mini t is the best step into racing
I wished they included the 7075 aluminum parts like on the REAL 8ight XE 2.0
I mean you can juyt buy the 8ight XE 2.0, but not for the same price as the RTR....
Are the electronics waterproof?
A lot of chassis slap. Love it though.
Has a general setup on it. It’ll happen, but they didn’t really get too far out of shape.
Finally
😁
They’re super cool and probably pretty good for a lot of people, but Teknos are way faster on my local track.
Losi has burned to many bridges on the 10th scale side with lack of parts availability. Sold our 2ws even though they were good cars could never find parts
yet their drivers still kick ass
Parts are unavailable for the buggy already, it sucks.
@endosrc was happy to run them but when you have 2 kids running cars aswell you need parts it part of learning.
Tekno and ae will dominate 8th scale as the parts support is top notch
Couldn't agree more! I will never buy a Losi again. Hear that, Losi? Not happening!

I wish AE did this in 1/10 in addition to their other RTR cars and trucks.
It really too expensive for me 😊
I know you didnt show up to a race night not having different tires. Lol All of the rtr race vehicles videos say it needs tires.
I had a set of Holeshots and was going to buy truggy tires. But since there wasn’t a race. I decided to just show it stock.
RTR È SINONIMO DI SCARSA QUALITÀ CON 700€ PER IL BUGGY LOSI...
MI COMPRO UN KIT.
Buggy seems alot faster
Tires
I have this but my Habao Hyper VS2e RTR is far better and also I find my Team Corally Radix 6 to be better…..overall disappointed with my Losi 😢 🇬🇧
Why would they paint the windows 🙄🤦
Because the body is printed and lining up the windows is a more difficult process that adds more cost.
I'm sure it's fast and awesome, but I want loud and obnoxious. Nitro gang forever.
Tekno
and they come partly painted..
-wtf😂
So you can personalize it? While all basher cars look the same with pre painted bodies? Gotcha
These are racecars, not bashers. Almost all racecars/kits come with unpainted bodies so you can choose it yourself. Imagine you are at a race and all cars look exactly the same. Going to be hard to focus un your own car.
1/10 is better.
No
$650 for 4s capable car? That's disrespectful to the consumer.. I could buy 2 redcats for that price and actually find spare parts #greedy

tlr is garbage, kyosho is way better for your money
